Apparently I guess I am behind the times in using RAW audio format. For I don't see large hard drives being utilized.

No the reset does remove it all it is just when you tell it to install everything locally and to NOT install Onedrive it does install it I believe because Onedrive in Windows 11 from what I read tonight is part of Windows Defenders "back Up" security function in case of damn Ransom Ware or something. You basically have to let it install it. then go in and turn it all off (folder by folder and repoint files) and go through several other steps then delink it so it doesn't keep automatically backing stuff up even though the damned thing isn't even technically installed. I need to decide tomorrow whether I can be bothered or just work around it, I wasted at least 8 hours today on it again. The RESET does what the name implies I would assume. As in resets the OS so everything that was installed initially gets reinstalled thus One Drive is added. No it doesn't work like that or rather that is not what it says it will do. it gives you a choice to restore Windows 11 and it asks you if you want to store it locally or on the cloud, it came stored on the cloud by default when i bought it. I told it I wanted it stored "locally" (C:\User\ME\Documents) as that was the issue I had, I didn't want it storing everything on the cloud that is Onedrive C;\User\Onedrive\Documents as the default save location. It then asked if I wanted to install Onedrive and I specifically said NO however apparently it installs Onedrive as part of how Windows Defender protects your PC. It did the restore and low and behold it had installed Onedrive and made it the default location for the "Documents" folder again meaning for example I download a Bioware game and that is where it sticks the "Bioware" Folder in the Documents folder on Onedrive not in the C:\User\Me directory. I delinked and deleted the Onedrive folders and files and it STILL recreated the C:\User\Onedrive\Documents folder and made it the default location. Here is a Microsoft community Q and A that raises and answers the issue better than I can explain it: answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/one-drive-folder-keeps-coming-back/40214cdc-4b6b-4cc4-a737-057d1350d5c2My problem now is do I restore again and go through the answer to the problem provided in the article, try and do it from the point I am at now by reinstalling Onedrive and following the steps or just give up fighting it and wasting another 6 to 8 hours to day restoring, setting up and downloading stuff again. The main problem is that it doesn't just affect games it affects any program that stores folders in the Documents Folder by making the default location Onedrive instead of the C:\

Too tired and too pissed off to comment too much right now but F$%king OneDrive is unbelievable, did a fresh restart, told it to install everything locally. specifically told it not to install Onddrive (it did), delinked, deleted onedrive folders and game files still install to Onedrive "Documents" folder even though it did not exist at the time so I again end up with two damn Documents folders. A whole damn day wasted again. I have found a solution online just now but it's too late and will decide tomorrow if I can be bothered fighting it again tomorrow since I again have everything working except FMM and my MODS for MEA. Another solution to get Documents away from One Drive: Unless it no longer works..... Thanks for that but that solution didn't work for me I tried it a few different times as my problem specifically relates to Onedrive making the "Documents" Folder the blessed or default Documents folder for when/where programs (like Bioware Games) install stuff to the "Documents" folder.

Sorry I am normally good with this stuff having just another Fresh Start and got a completely different result but the same problem with Onedrive it's throwing me for a loop. Basically I just want to do a local install but Windows will not let me. Even when I told it do do a clean start and not remember my files or anything it still installed One Drive and made its documents folder default and had all my files in it!!!!

I believe -as disturbing as it is -Windows is smart enough to default to what the Default actually should be MINUS 1D. That said -you do have your files backed up so if it doesn't work you don't loose anything. Personally I would be willing to risk it just to get out of MS 1D data hostage holding cloud. As to the install -you would have to have internet disconnected and a cmd code entered to bypass the MS Account requirement:

I have appeared to have deleted the One Drive folders even the Documents one and told the one I copied from xternally to "Set to Default" which it seems to have done since the Onedrive folder was now not there. Just about to try and download a Bioware game and see what happens????

