Their is general DA lore. Witch new and old player maybe need for more understanding of the world.

I went and had a look. I found 8 channels being very upset that the game was 'woke' (alongside other videos being upset about POC, women in Star Wars & other franchises). None were candidates for our list it has to be said.

I feel like I should mention my channel (Watchman Gaming), I have a playlist of my own dragon age lore videos, but I must admit I haven’t actually made a Dragon Age lore video in awhile.

Well, I’m planning to make more coverage after the gameplay reveal next week.

This is not something I worry about. Inquisition caught a ton of nonsense over Cass, Sera, etc, and the result - BioWare best-selling, best-reviewed game. 10m+ sales.

The only thing that would concern me is if there was a glaring issue(s) with the game itself at launch. That'd be something that could hurt broader sales.

My concern was over the fact that it is 10 years since DAI and whilst I know there has always been controversy over some of the content even back as far as DAO, somehow the whole culture wars thing seems to have blown up and intensified since then. There will be a whole new set of gamers who were never old enough to play the games before and I was just concerned at how they might be negatively influenced.

What I also really objected to was that the ones I checked out were basing much of their assertions purely on the personal details of people working on the game. I remember this was a case with some people when Corinne was made Creative Director, with some suggesting she only got the role because of DEI, which made me furious at the time because she had been with Bioware for years, working her way up the ranks, so to my mind had earned the position on merit. This was also before they started the cull of staff members in 2023 which would have reduced the size of the pool of established employees to choose from.

Anyway, I do know the reliable sites on line so if anyone was to ask me which they should watch, I would naturally point them in that direction. Or suggest they come to these boards.

I am trans myself and despised Inquisition honestly.

Going from the tone of Origins and the prior entry, to honest to God breaking out into song and the like just lost me, I also think the gentrified the Qun to make it more palatable.

Using "woke" as criticism's just for the weak, it's especially so since Bioware always strongly featured diverse peoples.

I think I've got them all now.

I'm waiting on Saria and The Kingdom to see if the do any Veilguard content, this list has to be relevant.
And Ashe is kind of retiring from it, though she is awesome.

A question for the MOD can we pin this?
So that is doesn't get lost.
I think that would help new people on the forum.
