Morning, Kappa. 75 is typically on the high side, but should be okay provided it doesn't stay there very long even after you exit your game. The 12th and 13th-gen Intel CPUs run at much higher operating temperatures than the previous gen CPUs. 75C is actually considered very good for the 13700K. The CPU only starts to throttle itself at 100C and you shouldn't be surprised to see temperatures at 80-90C.

RPM of 1,800 yet when the GPU and/or CPU hit around 80c they can be doing 2,400 Fans are rated for maximum RPM at 12V. If you're getting higher than rated RPM, your fans are either supplied more than 12V (unlikely), or they are "getting help", i.e. there is a pressure difference, that makes their work easier, thus enabling them to rotate faster. That said, sometimes an obstructed fan inlet may cause weird effects, like a decreased air flow at maximum RPM.

Best thing to do for Air Coolers is clean the vents with a can of Compressed Air and a vaccuum (because you don't want the dust to fall back into your case). I believe my old system was cleaned only once or twice in 8 years by my PC guy! It was VERY dusty when my new guy picked it up. Cleaned it nicely for me. I don't plan on cleaning it for years. My laptop is covered in dust too. I often used it propped on my thick blanket with awful airflow as a result. Neither has died a heat death. I'm a filthy person and unless something starts dying as a result I won't change, sorry. *g* New RAM arrived today. I fiddled a few embarrassing moments with it, too scared to apply the pressure needed to click it into place. Mildly panicked before I used more force. Played FO4 for 90min, no crashes, no blue screens. So it looks like it really was the RAM and not the board, what a relief!

The collected dust can one day make the computer overheat, like my GPU did I had not cleaned it for like 6 years and there was somekind of fur monster, making my computer BSOD first time ever. Cleaned it and no BSOD and temps normal. Gotta remember to clean at least once in 3-5 years then!

Yes that has happened to me too, once or twice before...Not putting enough pressure on the RAM to properly seat it securely in the socket. I get it, you're afraid of breaking something....I get it. But with just that little bit more of an *umph*, it snaps itself into place nicely. And voila! No more RAM issues! It's such a relief when you go from agonizing things like BSODs(Blue Screens of Death.... ie those brought on by RAM issues, like you saw) to a clean, fresh, beautifully-working PC. There's a GINORMOUS weight suddenly lifted off of your shoulders and you can actually feel yourself breathe that "sigh of relief", rather than always unconsciously holding your breath just waiting for another occurrence of said issue (that's the worst!) But when it is finally gone for good..... You almost feel like *Chair Dancing* S0 glad to hear that you solved the problems.....I'm happy for you *Begins spinning rapidly in circles excitedly and banging drums exhuberantly*

That said, sometimes an obstructed fan inlet may cause weird effects, like a decreased air flow at maximum RPM. I have adjusted the fan curve with MSI Afterburner so they max out now at 2,000 RPM, not sure about the voltage if that's standard I don't think the guys who built my PC would have done anything different. New case and new fans and I cannot see anything that is obstructing the air flow. I suppose the worst case is I'll have to replace them earlier. I could also drop the Resolution scaling and cap the FPS lower but ATM I am enjoying the extra quality far too much.

I am sure you would get at least 4000 RPM out of that sort of setup...

While those temperatures are fine as long as fans are running on both. Most likely as you say a poor optimized game borking on a GPU driver it was never tried nor designed for. I would still check that the fans on the CPU are not in zero RPM mode. I personally run my fans 100% all the time and though noisy a bit. You would think since the system was built in 2015 that I would have had more fans die. The internal fans are still running -granting all Noctua. The outside ones died long ago but they were just stupid ones like these: The PC sits about 3ft to 5ft from desk so its fan sound is dampened somewhat. Speaking of Fans my new PC has 2 120mm ARGB SickleFlow fans, all I can find is a Max. RPM of 1,800 yet when the GPU and/or CPU hit around 80c they can be doing 2,400 is that OK or a problem for longevity or is the Max. RPM wrong? Fans are rated for maximum RPM at 12V. If you're getting higher than rated RPM, your fans are either supplied more than 12V (unlikely), or they are "getting help", i.e. there is a pressure difference, that makes their work easier, thus enabling them to rotate faster. I could also drop the Resolution scaling and cap the FPS lower but ATM I am enjoying the extra quality far too much. Your case fan -sickle fans will hit 1800 RPM +- 10% usually so no way they are hitting those speeds. Those 2000+ RPMs are most likely the GPU fans on the GPU shroud. Those fans usually max out between 2000 and 3000 RPM. I did have one GPU that went to 3500 RPM -I think it was the 760 GT but not uncertain.

Two things: 1: 2: 3. Oh here is a fun one:

Speaking of M.2, installed FO4 on it and it takes only 34 seconds from booting the game to the save being loaded, I love it!!! Definitely makes a difference for modded games. Granted, switching ENBs reduced the loading times considerably even before. My old ENB took like a minute or two to just boot to the title screen because it was slowed down by loading all the possible presets in the background. I think I was down to about 30 second with the new ENB. But six times as fast as the SATA is noticeable. About 10 seconds and I'm on the title screen now. I used to go get a glass of water or go to the bathroom before and chances are it was still booting. Now if my game crashes I won't lose much time.