Alas no luck when I downloaded MEA it created a folder called Bioware in the default OneDrive "D" folder I cannot remove and which has not other folders in it. It actually has a thing in the drop-down menu basically saying it cannot be removed. So my games will be installed in their usual place but the relevant documents folder will be there, so be it. That I gues means i have to install the MOD Managers there as well.

that Gigabyte board is still the best money to performance ratio I think you will get without having to shell out over 200. There are others cheaper but they most likely would not last a decade of use -its still true: You get what you pay for. I have an ASRock Fatality Z97 Killer in my current PC. I have no idea what the equivalent price range would be today. I don't even recall what it cost in 2015. But considering that I never had any hardware failures in 8 years I either picked well or got very lucky. I assumed the massive price difference between Z790 boards was about features and not how fast they break. But that was probably naive. So yeah, I'll want to buy a board that will ideally last as long as my current one. If that cooler you recommend is really that good than that would be awesome. It's much cheaper than any other decent one I researched. Yeah no idea about GPU. I could afford a 4090 but that would be incredibly unreasonable even if it's the only one with good vRAM. I just don't want to reward all this greed. I used to think that upgrading to a new XX70 card every 2-3 years is the best approach. But then the mining crap happened and the vRAM bullshit started and now I don't know anymore. I went from 970 to 1070 to 1080Ti pretty fast, so the most expensive one is the one I've been able to game without issues the longest but that was 630€ used and not 1600! Completely insane price tag. I was checking out prices for a used 3090Ti but those aren't appealing to me either and I don't want to get scammed (I bought the 1080Ti off a friend of a friend, so zero risk).

That I gues means i have to install the MOD Managers there as well. Got a question concerning One Drive... Does it reside in SystemApps folder as well like Cortana and Edge? If so then its time to assume direct control. Step 1: Download this and run it to take direct control of folder: www.elevenforum.com/t/add-take-ownership-to-context-menu-in-windows-11.1230/Step 2: Now DISABLE THE INTERNET! Step 3: Navigate to C:\Windows\SystemApps Step 4: Open the folder and find One Drive folder ----->Probably got some gobbly gook name but ONE DRIVE should be plain enough -back up the folder somewhere nondescript -NOT C: Drive. Step 5: Afterwards Right click the ONEDRIVE folder then more options and then and select TAKE OWNERSHIP -let it work. Step 6: Right click the 1D folder after the cmd prompt finishes and select DELETE. Step 7: Go to recycle been and empty it. Step 8: Reboot and there should be no One Drive. Step 9: Wait on me to finish testing in a Virtual Machine before you do this... ======================================================= AFTER you do the above Click the start button and then type CONTROL PANEL Once there got to programs Then uninstall a program Find One Drive and uninstall. Do it with internet disabled the whole time.... Now if I can only find a way to delete Cortana

I was checking out prices for a used 3090Ti but those aren't appealing to me either and I don't want to get scammed (I bought the 1080Ti off a friend of a friend, so zero risk). According to what I found that board was around $200 when first launched. Again this doesn't take into account inflation -so the board would probably be over $250 new if bought now. Certain companies try to save a buck where they shouldn't and you end up with a board with sub-par components and failures run rampant. Gigabyte -in customer support but I think one reason may be they just spend more on the cards -no money for tech support -LOL. ASUS used to be good but since all the good people there launched ASROCK now ASUS are just a never buy: Yes who would want to shell out that amount? Not anyone I am sure. I never spent over $350 on graphics cards before this GPU hostage situation began. Yes I consider it that GPUS are being held hostage till we pay up or we don't get one. Though since there has not been much decline in prices the ZT-A30710B-10P is a better value now than when I paid for it. Its actually gone up in price but that is what I get for the best of the line -according to Buildzoid -LOL. My personal builds have gone MX4000, something 6600GT, 7600GT, 8600 GTS, 9600GT, 250 GTS, 670 TI?, 760 TI, GTX 970 <=>3070TI --> In build I building -after rainy season over). I may have mixed the order up and forgot older ones but that is pretty much correct order -I believe. Yes. Its true I have been mainly on Nvidia and I completely skipped the 10 series -well the community PC has a MSI Mini 1050ti but I beefed it up with 3500RPM fans so its rock cool temps. As to motherboards -that Gigabyte board isn't the only one after some research and since you are an ASROCK fan -and apparently like the color RED -I could look at their lineup and see what they offer if you want before you make a decision. Should I even look at MSI -their prices are just exorbitant? Asrock prices seem much more reasonable but they no longer use the Fatality line and no red MB's -MSI took that shtick I see. Sorry to make it a bad day.

