I just did a quest that tells me narrative designers (or however they call their quest writers) at CDP did play Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines like they claim. Watching a snuff film to find where it was made, I've played that quest before...

During Act 2, V and Goro go talk to Wakako at her pachinko parlor, word of advice, make sure Goro is leaning against the door at the entrance waiting. Either by travelling separate, or just wait at the car for a bit so he gets ahead of you. There is an absolute hilarious encounter with the old guy at the door. Classic Goro! LOL.
Don't click the spoiler below unless you want the scene ruined!

Does Johnny ever comment on side gigs or is it just the big missions he appears? You can usually see him hanging around during dialogue scenes if you look for him, though most of the time he remains silent. The vast majority of his dialogue is in main missions. My most memorable Johnny moment was during a sid gig, so he does chime in occasionally.

Cars are pointless for me in this game so I'm not buying any. Going with the default and Jackie's bike which I'm using all the time. Additionally, why spend money to buy cars when it's much needed and more useful for personal upgrades?
Btw, what's the tarot for? Collectible?

Started to mess around with the photomode today. It's really well done. First game ever I used photomode.

Does Johnny ever comment on side gigs or is it just the big missions he appears? On the common kind of gigs (steal data, clear all enemies, rescue NPC) he doesn't show. The rare kind which involves some investigating and dialogue, he usually chimes in. He is more active in the Side jobs where he shows more often than not.

And yeah, just walking in and shooting everyone would certainly be quicker and more efficient. But figuring out how to sneak properly is just more fun IMO. The quickest way to do most jobs is to just run in, click whatever there is and run out. Enemies are often too busy to take cover and show off their flanking maneuvers instead of actually chasing you closely. Which is probably why the developers added some extra objectives and jobs like escorting NPCs or optionally not raise the alarm. The bad part about sneaking is that apparently it doesn't raise your Sneaking skill if you just reach objectives and leave without touching a guard. At least I haven't seen it get raised outside of quietly taking down an enemy. I actually have the skill quite high, at 13-14 or so (one of my highest skills along with Quickhack and Breach Protocol, next ones are at 5-8) and I never sneak. However I hack enemies unseen from a distance and that pumps up my experience. The skill tree itself is useless to me - why raise your stealth damage with guns or lower guard reactions? Hackers are the ultimate stealth masters in this game.

I had a npc driving. During 2 missions he kept driving into a wall. But fine, I let the dialogue happen and then press skip travel. Next thing I'm traveling again with the same npc. I'm like "oh great his driving improved!" We arrived in a small quaint village. He casually ran over someone.
Also I did one of the most F***ep quest I ever saw. Literally JESUS F****ing CHRIST ! A npc asked me something and I tend to do everything in game , Stout included. But I was like "nope, no way " The dude in the quest was nice and I didn't wanted to bail completling, but it was really really unconfortable. Some side quests are something else.

I'm not enjoying the upgrading aspect of this game. I'm stymied because I don't have the mats and I can't craft and decon epic stuff because crafting is low even though I've been deconstructing everything I don't want (drinks, low level grenades, inhalers, clothes, weapons, etc). The only way is to stand at vendors, buy loads of stuff, decon them all. Rinse and repeat until the skill is leveled up. This isn't fun at all.
It reminds me of the hours I spent in old mmorpg games like Asheron's Call and LOTRO; standing at crafting tables, laboriously repeating (clicking) the steps over and over. It goes on and on. I detest such game mechanics.

