End of Year PC Build

Hint: Pro version... can choose updates... etc. (sorry about reminding this, but its the only real option)

My new PC compatible Xbox One Controller.keeps losing bluetooth sync and then the X light in the middle just blinks slowly but does nothing.

Any suggestions how to fix it so it stays permanently connected?

I'm at my desk with my PC less than an arm's length away

Nothing separating me from my PC.  I was given a USB dongle in my box when I bought the Controller from Bestbuy three late last week, I do not have a second controller.  The BT is, I believe on my Motherboard (Z490 Aorus Master).

I believe I may have found and solved the issue though.  My phone/Hearing Aids.  You see, my earwear is capable of 2.4 Ghz BT, Bluetooth LE Audio (newest format) and AuraCast.  I use an App on my Galaxy S24+ to monitor hearing aid stats, track wear-time, adjust volume etc....So I think the interference from either my hearing aids or my phone, or both was the cause.

I think.   I'm not wearing my hearing aids at this moment (as of 8:05 am ET) and I did shut off the BT on my phone.....and for the last 10 minutes since doing so I tried to play Ghost....and didn't have any issues.

Hmm.  Well, given the frequency of most BT devices (160 mhz or 2.4Ghz) depending on format (ie 11ax, 11ac etc) it is ligical that multiple signals from different devices would interfere with each other depending on proximity; my phone is rarely more than 2 or 3 meteres away from my desk and being that I wear state of the art hearing aids with BT, interference is logical.  So now when I'm gaming I'lll just have to remember to turn OFF the BT on my phone. 

Problem Solved.  Happily.

So we are going to just let this pass?

On topic: BT, the crappiest technology ever, huh. That said, it usually works, provided there isn't too much EMI, like a broken PSU radiating all over the place.
Well yes, and no. BT should be able to handle seven devices by design, however..
This. Seven isn't all that many these days.

I contacted MS and spoke to a few people, they all said the same thing:  Xbox credentials (Gamer tags, Libraries, Profiles/Accounts etc) once created (I created mine back in 2009 when I bought my 360 because I was downloading DLC for the Arkham games and PoP) are permanently linked and interconnected with the Microsoft Account that is tied to the email address a person uses.   So, even though I no longer have my 360 and there is nothing in my Xbox account (such as game-related info, or CC info for any Membership) or anything else that accumulates in a User's account....The Xbox Profile will lie dormant and 'empty' but can not actually be permanently deleted without deleting the email account it is tied to.

Basically, anything to related to Xbox is one and the same with Microsoft and you can't get rid of one without the other.

I know.  I was hoping that since I don't have my 360 anymore (I actually had to trash it just a few months ago because the PSU was completely DED and a new one would cost me 300.00)....I also spoke with a few Owners of Used Games stores and they all said that the model from 2009 isn't worth trying to get replacement parts for nor is it worth trying to sell to us, because we have a ton of them and can't off load them so we don't want anymore.  And to find replacement parts for that model year is extremely difficult so don't even bother.  If especially the PSU has crapped out, just chuck it and the best you can do is try to sell your games to Bestbuy or something."

So that's what I did.  And since I haven't used my Xbox account since May27th 2010 and it was completely empty (even my 3 month Trial Membership to XboxLIVE had long expired)....I was hoping I could just get rid of that account for good because I don't like things like that laying empty/unused and hanging over my head.  But it is what it is.  There is no content or info (personally identifying or otherwise) in or or tied to my Xbox account other than my Email.  But I hae also unsubscribed to Newsletters/Notifications etc so the email address is useless to them.  It's basically just a glorified label at this point, so I guess in the end it doesn't really matter.

That's almost as bad as waiting for the 28.8 Mhz Dial-up modems. That's a sound I don't miss. I know what you mean though, that's exactly how I feel about the PCs at my work. They are 10-year-old base model i3's with 8GB of the slowest Value RAM possible, a 75 dollar Motherboard with a basic onboard all crammed into a flat-bed style ITX case with only two 40mm fans. one for intake and one for exhaust. And they (somehow) run the Enterprise Edition of Windows 10...albeit just barely. So it takes about 17 minutes to boot up from the time you push the Power button to the time Windows is fully loaded, and that's first thing in the morning at 7:30 when noone else is in the building. The largest monitors we have are 19 inch, but the resolution is 1200x800 or 1366x768 at the very most on some. We have an assortment of branded PCs ranging from DELL, HP, ACER but they're all specc'd the same.

And the next time my work will get around to buying "new" PCs, they will already be 4 to 5 year old most basic tech bare bones units...And they (the Reseller) warranty them for 7 to 10 years.

I can't get wait get home and turn on my own PC.

Maybe they realize it's an addiction, an obsession for some people and so they are trying to limit the temptation.... ?
