I remember it. Never had one though. Would have been way to much growing up for me. Especially with 4 acres of land that had to be taken care of first. By the time that was done there was nothing left for computers. I was kind of like Linus -grew up in the rurality of the south. Found my love of tech and the mountains and been here since.

There's no way that I'll ever sell or give away the Voodoo 2. It looks great in my glass display cabinet along with my EVGA RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra. Well at least that tells us you enjoy having a trophy case.

I never had a trophy case before.
Oh, BTW....I switched my Razer BW to a red USB 3.2 port on the Motherboard, did the same for my Logitech G502 HERO (bcause my dad needed his wireless rodent back) so I thought I'd give it a whirl with the 3.2 ports....and everything is grand! NO ISSUES of any kind with the KMB both in 3.2 ports.

The Voodoo 2 was actually my first 3D accelerator. For me too; I had the Orchid Righteous 12MB coupled with a Ati Rage Pro II 4MB. Later upgraded to Matrox Millenium 8MB, that could handle my fancy 19" Sony Trinitron display. That was an expensive tube, but I needed it for work. Those games absolutely needed the acceleration. Quake 2 was almost unplayable without it. Star Wars Jedi Knight Dark Forces 2, and even Half Life. Yup, played them too. None of my friends was into computer gaming Sorry hear that. Back then I had several friends who were into gaming and PC tech; not so much anymore. I still have the card on a display shelf. Very nice! I have it storage somewhere. Can't throw away a piece of history like that.

My dad rags on me for buying Gigabyte....But after the 2013 debacle I had with the Maximus VI (Anti) Hero.....Nothing but BIOS issues, defective RAM slots, warped GPU slots, bending/warping PCB since the day I bought it....it was a nightmare. I had it RMA'd 3x (t wo times ASUS claimed they'd lost it, never received it even though I signed for the shipping notification) and a 2 week job turned into 4 and a half months each time) and still the problems weren't fixed when it was finally returned......I vowed after all that that I would never buy ASUS again. Though I do miss the good ol' days of ASUS actually living up to their slogan of "Rock Solid, Heart Touching".....Back in the early days of computing when ASUS was THE company to get a motherboard from. The P5 series (the P5E Deluxe Gaming motherboard with the X58 chipset was one helluva awesome board, as was its successor, the P6T Deluxe. Had my PC not been struck by lightning for the second time since 2008, which was why I upgraded to the P5E and the Intel 9650 Extreme....AMAZING) I never would have had to buy the Anti Hero because that P5E had thousands of cycles in her yet. I concur ASUS is not a company worth anything anymore -except for heartache and grief. If your going to want the ASUS credibility then you going to need to look to its spin off company of ASRock -which are were all the true hardware nerds of ASUS went to work. ASUS is nothing but a former shell of its former self. I know we all have our niches and brand preferences, and that's okay..... I'm not saying ASUS is a bad company-- I've just been burned more times than I can count with defective garbage and horrible service. I'm sure ASUS can make some beautiful, rock solid, kick ass motherboards......As can Gigabyte. But in the end, in terms of tried and true "Quality" they're all the same, generally speaking. It is merely the connectivity and feature-set that sets each company apart. Some epople like what ASUS offers, or the way they do things like do some absolutely insane things with Memory. ......Others like myself like Gigabyte for the way they have design the VRM and power delivery system and really gone top-notch to make their motherboards as sturdy and reliable as an old Chevy, "like a rock". ASUS again is garbage as far as I am concerned and that is coming from an EX-ASUS fan boy. That said I agree Gigabyte does something else too: Giving a wide range of feature sets than other manufactures. And while their boards may have issues at launch they do update them into being very stable. Again here I can say What have you done for me lately ASUS?
Looks like we called it:

Still havent upgraded. Been busy and otherwise need to complete the projects on this machine before doing the iLok shuffle and moving the licenses to the new machine. Still targeting i7-13700 level for audio machine. Early computers? Well I did fix Nokia Mikromikko CP/M at my mothers place when I was 9 years old - didnt know what I did but in the end I fixed it with logic. Our first computer was of course, Commodore 64.

This was in '84 I think, the Mikro Mikko's were still CP/M. VAPO used them. It had super slow modem connection to whatever mainframe back then. Yes I'm that old...

Guess that is the price of being never able to shut my thinking off. Doesn't hurt to browse the BSN Tech Thread after all. I guess Razer needs to amend their specifications. Yes, strange that the 2.0 ports didn't work......The Websites for Logitech AND Razer say their devices are 2.0. But the 3.0 and 3.2 ports are what are working beautifully. But it is not the Connectivity that makes the difference between 2.0, 3.0 or 3.2 (which I thought it would be) because.....who knew of a Mouse or Keyboard that would require 3.0? Instead, the difference is the power delivery......so perhaps these devices required the power stability that 3.0 and 3.2 could deliver. 2.0 has been around for, what? 20 years? So maybe the power delivery of USB 2.0 ports is just not enough to support devices from 2019,2020 etc. So....YES, I am very very happy to report that both my 502 Hero and my Razer BW are working beautifully. Thanks!

One can see the old CP/M machines in fex. Knight Rider series Wow in one shot you hit on my second favorite series -the Original -Not the Remake. I saw those computers in multiple episodes though not all look the same. Though the one in Topaz Connection I believe got moved into the Semi. I also think the Semi computers' keyboard is the one that was in Devon's office in the Soul Survivor episode and also made the move. I found YT channel Knight Rider Historians some time ago who give info about the show. I don't think however that they speak much about the computer stuff. Then again just starting with their synopsis's.

Thanks! Anytime... Still... Its strange that a 400mA max difference could cause it. Maybe the RGB takes that extra power and is depriving the device of power and makes it go delirious... Or the fact that USB 3.0 has 9 wires vs 2.0's 4 may be causing electrical interferance -seems more reasonable. No that is ridiculous unless you plug it back into the other slots and disable the RGB -which is just me being a nitpicker so ignore... PLEASE! Its working leave as is! LOL

Yes, original. The world of original Knight Rider is still very amazing for me, as the atmosphere was somewhat feeling dystopian cyber parallel vs what it really was. Love it. www.starringthecomputer.com/features.html#K - Here you can see some of the computers used.

Still it hurts that I see through all the "cinema magic" but that is what I get for watching the episodes over and over and over. Its ironic to me that the one computer I saw most used concerning villains' was called a "Intertec Superbrain" WHICH is even more ironic if you go back to the first season of Mannix... Where he works for a company called: INTERTECT -I think. A Knight Rider story I don't know if you know but DH didn't meet WD till the first seasons' Christmas party. The only 1980's series to beat Knight Rider for me is MacGyver -original as well. The reason it beats Knight Rider is since I mostly think like him and duct tape is life. Ironically since this started with the Commodore 64... In S01E15 --> "The Enemy Within" of Macgyver there is a Commodore 64. Still both are a whole lot better than anything currently on TV. The 80's and early 90's was good TV. When the Pretender TV series ended... NOTE: I don't include the movies in that -they pooped on the franchise. Anyway I digress when they ended TV in my opinion went south into dumpster fire territory. Well except NCIS but that has since happened -I mean who really watches that anymore?
