How many DA games will you live to see after "DAD'?

I'm forty-two now and the life expectancy for Australian women is eighty-three (an age both of my grandmothers exceeded despite sharing several of my medical conditions) so even if they stick with ten-year age gaps I'll hopefully live to see Dragon Age 8.

i'm not sure the number of years between games matters.

But as i am in my thirtys it will be a few more.

Depends - if Dreadwulf turns out to be a failure the number of Dragon Age games I will live to see after it will be zero I guess.

IF its a successful game then I'd say maybe three more games. If I can find a way to stop eating too much cake and find a reason to live maybe four.

Both my parents died before 60 and I'm closing in on 40, so at most 2.

Realistically, we're all going to be dead by the time Dreadwolf comes out. I'm just hoping they let me watch a playthrough while I'm burning in Hell.

They will let you watch it... but only Varric's scenes.

I'm fairly young, so I'm pretty sure I'll live to see the series end. I don't see the number of entries ever reaching the double digits. Even if DA:D does well, my prediction is that at best we'll get three more games or so. At some point, I'd certainly like for Bioware to move on to something else, retire DA to the hall of fame and start a new fantasy IP.

i'm 26, as far as i'm concerned regardless of how well or bad this game does, it's my last one, I lost my interest in this franchise a long time ago, so I just want to finish business and move on, doubt that there is any potential to make me do a 360 turn in my opinion.

I suppose it depends on what the actual story of this franchise is. It began with the Wardens and the 5th Blight, during the first half of the Age of Dragons. Every major plot points since has revealed more details about the origins of the Blight. This 4th chapter will likely deal with Solas and his plans. Then there's Mythal's revenge... If that is still in the cards... How will it play out? Through Solas or through Morrigan? Finally there's a potential cure for the Blight hinted at during Inquisition. I could see a 5th game where the last two Evanuris are released (a double-Blight?) and the 'cure' is found and used to defeat them and the darkspawns.

Once the main story is told, more chapters would feel derivative and formulaic in my opinion.

I'm 44. If DA:D releases in the 'anticipated' window of late '23, I'll be 45. At that point it will have been 8 years since Trespasser. ...Carry the one...

At that rate I'd be 53 by the time DA5 comes out. Nobody has time for that.

Fortunately, I also don't think it'll be an issue. There are two options I see for DA:D.

One - it fails. DA:D is the last DA game until EA lets another studio reboot it some time down the track.

Two - it 'breaks even' or better. Given the development costs it will have to absorb from the reboots, for DA:D to genuinely make a profit will be remarkable and prompt EA to say to Bioware 'you are a two IP studio. ME5 is next, then DA5 straight after.' Or something along those lines, in which case we'll get DA games more frequently. And if that happens then I'm guessing I'll get two or three more before they wrap the series.