Yes, I've been running an M.2 (Samsung EVO series) since 2016 and I can attest to and agree with you that they are world's faster than even SSDs. SSDs make a huge jump from magnetic drives, but in my opinion M.2s make the same jump over SSDs. They take up less space (especially the internal PCIE 2280 form factors) and pretty much no matter the brand, you will get amazing performance that is on average at least 5x faster than any SSD. And the way I look at it is.....If your motherboard supports the feature, why not spend a little bit more (if you can afford it) and make use of it because the space-saving alone is almost worth it...then you add the performance benefits on top of it, and you've got an easy win in the build column. And now that you've had a taste of an M.2.....I don't think you'll go back to even a 2.5" SSD. At least, I didn't. M.2s have become my form factor of choice for many things....I have two or three of them on my board, and in future you may well look for a board with muiple M.2 slots because you are so sure of the form factor and performance that you will find it hard to go back to a huge, 2.5 inch SSD for anything but excess, offline storage. I'm glad you are happy with yours and that your system is stable....no more crashes. Happy Gaming!

However, most motherboards only come with three or four M.2 slots. So I still need to get 2.5" SSDs for storage purpose for my future builds. Even if the motherboard supports PCIe bifurcation, there isn't any room left for an NVMe expansion card. Especially after installing the GPU that takes up four slots and the sound card.

This card does support bifurcation: But no slots... that is a travesty. This does not support bifurcation: Still not a big loss considering no slots. This one... I don't know if you have a spare PCIex1 slot: This may go to SATA interface but at least you get a lot more hard drive connections. Again this is what you will probably have to suffer with. Though... you probably have plenty of USB ports... so maybe this: Again probably none of it will help you. Guess you will have to suffer with what you have or work at a reduced speed. You probably will accept neither though.

The video card takes up even more room if you mount it vertically with a riser cable. It basically blocks all PCIe ports and leave them completely unusable.

The video card takes up even more room if you mount it vertically with a riser cable. It basically blocks all PCIe ports and leave them completely unusable.Sigh. I mean put the GPU in PCIe slot #1. Put the riser in slot #2 and connect something like the below to the riser. IF the GPUs fan shroud is still to massive that it blocks the second slot from being usable then get some black zip ties and another riser cable and take the GPU and position it from this: +++++++++++++ + + + + + + + + + + + GPU + + ----------- + + + +++++++++++++ To this: +++++++++++++ + + + + + + + GPU + + | + + | + + | + + + +++++++++++++ And tie it to the cage or the radiator. There now not only do you have access to the second PCIe slot but also have the GPU in a much better air receiving location. Though I think we discussed before that most here are not that mechanically creative or inclined but I won't apologize for my creativity. At least its an option. If someone tells me the round peg can't go in the square hole -I will make it go even if I have to:

Sigh. I mean put the GPU in PCIe slot #1. Put the riser in slot #2 and connect something like the below to the riser. You don't understand. There is no room at all to access those PCIe slots. The GPU heatsink completely touches the PCIe slots. The only slot left is the very bottom one and that's for the sound card. Lian Li have a prototype case that can mount the GPU on the front intake of the case. But I'll just do this instead. It's easier and a more elegant solution. I just need a motherboard with as many M.2 slots as I can get.

They're certainly popular, but not great in terms of build quality (not here anyway in Canada). I made a previous post about the history of the company also known simply as "ADMIRAL". Back in the 50s, 60s, they started in North America by making Appliances such as refrigerators and freezers...they're now part of the Whirlpool conglomerate (Kitchen Aid, Whirlpool, Amana, Maytag and Jenn-Air) In terms of modern electronics They're listed on the lower end of any list I've seen for "Best Monitors of 20xx" and they're always in the "Budget" Category, which if you're looking at 389 AUD (349 Canadian Dollars) that's a decent price....I've seen Samsung go for even less. But they're certainly not meant for a "High End Gaming" set-up. www.tomshardware.com/reviews/best-gaming-monitors,4533.html For what it's worth, my money (even on their low to mid range stuff) is on BENQ.....or LG. And though I don't personally like them, I know ASUS monitors are very popular here, and I've even seen some in that price range you're looking at. www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=22_5358_5361&item_id=103307Here is a 27" 1440p LED monitor from BENQ that I believe fits within your price range give or take 40.00 CAD But bottom line is: If you like the look of the AOC monitor, if you like the specs on paper, if you think it will suit your needs...... See if you can find some reviews of it online or on youtube. If the reviews you read/watch are decent and you're satisfied with that.....then the choice is yours.

I'll dig a bit deeper. The main thing was with all the spec's. it is close to my current Monitor i.e. 1ms (current is .5ms), 155Hz (current is 165Hz), so it hits almost the exact same spot as my current ASUS Monitor but at 1440 instead of 1080 including G-Synch.