It reminds me of the hours I spent in old mmorpg games like Asheron's Call and LOTRO; standing at crafting tables, laboriously repeating (clicking) the steps over and over. It goes on and on. I detest such game mechanics. I think upgrading is useless in it's current state. Far too expensive and you get better gear from looting anyway. Literally the only thing Crafting is good for, in my opinion, is for lowering the cost of crafting Quickhacks. That's it. And once you have all the Quickhacks you want, you can pay a 100k and put those Crafting points into something better.
Then again, I am not quite sure how crafting items scales. Is it depending on your level or on your Crafting stat? I can craft a white mod that initially gave 50 armor. Now at level 34 and Crafting at 12 or so, the same white mod gives 130+ armor. It's more than some blue mods I loot. So I am wondering if crafting mods is actually also useful and better than looting. I got myself to 1800 armor just by self crafted mods and I don't use any armor related perks or boosts. The only thing that can hurt me somewhat are bosses (Normal difficulty). I can literally go in the middle of 8-9 enemies and their shots and knives barely move my health bar.
One of the most useful Crafting perks is the "extracts mods when disassembling gear". For some reason there are great Legendary mods that come already put in some piece of shit looted gear. Only way to grab them is with that perk.
I honestly don't regret making Technical my secondary stat. Engineering is useless for my playstyle, although I want to see the perk for "Tech weapons ignore all Armor". Crafting is so-so, but only because I need quickhacks crafted. And opening passageways is always nice.
Speaking of skills in the field - I already had a stat check requiring 20 Intelligence. In a side job Good thing I had it, I didn't like the only other option. I have seen a door asking for 18 Technical and a door requiring 17 Body. I have only seen Reflexes and Cool show up in dialogue. Highest required Reflexes I saw so far was 9 I think. Highest Cool check was maybe 12. Not counting the augments that require certain levels of Body and Reflexes.
Btw, the last level of Street Cred says Ripperdocs will offer new stuff. It's a lie!!! Everyone I checked so far, after reaching 50 SC, has the same inventory. Where is that chameleon skin? I know it exists, the doc in the Badlands talked about it! I am standing here trying to get rid of 400k+ dollars, people. Any takers?

I destroyed Delamain’s core and freed the sentient cabs, now riding around in Excelsior. I have to say, it was worth it to get postcards from robotaxis in my messages. The one surrounded by a mariachi band is priceless.

Does it says that, or it's just that some cyberwares requires SC 50 to be purchasable, but they are always there? I'm coming near 200k and I have no idea what to buy next. My build feels kinda "complete" already. You can always buy a lots of car and file the 3 stories parking at the Megabuilding H10...I actually wonder if we can do that? Spawn all our owned vehicles, or if the last one disappear when you call a new one.

You know, I can't recall the exact wording, but it gave me the impression it means new stuff, not "unlocking the available stock".
My build is pretty much done for a while too, but I still have cyberware slots to fill. And there are no available items for them at all. Maybe there are some well hidden doctors I haven't visited yet. I found a new one yesterday, but apparently he works in the poor area and his stock was worse than Victor's - mostly white stuff.
I know I can have 3 of my vehicles around me at the same time. I never bothered to call more. Maybe at some point they start to disappear.

Ok, question - Meredith Stout. People everywhere say they had contact with her after the meeting with Royce.
I wonder what I have done for never receiving any calls from her after our initial meeting. I even offered the chip in the Royce deal. But yeah, I hacked it before that, cleaning it and copying the virus. Maybe that changes something? The corpo agent she was beating up during our meeting was leading the soldiers when me and Jackie went out and we were told Meredith is "taken care of for stepping on one too many toes".

She was killed Jim, because you cleaned the chip. She stick around if: - you give the chip with the virus - start a shoot-out without giving the chip And then in act 2 she send you a booty text message that turn into a quest to meet her if you accept. The quest log entry is funny and not written by V, as it ask how V managed it. The title is a clear reference too: Venus in Furs.

I think for the start shootout option you needed to refuse the chip completely. I took it but ended up in a shootout anyway. Later with not another Meredith appearance, I cracked the chip and took the money for myself. Also, I had the same mission end as saandrig, and at that point I hadn't touched the chip.

Note, I'm Corpo and I took the corpo options in the Meredith exchange and I didn't lie to her. - Once in All-Foods, when Dum-Dum asked Jackie to sit, I went with "you know what Jackie, you're right" and Dum-Dum didn't like that. - Shooting everyone happens, dealt with everyone (even Royce), freed former leader - Meet Meredith at the entrance of All-Foods. She complained a bit about me going "off-script", but she was still happy with the results. I got to keep the chip, decrypted it and pocketed the eddies after the call with Dex.
