Do you get any XP bonuses for completing the game in the Legendary Edition (like the original), or no? Perhaps it is just a matter of not getting to level 60/30 on the first playthrough, but then being able to do it on subsequent playthroughs. I am unlikely to hit the max in my first Legendary Edition playthrough since I will not be getting the Paragon or Renegade specific missions. I am playing a mix of Paragon and Renegade, and not spending any points into Charm or Intimdate so I am not going to pass many checks. I will still probably stick a gun in Conrad's face for old-times sake. Only Completionist is there, but IDK if it give xp bonus since 5% that it gives is in 20% already. OT achievements gave 10%+5%+5% (Cimpletionist 5%, Power Gamer 10%, Extreme Power Gamer 5%). If it gives additional 5%, maybe level 60 can be reached..

Level 27 (and a half). Next quest is Bring down the sky, then off to Virmire. If I get to 28 in the DLC, I should be able to gain another level from Virmire and then Ilos. Maybe not 30 by the end, but it will be very close.

Just finished ME1 earlier today. Managed to get to 29 on Ilos. The amount of XP needed to get from 29 to 30 is absurd. I think it's impossible to get to 30 in one playthrough.

I am far from finishing the game since I want to unlock all bonus powers first and then start normal playtrough. I can tell that you did all side content, you will for sure get Completionist Achievement. Can you please check in ME1/Extras/Achievements if it gives more bonus xp since you will finish the game soon?

For those that tried for a completionist run but did not hit the level cap, what was your total XP? I want to compare it to the original ME1's requirements. I know they said they changed some of the XP requirements so that you could hit the maximum in one playthrough, but if that is actually not the case, then they miscalculated. Unless you have to really explore every square inch of the galaxy for every last shred of XP (which would really suck).

I missed a quest on Feros but i think that would only give some hundred more XP. Not enough for level 29 or 30.

I missed a quest on Feros but i think that would only give some hundred more XP. Not enough for level 29 or 30. For comparison, here are the late-game XP requirements in the original Mass Effect 1: Level 60: 862 100 Level 59: 662 100 Level 58: 542 100 Level 57: 462 100 Level 56: 406 100 I do not know what the new XP requirements are for In Mass Effect 1 Legendary Edition. NOTE: If we are comparing Classic Mode (1 - 60) versus Legendary Mode (1 - 30), then it should work to something like this: - Legendary 30 = Classic 60 - Legendary 29 = Classic 57 - Legendary 28 = Classic 55 Judging from your XP, it does look like the high-end XP requirements have been reduced, but by how much for the final few levels I have no idea at the moment. In the original Mass Effect 1 with all XP bonuses and DLC (including Pinnacle Station), I could get to level 58 by the end of the game. Without Pinnacle Station, level 57. If finishing the game once gives you any sort of XP bonus for subsequent playthroughs, then it should theoretically be possible to get to level 60 in one playthrough if the final XP requirement(s) are not too large.

- Legendary 30 = Classic 60 Legendary 30 = Classic 59 actually. Legendary leveling compared to Classic goes like this: L1=C1 L2=C3 L3=C5 ----- L28=C55 L29=C57 L30=C59 Talent points distribution: L1=C1 - 3 L2=C2+C3 - 6 L3=C4+C5 - 6 L4=C6+C7 - 4 ------------ Classic: Levels 1-5: 3 points per level Levels 6-35: 2 points per level Levels 36-60: 1 point per level Total 100 Legendary: Level 1: 3 points (same as Classic) Levels 2-3: 6 points per level Levels 4-18: 4 points per level Levels 19-30: 2 point per level Total 99 I used dev console and compared everything with Experience guide and Talents GuideIf finishing the game once gives you any sort of XP bonus for subsequent playthroughs Sadly here aren't additional xp bonuses for completing the game. They gave us 22% xp bonus. Tested that with dev console; typed commands for 10, 100, 1000, 10000 and 100000 xp respectively and got 12, 122, 1220, 12200 and 122000 xp prompts in game.

I kind of feel like speed running the rest of ME1 and do a completionist run next so I hit 30. I doubt I'll get one achievement 75% available P/R. I almost never go all in on one. Who knows maybe go all P from now on and hope I hit the 75% but I probably need to do all the side quests for that. Then on my "real" run do p/r how I want. Sigh, I wish I could just hit 30 in one run.

I'm wondering if it would make a difference if we never used charm or intimidate, and just gunned down every single thing we encountered, and resolved every situation through combat, would we get more XP that way?
Also how much difference does it make to XP if we save the 16 colonists on Ferros, rather than killing them all?
I'm level 56, and just about go to talk to the council after Virmire. I've done every single side quest in the game, uncovered every mineral node on every planet, hacked every single container with the singular exceptions of the two on Virmire you encounter when not with your companions. I know for fact that I'm not going to make it to level 60 regardless. Oh well.