All Z790, H770, and B760 support 13th-gen Intel chip natively without any BIOS update. Sorry. You are right -I was misled about that fact by Amazon and Newegg that only say 12th Gen on most of their board offerings. That said... Kappa Neko that Gigabyte board is still the best money to performance ratio I think you will get without having to shell out over 200. There are others cheaper but they most likely would not last a decade of use -its still true: You get what you pay for. Well in actuality while they all DO support the 13th Gen... ONLY some support DDR5... This is important since Kappa Neko already got DDR5.

Now if I can only find a way to delete Cortana Let me know how you go, thanks for digging up all this info. at this stage I am just putting up with it TBH I have wasted so much time on it.

Let me know how you go, thanks for digging up all this info. at this stage I am just putting up with it TBH I have wasted so much time on it. Boy... I have a renewed LOATHEING for Windows 11. The method above so far so good. Just make sure internet is DISABLED till all is done. I did it via a Local Account in a Virtual Machine. www.tomshardware.com/how-to/install-windows-11-without-microsoft-accountAside also found and DELETED CORTANA -it deserves worse than the Recycle Bin!

Sooo is an ASRock still good then or is everything associated with ASUS to be avoided? I'm a bit t confused. Well, according to my research of all the boards current available there's exactly two models that support 5600 natively. I had no idea. I somehow assumed all board support 5600 max because that are the specs of the CPU. Ugh. MSI PRO Z790-A MSI PRO Z790-P Gigabyte Z790 UD Gigabyte Z790 UD AX Those are in the sub 250€ category right now. The Gigabyte has bad reviews. Couldn't even find a cheap ASRock that supports 5600 RAM speed. I do not care whatsoever what color anything has. I actually dislike red, lol. I do have a window case but I don't care. And I don't need or even want distracting lights. I'll wait with buying hoping are more expensive board goes on sale this summer. Otherwise I'll take the MSI, not sure if I want to pay extra for the wifi version. Probably not. So that would bearound230€ right now. I think my current board was like 130 bucks at the time. Probably because DDR3 was on the way out? Maybe my memory on this is wrong though.

ASRock still good then or is everything associated with ASUS to be avoided? ASRock is a different company altogether. They make good stuff, highly recommended. Asus should be avoided until further notice. I suggest you get this, but I urge you to reconsider your stance on the MSI MAG Z790 Tomahawk WiFi. It's far better than the Z790-P, but they cost almost the same, where I live anyways; YMMV of course. And it supports DDR5 up to 7200MHz.

I probably shouldn't make a big deal out of having to use XMP. But I bought 5600 assuming I wouldn't have to on any board. Crap. (Neither RAM not CPU have arrived yet, got delayed. I could send the RAM right back, get 6000 CL30 ideally and just buy whichever good board goes on sale. Even faster RAM makes no sense price-wise.)

Huh. OK. Looks like the info on the shop website I checked was incorrect then. Found 5600 as non OC speed on a different website. Weird. Will add this board to the list. Current price is too high for my liking but maybe I can get a good deal in a month or so. Not really in a rush, just impatient.

Check the QVL (Qualified Vendors' List) on the Gigabyte website if you want to match RAM with a particular motherboard. For all the motherboards and RAM comparisons Gigabyte has a list for all the compatibility comparisons they have matched...and the list is quite extensive. Odds are quite good that you will find that the RAM you bought will match the board of your choice.....And if it doesn't, they will at the very least give you a comparable and competitive model that they have tested with good results.

I could send the RAM right back, get 6000 CL30 ideally and just buy whichever good board goes on sale. Even faster RAM makes no sense price-wise.) There are few boards that will run such a high speed natively. Most will require an overclock of the RAM to achieve this. However I did find that three ASROCK boards that do natively support 5600. Will update with links shortly. First the ASROCK B760M PG Lightning -Be careful though for this also has a DDR4 model. Second is the ASROCK B760 Pro RS WiFiThird is the ASROCK Z690 Steel Legend WiFi 6E/D5I find its easier when your looking for a board that supports a certain speed to always look at the higher speeds of support than what you have. That way your RAM would always be natively supported without having to over clock it. This also smart for by not overclocking the memory you will have less troubles over the decade. Also sending RAM back in and getting even higher will tighten the supported boards even more so where an overclock will be absolutely necessary. In some extreme cases a motherboard that doesn't support a RAM speed without overclock may not even boot or if it does may not do it correctly.
