Character Creator

WolfheartFPS posted a CC-specific video. As someone considering a male dwarf for first playthrough, this was nice to see. Really wish we could have body hair for a dwarf, but I guess tattoos/paint will have to suffice. Good hair and beard options it seems. And nice to hear both male voice options and that you can lower voice pitch.

I think even Kala commented that everyone seems a bit short (and stumpy, IMO) - same impression I had. It’s not a huge deal, but it’s there. 🤷‍♀️

Can you create tall and short characters? The female human always looked a little short lol.

The Qunari debacle: so, when the Devs were saying like "don't judge until you see the CC, that was just one baby-faced Qunari, made that way intentionally by the player" - it was BS. Just as I thought. The foreheads are still foreheadin'. Hear me out.

Gonna use the Asari and perhaps it's not the best example, but just to illustrate my point:


See how the scales and patterns from the scalp gradually fade as they come down into the face, softly blending, transitioning into the smoother skin areas?

That's literally all they have to do with the Qunari here. It's not the size of the foreheads that's jarring (actually makes them look more inhuman and cool), it is just how damn smooth they are. Add some ridges/roughness to the area, coming down from the horns and gradually blending into the forehead/face. That's it. It would solve this "issue" by a good 90%, I promise you. And look I don't really care, because I don't play Qunari, but for those of you who do, and BioWare if they care at all, there's still time. It's a problem of easy solution. Because 10 years from now we'll be still hearing about how Qunari foreheads ruined Veilguard or whatever. And it's fn' stupid. Ugh.

And they don't even need to redo Taash, like if that's a deterrent, companions *can* look unique. Artistic license. See ^; Peebee had eyebrows. Whatever.

I don't think so either. Just saying, in case it's a deterrent at all and they didn't want to make any alterations to her character model (they shouldn't, Taash looks awesome, IMO).

Yeah, I think the simpler fix is just to have some of the keratonous scaling come down the forehead a bit. It won't be a complete remedy, but it would make it bit more appealing. I think the horns could also come a slight bit forward so the forehead doesn't have to jut out as much.

I'm still not really interested in the game. But they deserve credit for that character creator. Definitely one of the best I've seen. BG3, and Dragon's Dogma 2 were by far 2 of my favorites. But the amount of choice here, really upped the bar.

Edit: Bro just saw a video with all the hairstyles. Bioware really want me to buy this game, BEST MOHAWKS IN GAME EVAAAA!!!! I am so torn.

The only thing that I found was lacking, was the butt and chest slider. I've seen videos where people maxed out the butt slider and man it was just flat. Where's the love for people that have more in those sections!

I think the triangle slider/body mass slider would affect other sliders, indeed. 

The IGN CC journalist did mention that she gave her Rook a 'hell of an ass', so we'll see.
