Well EA Games is no more its now EA Entertainment. Sorry for the Clickbait Headline but i couldn´t help myself because besides the name and that EA Sports is a more seperate unit within EA i don´t see much change.  "Electronic Arts is undergoing a major internal shakeup, announcing today in a message from CEO Andrew Wilson that it is realigning its major studios and its leadership structure in an effort to "empower our creative teams." "
Edit: But yeah EA Games Challenge Everything is dead.

From the article, it doesn't sound like it should change too much for BioWare. The name change suggests they want to expand more into TV/movies, so maybe DA and ME IPs will be leveraged more. There was that Mass Effect live-action show rumored a while back.

Dude, that thread title... Well to be fair i said EA Games not Electronic Arts.  For Bioware Edmonton this is correct but Bioware Austin this has much consequences because EA's big reorganization they don´t exist any longer. By the way call me crazy but the article doesn´t mention Criterion Games (Need for Speed and before that Burnout) and PopCap Games (Plants vs Zombies). I hope that EA doesn´t close them too.

I remember Mark Darrah talking about how he had (hoped?) EA would split off the sports titles into their own division and have the rest of the games in another, each with their own criteria for success.
Given the timing, I'm assuming he must have heard something.

This could also be another step towards selling off (pieces/all) of the company.  We've heard they've been looking for buyers for years now. Shedding the FIFA license, staff cuts, splitting up their gaming division, etc., are all moves that make them more affordable. |

Who would be their potential buyers? Microsoft and PlayStation? They've had acquisition/merger discussions with NBCUniversal, Disney, Apple, and Amazon in the past. As they become more affordable, more companies could take an interest. Especially if they were willing to sell off one of their new divisions.

Okay looking into it I don’t think they were fully owned by Microsoft, but the group that owned them and Microsoft had an exclusivity deal. That’s why ME1 was released only on Xbox for like half a year. |

Although I wouldn't personally care either way, I know there are a lot of people who would. I always thought Dragon Age was better written, but ME world is more appealing to a broader customer base, so I feel like even with the sale, it'd be okay?

I have no trust that a sale wouldn't just kill the whole thing. Before last year, I would have said you'd have nothing to worry about on that score. The investment - to date - wouldn't have been the cost of the new ownership so the release of DA:D would be all win for them. Then Discovery bought Warner Bros and the completed - aside from VFX and sound editing - Batgirl movie got nuked and the production costs - paid by the previous ownership - were used as a tax write-off for Discovery, so anything is possible, I guess. I still think it would be unlikely, just...not impossible.
