So Josephine is an ex-rogue? (She's probably one of the characters not really fitting in a class, though ex-rogue is still better than that wiki table putting her as a mage, so I had to nuke that entry immediately.)

Charade was an archer and in DA2 terms that means she is a rogue.



Duncan was DAO when warriors could dual wield, so I would have said he was a warrior based on the game alone. However, I think his backstory in DA2  WoT2 definitely says he is a rogue.

By contrast, whilst dual wielders in DA2 are exclusively rogues, in the game mechanics that only includes daggers, not full battle axes. Also, I cannot believe that the Qun would not have selected a fully fledged warrior for their Arishok, although considering we have no idea what the tamassrans consider suitable candidates, I suppose anything is possible.

Whelp, both the game dynamics, especially across three games, and the stories do tend to contradict themselves. At Ostagar we pull 1 dagger and 1 sword out of the troll - this was Duncan's choice for a massive battle. I played dw rogue and dw warrior in dao. DW warrior could carry two 1h swords, rogue had to have at least 1 dagger, the second could be a dagger or a 1h sword.

However, THEN you could open that nice can of warms and ask WHY IS THERE A SHIELD that belongs to Duncan?

Duncan clearly recruited Daveth based on a similar story from his own youth that points to him being a former thief and someone who did stabbity stabbby on the side too. To me personally he feels rogue, but it's probably a fair argument for a warrior too. The same thing with Arishok, contradictory story. When it comes to classes, the Qunari spy network is massive. They know more of what's going on at Kirkwall than the legal authorities. I don't see why someone with high cunning, ambition and high intelligence gathering skills wouldn't be selected as Arishok. The only class banned would be the mage.

Oh I agree completely. It me too when smoking hot characters get eliminated early. But if I put Zevran, Leli and xxx unpopular dude in the group there won't be any drama or mystery about who will get eliminated. boring game will be boring

I'm trying my best to build the groups strategically to last the game, not necessarily fairly.

There is certainly manipulation involved, but I haven't rigged the groups in order to remove specific popular characters from play since I cannot account for various tastes. I grouped a few characters assuming they have similar popularity and thus would give us a good battle within the bracket, but I'm also trying to avoid losing too many strong contenders, sometimes successfully and sometimes less so - between Zev, Leli and Arishok we will only lose one. I do throw 'sacrifices' here and there, that is true, and some groups will be easier than others to offer reprieve. Basically, draw minor blood and suffer some loses each round without overdoing it, but there must be at least some degree of a challenge and some risk of losing a few likable guys while yes those trolls and hairballs keep on crawling through. However, if you notice, by the end game there are always at least three real sexy characters left to battle it out for the gold and all the hairballs tend to be lost half way through the game.