I got to level 29 with 472,355 xp. I can't see how would get another 200k xp to get to level 30.
Moving over to ME2 it showed me as level 57 on the import

In my limited testing in the original Mass Effect 1, you got the same XP for charm/intimidate as you would for killing everyone. (If I recall, I tested with Helena Blake). Not sure if that is true all the time though.

Here are the late-game XP requirements in the original Mass Effect 1: Level 60: 862 100 Level 59: 662 100 Level 58: 542 100 Level 57: 462 100 Level 56: 406 100
Unfortunately, these appear to also be the XP requirements for the Legendary Edition of Mass Effect 1.
I just finished ME1 LE with 509 662 XP. I was level 29 Legendary Mode or level 57 Classic Mode. The next level was 662 100 XP for level 30 in Legendary Mode, or 542 100 XP in Classic Mode.
I did everything I could except the unique Paragon/Renegade missions (I was playing a mix of Paragon and Renegade and did not spend any points into Charm or Intimdate). So at best I could MAYBE have gotten to level 58 if I did one of the unique missions (or both with some exploits) and did everything on both extra planets. Maybe killing a few extra Geth drop-ins during the final Saren fight could maybe have helped.
So level 58 seems the max you can get without cheating (dev console to give XP). Pretty sure they said you could get to level 60 in one playthrough, but that is clearly incorrect.
So unless they reduce the XP requirements in a future patch or increase the XP rewards, there is no way you can ever get to max level in a single playthrough.

I'm at level 28 on Legendary mode (56/57 on Classic, I assume), and I'm staring down the Conduit mini-relay on Ilos. Maybe the next fights can get me past 29, but I've done every quest and completed every Paragon objective (except Jeong on Feros, killed his ass and happy about it too). I could have missed a Thresher fight or two (and good GOD are those fights different!)

I'm wondering if it would make a difference if we never used charm or intimidate, and just gunned down every single thing we encountered, and resolved every situation through combat, would we get more XP that way? In my limited testing in the original Mass Effect 1, you got the same XP for charm/intimidate as you would for killing everyone. (If I recall, I tested with Helena Blake). Not sure if that is true all the time though. I'm not yet through the entire game, but so far I'm not seeing any changes as to where paragon and renegade points are given or in how much is given. It seems it still follows the Morality Guide on the Wiki. It might take a few more playthroughs to be absolutely certain that things like free points and slots and the morality quests are unlocking at exactly the same levels though.
I'm doing a similar playthrough, although I have glitched paragon on Eletania to get my charm to 3 and then focusing on getting both the renegade and paragon up to "morality quest" levels in the game without assigning any level-up points to either. If everything in the Morality Guide is still holding true, I should unlock the renegade morality quest soon and unlock the paragon one en route to Ilos (where I will turn it down to see if that allocation of 2 renegade points has been fixed. The morality guide indicated those 2 points were available, but I never actually ever received them in my similar OT playthroughs.
As you probably know (or guessed), I'm a very slow player... but I'll let you know what happens when I'm done.
My second character is the reverse background and I'm not near as far along with her... but I am sort of planning to do the same thing... glitch some paragon to fill in the shortfall and not assign any level-up points... to see when various things unlock. On my second runs with each, I should be able to accomplish full bars without glitching (again, if everything in the morality guide still holds true).

When i switch to classic Mode i have the maximum of 862100 XP for level 60 but it still says i am level 59 That seems like a bug... like there's one extra level needed about Level 30 in Legendary Mode. Legendary Mode basically removes every second level from classic mode (levels 2, 4, 6, and so on), which includes level 60. Ideally, going from Legendary Level 29 to 30 would be the equivalent of going from Classic Level 57 to 60 (final 3 levels of Classic), but unfortunately that does not seem to be the case. The free charm/intimidate points and talent slot openings do still appear to be working like they did in the original Mass Effect 1. I managed to get the three free Paragon and Renegade points in my first playthrough, but no morality quests since I was not high enough in either.

So went through the entirety of ME1 and got to level 56. Level 57 is 100% obtainable via legitimate play it most likely requires more murder hobo renegade actions. I vaguely remember it being possible to get level 58 in one playthrough? it's honestly been over a decade (ouch I feel old).

Did a paragon run with my FemShep spacer, hero, soldier ... got to level 29 (which imported as level 57), was a completionist run and I put points into paragon, so that except for Feros and Corporal Toombs ... I had paragon dialog options throughout (including Saren).
From what folks have said, it seems reasonable to think there is a bug preventing level 30/60 ... miscalculation of XP by BioWare could also be true, but the inability to get to level 60 on a second playthrough makes me think a bug is a more likely issue [insert "Why Not Both" gif here].
The best I ever did in the ME 1 OG was get to level 58 on a single run. Also, I think the number of "free" charm/coercion points could be less in LE. I once did a three run version of ME OG, where I put no points into charm, put points elsewhere, got to the third run with full charm and got all the paragon dialog options. In ME1 LE, I put 8 points into charm, but didn't have it maxed by the end of the game. Perhaps another bug, perhaps they have reduced the charm/coercion points awarded.
