Oh I finally got it, whom the walking style reminds me of - Archon.

If it is really far in the future and no time travel or stasis is ivolved all humans, quarians, batarians, salarians and Turians from Shepards time are dead.
Even if Shepard survived ME3 he is also dead.
Only Krogans, Asari and AI can still be Alive.
But Wrex, Samara and Aria are pretty old at the end of ME3. So they are most likely dead, too.
Grunt, Liara, Edi and the Geth are the only ones that could still be alive.
With the helmet and the N7 Armor the person in the Trailer is most likely a human and a Alliance Soldier. That rules out Ryder Junior.
So i think the person in the Trailer is someone new

Cryo sleep is a thing with Mass Effect. So this character could be anyone. i am pretty sure that right now, many players would rather have my cerberus phantom character than play as Shepard again.

What do you all think of the clothing/suit aesthetic?

As one living in the "frozen lands" the clothing looks ... warm

What do you all think of the clothing/suit aesthetic? Mixed, but better than I felt about Shepard's N7 armor and Ryder's AI armor. Both things I tolerate for the sake of everything else. The militaristic element of Mass Effect is something that I accept as part of the setting and I want respected like I want anything written well, but its far from my primary appeal. This coat and almost-alien (helmet?) feeling is at least more my thing. It might be done so wrong, but by itself, it has me intrigued. I'd rather be more of an adventurer than a soldier so things are already off on the right foot. Really everything so far besides such a Liara focus has been all in the acceptable range for me. And I can take Liara happening, I just cringe at her being THE teaser character and suggesting she's everywhere again. She's far from my top 5, or maybe 10, or possibly even 15 ME characters but she just, keeps, appearing, and never with enough of a quality storyline to fully justify it.

I suspect Liara was chosen for last year's teaser because she was young enough in ME3 to still be around centuries later, and the alternatives - Grunt, EDI or a Geth - are not as popular or iconic as characters. Simply by having Liara shown was a clear hint that we could be back to the MW or at least have some kind of connection to it. Liara's character as a scientist and shadow broker is also a great way to have exposition at the start of the new game. Grunt telling you about what has happened over the past centuries in terms of culture, politics, etc. just wouldn't be the same as coming from Liara.

I disagree.
Creepy Shepard obsessed writers pet blueberry vs "a little spicy noodles, breaking out of the hospital, climbing statues, lighting up police shuttles on fire" - Grunt telling you about whatever has happened...

A teaser of Grunt enjoying some spicy noodles at the fishdog food shack would have me infinitely more hyped than…..whatever it is they’ve been doing so far.
