It has been under control, sort of. But his latest worsening is quite annoying and makes reading difficult. I am hoping it can still be reversed. Have you used or had to have insulin? Do you still eat sugar or off it all together? I was supposed to be the health professional here.

I read that "the 10900KF requires at least 64 GB DDR4 at 2666 to run well This is rubbish. I figured 2x16 running in dual channel would be more efficient and just make more sense than 4x8. There is a slight difference, but it's negligible. Do I actually need 64 GB for the games I play? Certainly not. 16GB is enough for games atm. And I've also been told that unless I buy the RAM together at the same time Listen to Intel: Rules to enable dual-channel mode: To achieve dual-channel mode, the following conditions must be met: Same memory size. Examples: 1 GB, 2 GB, 4 GB. Matched DIMM configuration in each channel. Matched in symmetrical memory slots. Configurations that do not match the above conditions revert to single-channel mode. The following conditions do not need to be met: Same brand Same timing specifications Same speed (MHz) The only screwable issue is the DIMM configuration. Sit. Down.

A thought/question just popped into my head: Since I am running a Z490 Aorus Master (which apparently is PCIE 4.0 Ready) and a 10900KF... .Will I be able to upgrade my 2080 Super down the line to a 3080TI (in about 4 years time)? Unless PC architecture changes dramatically in the next 3 to 4 years....Presently with the games I am playing such as the Tomb Raider reboot Trilogy, Jedi Fallen Order and the ME OT... I am more than happy with the performance and appearance of my newest PC.If you have to do anything it may just be replacing the PSU that may be necessary. Though with the way things are going you may just want to skip the 3000 series altogether.
Also, another thought just occurred to me : I read that "the 10900KF requires at least 64 GB DDR4 at 2666 to run well, so if you are only running 16 or 32 you should consider upgrading." When I bought the parts for my system I sourced everything from Amazon (with the exception of the PSU) and I purchased 32 GB of DDR4 from G.SKILL in a 2x16 package since it is a dual channel platform....If only going to 32 GB and 16gb chips were available, I figured 2x16 running in dual channel would be more efficient and just make more sense than 4x8. But having read this blurb, I am toying with the fleeting thought of upgrading to 64 gb. S ource?Credible? Or iddiots?
Do I actually need 64 GB for the games I play? (When I game I don't have any other screens open)....unless I need to briefly check a walk through. Aside from the visual aesthetic of having all four RAM slots on my Board filled (mind you I don't actually notice a huge difference because I can't see the gaps left by open slots since the motherboard is black) is there any real-world performance need for me to upgrade to 64 GB? So you don't multi-task and only do the one game at a time? Well... If it runs that fine... I don't see why you need shell out more for more ram if it does what you want it to. Now if your wanting a 4K resolution and extreme graphics settings with RAY Tracing on... Sit. Down.
We Need To Talk.
And I've also been told that unless I buy the RAM together at the same time, there is a great chance that the second pair I buy will be defective and not work properly or as effeciently because they are more than likely of a different batch even if the specs and brand is exactly the same. I have known this to be true in years past from certain brands like Kingston (especially modules made in China rather than Taiwan) but does that same line hold true for today? This is a scare tactic in my opinion. While true on cheaper sticks it doesn't really hold up on mainstream chips.
Meaning that mainstream RAM sticks -that as long as timings, bandwidth and speed match they should work fine.
RE: The RAM not working correctly unless I buy 2 or more of the same batches at the same time, rather than buying 16 now and another 16 later type of thing........That was someone in Sales at my local Canada COmputers store. And as for the blurb I wrote about the 10900K NEEDING 64GB RAM to run well......I've read that same article three times now in the past two months (all by chance).....and yet now I can't find it. I have googled every term, every phrase....scowered as many as 40 different websites with tabs all over my screen (still only using 25% of less of my full RAM)....But now I can't find that stupid site anywhere. Everything I have searched says 32GB is overkill for almost all scenerios--unless you are into things like Maya, ZBrush, Cinebench, 3DStudio, CAD, ADOBE PS at 8K resolution etc....which I am not. It is those things that need 64GB because of the intensive storage/retrieval relationship between the RAM and CPU for such things.

Just have heard that cutting out the sugar and replacing it with RAW honey can sometimes help a bit. I don't have T2D but drink RAW honey water- shaken not stirred. Its helped me heal quite a bit since my gallbladder surgery. A surgery that left me with scar tissue on my liver. Tissue that has healed in seven years or if there is any scar tissue they can't find it now. The only thing I have done since the surgery different in my life has been to drink RAW honey water.

Try the wayback machine website? I tried this and googling and found nothing. then it was a hoax article This occurred to me as well. about the 10900K NEEDING 64GB RAM to run well The problem with the idea is that, there's nothing special about 10900K's memory architecture: it's just a normal dual channel. And processors don't "need" memory for anything, system's do. If you want to squeeze most out of your memory, 1. use quad channel, 4x8GB etc. 2. buy the sticks with the smallest latency (gets expensive fast) 3. get sticks with crazy clock speeds, like Kingston Fury Renegade 4600 (pricey) But this would make little sense, unless you plan to do memory OC:ing, or are a benchmarker.

If you want to squeeze most out of your memory, 1. use quad channel, 4x8GB etc. Even if you use four sticks of RAM with the 10900KF, it's still dual-channel because that's what the platform supports.

