The Reapers knew they existed - they were purpose built by StarBrat (the actual AI). Reapers are organically evolved machines built for StarBrats purpose. Assigning them free will or anything else that a "soul-bearing" creature creates a lot of problems and makes a very confusing mess of their reality. Harbinger was just spitting StarBrat riffs, like a Karaoke machine.
This makes a lot of sense. The Reapers as we knew them in ME1 and ME2 could be said to have souls, even if they were completely evil. Once you introduce the Intelligence as the true sentient being, something else comes into play. The Intelligence might have a soul but the Reapers are nothing more than puppets - albeit with extensive programming that allows for a lot of decision-making - but they are not sentient. On a lesser level, are the robots that can beat the best chess players sentient? No. All they do is calculate variables. They make decisions but in a strictly limited way. Unless we talk about the Russian robot that attacked a kid who did something it didn't like...

Hmm. What would be the implication of it being Ilos? They're rebuilding the Mu Relay?
Not sure if they're rebuilding the relay. If anything, building a relay in that location would be wise since it gives easy access to the prothean archives that housed plans to building a relay and other information that could be useful. Another reason could be a lack of traffic to worry about causing the project to take longer. I know that means nothing since any location could work that isn't well travelled. It also could be symbolic since that's the planet the conduit was built on.

Building a relay to reach a system where you can find plans for building a relay, lol. But yeah, Bioware likes to make the galaxy feel small so it's possible it is some known system. Or they just like to hint at things to get fans to speculate and in the end it's something else entirely..
Sanshee @teamsanshee Join us 11/25 for the start of our #BlackFriday sale! We'll also be releasing several new items through the day, including new plush and pins! See you there. ✌️
McVee @violetmcvinnie So I had an interesting habit when I worked at BioWare. The day after we finished making a game I'd always throw together a quick video envisioning what it would be like if our characters would just kiss and make up. I'd need to find the Dragon Age version again.
McVee @violetmcvinnie My only involvement with Kai Leng was figuring out how to finish him. Originally he was just going to die in combat. But after reading his story I insisted that we had to let the player stab the bastard in the gut with an interrupt action. I got approval and made the sequence.😎

But... does it give real Mako experience?

It would be interesting to see the replica outside its box, if it can be removed at all. Like the weapons in the actual game, this replica looks oddly two-dimensional, like an almost flat image of a gun glued to several layers of thick cardboard.

It is a resin piece (so 3D), but it's possible it's only finished on one side.

I'm not sure I'm happy about Mass Effect branching out to TV/Streaming/Movies.
I don't want it to be Shepard/Trilogy retelling, no matter in what form.
Would be ok with something standalone, whether expensive live action or animated.
I'm not sure I'm happy about it either. Recent adaptations/new content like Foundation, Lord of the Rings and Wheel of Time have all fallen flat to me. Not bad but sort of "eh". LotR is the best of them and Foundation probably the most boring thing I've ever watched.
