At first I thought Revan would be appearing as a holographic form in the new remake, and I got very concerned haha. Would be nice if he got a cameo in the new Acolyte TV show! As far as canonizing Revan's gender and appearance goes, I am torn. On the one hand, KOTOR is an RPG, and everyone should be free to wish that their choices for Revan and the story get reflected as much as possible. On the other hand, Revan has been designated in old canon (legends) as a man with a long flow since the mid 2000's, via books and eventually SWTOR. This has been his image since then, and Revan has continued to remain a popular character during this time. I doubt Disney would want to mess with what fans are already used to.*looks at the sequel trilogy* Ummmmm... I knew that phrase would cause some debate haha. You are right, the sequel trilogy varied from copy paste jobs (Episode 7) to tearing down the past (Episode 8). I was just injecting my hopeful mentality into my statement. From a strictly video game point of view, it's definitely been more on the conservative side (Battlefront 2's campaign and Fallen Order come to mind) compared to the new movies, so hopefully that trend continues for the KOTOR remake.

I've always thought it is better for video games to have their own canon rather than be confined to the limitations of the movies, books, etc. Part of this is because there are things that benefit video games, like playing as a Jedi or using certain force powers, that may be fun but not necessarily fit the canon rules or time period strictly. And often in video games you are going to do more outrageous things than other media simply because that is enjoyable. KOTOR had the advantage of being in a largely undefined (outside some comics) time period so they could do their own thing. Let's not try to make that fit into everything else. It doesn't need to. Part of the fun is having multiple endings and outcomes. Making anything canon will only take away from that. Fun fact: KOTOR is set about a generation after the Tales of the Jedi comic series. Bastilla Shan was originally supposed to be a now-adult Vima Sunrider (perhaps an explanation for why she also had the talent for Jedi battle mediation.)

Something to keep in mind. Battlefront 2 campaign was made in part by ex-Bioware Montreal (Motive + Alex Freed who wrote SWTOR Imperial Agent storyline and SW novels) and Bio Montréal worked on SWTOR in the early days. Fallen Order feels Disney Wars to me despite being set in-between the first two trilogy. Titanfall 2 has better writing than Fallen Order too...(same studio). Saying that, Aspyr as Courtney Woods as Lead Writer, she started her video game dev career as a community manager for SWTOR and moved to the writing team.

This doesn't inspire a ton of confidence, but great things have been done by unquantified individuals before. Despite the Schreier announcement, nothing has been officially confirmed anywhere that I can find. Thought the announcement of it would come on the 4th, but that ship sailed.

Well, I guess that's my question.
There's been some guesswork as to when development on this project really started. Perhaps the recent "leak" refers to official development beginning.
I really don't know, and have hoped that this has been in development in earnest a little longer.
If not, then of course you are correct.

That is when EA 10 years exclusivity contract ends with Disney. All the recent leaks about other companies making SW games are because Disney approved projects for release in 2023 and beyond once that contract ends.