True, I should have worded that differently, thanx for correcting. Threadripper and the like use quad these days.

Yeah, as far as I know QC RAM on Intel platforms went the way of the Dodo after the X-99 chipset and 2011-3 socket. DOn't quote me because I'm not entirely sure...would have to look it up, but I'm pretty sure that the Z 170 and onwards...270, 370, 390 etc up to the current 490 and newest Z590 only support Dual Channel.

Found it! I found that link about the 10900K needs 64 GB Ram to work welll.......Though on this page it is also showing being paired with a 3090, so MAYBE the comment is in relation to the CPU needing 64 GB RAM to work well enough.... so that it doesn't bottleneck the beastly 3090.....Who knows... What's your take on this??? pc-builds.com/calculator/Core_i9-10900K/GeForce_RTX_3090/0Ya176/It talks about a 3090....but the paragraph that this comment is actually highlighted on the page is specifically under a paragraph about RAM, and it plainly says "the 10900K will need 64 GB of RAM to work well" There is no qualifying statement before or after that, nor is there a clarifying statement. And it is bolded for a reason as if the writer wants that sentence to stand out on its own and be taken as gospel. I even tried changing the GPU selection from a 3090, to my 2080 Super and even down to a 1650 to see if the article wuold change....But it didn't. The statistics changed as per the hardware being compared, but the write-up remained the same. It remained the same that under the RAM paragraph it said "the 10900K will need 64 GB to run well" in blod black lettering.

It's a load of crap. I thought it would stay the same and it did even when tried Ryzen...
However I did get it to change though: Which is just stupid.

Thanks for the input, Vanguard. At least now I know not to waste more money (300 dollars) on 32gb more of RAM. Plus, I also took a look at some 4K Gaming Benchmark videos on youtube.....(you know? The kind where the screen is segmented into 8/16/32/64 with statistics changing constantly....along with Resolution such as 1080/1440/4K) and at 4K... 9 out of 10 times, the FPS difference in games remained equal between 32 and 64 GB RAM, with the exception of maybe one or two titles in very specific spots of certain games; then and only then would the FPS jump in favour of the 64GB for only the briefest of moments. Yet there were also times when even the so called 'sweet 16' showed a positive favour over 32 or 64 GB at 1440P....so bottom line is I am going to stick with my 32GB of 3000Mhz DDR4 with a Timing Ratio of 16-18-18-18-38 CL 16, and who cares if I have two unpopulates slots on my motherboard. Hello thread I am teh dumb! And I figured it out, and now my system is damn near silent running games. The way it could have been when I built it :/ I will keep this simple: I have a Corsair H150i, and a Commander Pro. My fan speeds would ramp up ridiculously anytime I opened a program, ran games, etc. They would ramp to 1600rpm despite the "Quiet" profile in iCue. Why? Because the Commander defaults to your CPU temp sensor, which will make your non-CPU fans (my Commander is not running any of the H150i fans) start "crying Wolf" for no reason. I finally remembered to look into fixing it. Very simple. Go to Commander Pro settings, select Cooling, go down to preset area and click +, make a new preset and base it on the H150i pump coolant temperature. Set all your fans to this new preset, and enjoy the silence. So easy to fix. I really feel dumb being mad at my system, when it really was PEBKAC.

One Word:

It may be a few months late to the party but Jay finally released his Free tips -except the last one on heat removal from computer rooms:

Mind if I insert myself and my question here?
I got a Ryzen 7 5800 recently. Not the X, I didn't see need for unlocked CPU after I never actually overclocked my 2500K.
I play mostly ArmA, but also played and finished over 100 hrs of Kingdom Come, a little DCS, and a bit of Wargame Red Dragon... All of those, the CPU ran around the 80 degree celsius mark.
Now, I got CP2077 (local retailer - and my local I mean, one of the biggest two in the country - had a good sale so I went for it) and playing it the processor runs up to 95 degrees celsius, no problem and stays there for the whole session. I've been limiting my sessions due to this significantly.
I wanted to ask, how bad is it? SUpposedly 95 is the very top bracket for "still in spec" but I'm worried to run the game for extended periods of time, or even on a daily basis in short sessions to not damage the CPU.
I have also asked AMD themselves about how the temperature would affect the CPU in the long term, but I figure I can get a variety of decent answers here quickly, and then get the definitive one out of them eventually.
...and if it's not good news, I'll have a chat with the builders. Silverhand style.

Silverhand style. the cpu on my old laptop is still going strong after 6 years of heavy use, but it starts throttling at 80, and that’s when I typically stop what I’m doing to let it cool.

Yeah, Vermeer is supposed to run hotter though. I'm not observing any drop in performance, so I'm just worried about the longevity of the processor.

Silverhand style. The 5800 is supposed to be only available to OEMs. So I guess you bought a prebuilt PC. I believe the Zen 3 CPUs start to thermal throttle at 90C or 95C, so your 5800 is definitely hitting the thermal limit in CP2077. AMD will tell you that 95C is "within" specs and it's perfectly safe, but that also means the CPU is downclocking itself in order to prevent damage and you're leaving a lot of performance on the table. If I were you, I would ask the system integrator (AKA your PC builders) about the high temperatures. They really should've used a better CPU cooler. A better cooler means your CPU won't thermal throttle, can boost higher, and perform much better. It is something that they shouldn't save money on.
