What Shepard will you play as in the Legendary Edition?

I'm probably going to do an evolutionary run. Sometimes I like to start with a Spacer War Hero full Paragon in ME1 who starts to blur the lines with more Renegade options in ME2 because of the pressure of losing colonists. By ME3 with the full Reaper invasion and the total desperation of the situation Shepard is primarily making Renegade decisions because he/she doesn't feel like it's appropriate to play politics and diplomat...he/she is willing to do whatever it takes to defeat the Reapers. I'll likely do a FemShep run mainly because that's my go-to and a I prefer the voice actor. Also, engineer forever baby!

If I buy it:

Male Sentinel based on me.

Usually I play a nice guy who runs a tight ship. So a combination of paragon and renegade.

Not sure who I will go for romantically. Not Ash because I greatly prefer Kaiden and her romance is bad into ME3. Probably Miranda because she is the most balanced and interesting character I suppose. I prefer humans btw.

I may do a female run because default female Shepard from ME3 looks nice, but I don't like Hale's voice acting much.

I don't know if I will spend too much time on MELE if I buy, because I played the games to death already and there are too many other games.

Female Shepard, Colonist, Ruthless, Sniper.

I will be replaying my headcannon, first playthrough, Alexis Shepard. She ​is pragmatic, willing to sacrifice and do morally questionable things for the greater good of galactic civilization. Most of her choices are renegade, but I tend to mix in some paragon actions, especially when she is asked to do something shady or immoral for selfish reasons. She puts her duty, how she sees it, first.

I'm not sure if I will do a romance with this character. I've tried Kaidan (too nice) and Jacob (cringe), but neither resonated well, and both have issues Shepard being their superior officer. (Admittedly that is the case for everyone, but it feels particularly notable in the cases of Kaidan, Ashely, Jacob, Samantha, Steve, Kelly, and Vega.) Garrus feels more like a friend than a lover. I wish Jack was available for female Shepard, as originally intended.

If I play a second time, it will be my male Shepard, Paragon, Earth Born, War Hero. He was a Vanguard originally, but I might change that, as it wasn't particularly tied to the character concept.

I have already done several playthroughs of the trilogy on the PS3 so I have no idea what I am doing to do with Shepard in the Legendary Edition, except that...

I will likely create new Shepards rather then rehashing ones I've already created, and I will likely create at least one Shepard per class so I can try out all the classes in ME1 Legendary and import them into ME2 and 3 Legendary so I can try those out as well.

I have three main Shepards, and I keep going back and forth between which one I want to play first.

Sara is my "canon" Shepard. Colonist/Ruthless, Vanguard, Paragade, romanced Garrus. Has a bad temper, loves her crew, and no problems with aliens, except batarians (for obvious reasons). She's also vary defensive of colonists. This is why Ethan Jeong always gets a bullet. And why when you find the dead colonist on Eden Prime (ME3), I like how upset she sounds by their death, and how comforting Garrus was. I think Sara ended up being my favorite because I love Garrus' romance, Vanguards are awesome in ME3, and I love the roleplay aspects of the Colonist/Ruthless background.

Nadia is my second favorite of all my Sheps. Earthborn/War Hero, Soldier, a little less renegade then Sara, but far more practical and not as loving as Sara either. Romanced Thane (and only Thane), but far into the future I could see her and James becoming a thing. I see that relationship being kind of like Anderson and Kahlee. Playing Nadia is always an emotional rollercoaster, especially in ME3.

Rhianna was my first Shep, and I still have a soft spot for her. Spacer/Sole Survivor, Engineer, Paragon, romanced Kaidan.

So do I play my favorite, Sara? Go for the feels that is playing Nadia? Or go full nostalgia and play Rhi? Decisions, Decisions. I guess I'll find out when I hit the load screen.

Finally another Shepard gives James a little love.

Doing that right now. Chances are I will be playing multiple Shepards through the LE, just like I have through the original. It's just a matter of what I want to do first. Besides I want to see if I can remake those three in the new character creator.



I love James. One of the best human companions in the whole trilogy. He should have been a proper romance for FemShep.
