Unfortunately I think singleplayer DLC is becoming a thing of the past. Just no "quarian ark" scenarios please.

I don't think there will be any dlc or expansions. I thought I heard them say they wanted to deliver a complete story in the released game. I could be misremembering though.

Expansions really aren't that important to me. I wouldn't expect one too soon after launch.

I just hope BW will not pull a Mass Effect Andromeda on us with this one: throwing out 2 lackluster patches and then move on and behave like the game never happened. They concentrated on Anthem after that and we all know how that turned out...
I recently played Dragon Age Inquisition again and man, there are still so many little bugs there. Maintenance is important and helps a games longevity, but it does not seem like it is BWs strong suit. I hope they will treat DA:VE a bit better and organise themselves accordingly. But that seems to depend on DA:VEs financial performance.

It wouldn't surprise me if they do. Why not? If the game sells well and there's more money to be made, and more goodwill to be had, why not? This is the game that will revitalize Bioware's reputation if it does well. Why not ride that wave as far as it can go and then look at other IPS? And if they do it, how about a dlc focusing on Hawke or the Inquisitor. We need closure on that. No headcanon.

I would assume if the game sells well it will get at least one DLC, and at most three DLCs like DA:I did. In both DA2 and DA:I, they used the last DLC to tease the next game. I could certainly see them continuing that tradition here. Whether they would have additional DLCs that are less critical to the story path is less clear. ME5 is still so far off that I can't see BioWare and EA passing up some sure quick DLC money (plus the sales from a subsequent gold or, fingers crossed, GOTY edition) just to make faster progress on it. Also, I feel like any statements about delivering a complete experience are marketing and hedging against future decisions. Cancelling the Andromeda DLC made them look even worse in an already bad situation. On top of breaking my goddamn heart.

My fears over the game's content have been largely put to rest after watching the showcase, and now I'm cautiously looking forward to the game, which is something I never thought I'd find myself saying a years or so ago when it seemed that the game would be nothing more than a multiplayer-only horde mode looter shooter with no single player campaign, stuffed to the brim with loot boxes and microtransactions.
But my fears over the game itself have been replaced by fears over the franchise's long-term future, because it's very possible that this is going to be the last game in the series.
It don't take a weatherman to know which way the wind blows, and looking at the current 'weather' among certain factions on the internet and beyond it's very, very clear that Veilguard's going to suffer an almost unprecedented amount of politically-motivated review bombing and an absolutely massive, unceasing barrage of concentrated online hate by certain Youtube 'influencers' - probably to an extent that makes the attacks on Starfield seem mild in comparison.
Don't dismiss the impact of these kinds of attacks. These kind of attacks were enough to get Star Wars The Acolyte cancelled, it was enough to absolutely trash the game Concord immediately upon release causing player numbers to dip into three digits, and that's just for starters.
When Veilguard suffers from the inevitable bombardment, it's very likely to cause investors to do a double take over any plans for future expansions or DLC. It could also very easily kill the entire franchise, or possibly even Bioware themselves stone dead.

I think the prior writers would likely have confidence in the remaining writing team to tell their respective characters well. Yall forget that these people have been together for at least a decade or more.
I think the bigger question that will decide whether there's DLC (let alone an expansion) is whether the game sells well, and how quickly they need to have the DA team to start helping with the next Mass Effect game.

Concord is down to double digits now but yeah Biowaqre's existence i s a trisk her eif Veilguard doesn' t sell it'll be the end of Bioware not just Dragon Age but likely Mass Effect as well. Stil if it is then it was good while it lasted I do hop eVeilguard does succeed though as it's looking a good game. I can definitel ysee it being as much fun t opla yfo rme a sDAI is a tleast if th estor yand characters aer good. Th eon ething tha t ma ysave Veilguard is that it's bein gsold on al lth ebi gapps s oth efac ttha tit's no tdoing necessarily well on Stea mdoesn' tmean it's not doin gwel elsewhre as I bought it on the EA app and I believe it's being sold on the Epic storefront too. But I thin konl ytime wil tell a tthis point. I do hope tha tif this truly does end up being the last DA though that Veilguard gives it a really good send off. Dragon Age and Bioware at leas tdeserve that. Whilst I don' tthink we'l lge tDLC I am hop8ing it does well enough t obe spared

It could also very easily kill the entire franchise, or possibly even Bioware themselves stone dead. I am not as concerned. Disney is a see-what sticks company with very little faith in their series. They make a ton of shows, and dump anything that isn't a massive success. The Acolyte was an uneven show, and didn't have great viewership as a result (though I will sorely miss it because even if flawed, it was a breath of fresh air for the Skywalker-saga-centric Star Wars cinematic universe). And Concord seems like a very ill-conceived proposition. You can read Paul Tassi's article to see why.

If the game sells well I think we should get some singleplayer/story DLC. It seems that Bioware is willing to put out DLC for around a year tops before they want to move people to other projects.
Time between game release and last DLC.
ME2: 1 year and 2 months DA2: 7 months
ME3: 1 year
DAI: 10 months
DA2 is shorter but that's because it's last DLC was canceled. You also have MEA that dropped it's planned story DLC altogether because of it's reception.
Personally I look forward to any more story content if the game is enjoyable. I'd like to see them support a game with story content longer than a year, but I know the amount of players that actually buy DLC is really low and that makes it not as feasible.
