What got me was no official release date. They're playing it fast and loose. Indeed. I mean in hind sight it kind of makes sense given the hyper sensitive nature of everything on the internet these days if there is another delay they don't want the internet to go 'what but you said it would be released on march 21st!' and then speculate on how horrible it is going to be. But still, I kind of want a release date before I decide to pre order the game.

Honestly, I'm happy with what we got. We had confirmation of all the new features and skills, voice actors and a trailer. We got to see more of the Ryders, you can see a Salarian running during a shoot-out ; which confirms Salarians are for a fact in. I could be wrong, but I thought I saw a Turian as well. I can't wait for more.

It's sad when an info dump can get you more hyped up for a game than an official trailer. Did BioWare lose the ability to make amazing trailers during the braindrain? I am curious: When do you say the brain drain began? And if you are looking for greatness in everything that comes out? That's a good question, I would guess around the time of ME3. As for for why I'm looking for greatness, I guess I'm looking for them to regain my confidence so to speak. Right now they are not doing all too bad except fumbling with the lore, staff leaving, constant delays, very little to show despite the time, and a few nitpicks. If they can pull off a ME game that doesn't insult my intelligence, my confidence in BioWare will be renewed.

To your first point then, I thought DA Is marketing campaign was phenomnal. And the trailer was not especially bad per se, at least imo. But just not great

Actually, this N7 day did have some nice cringe from BioWare, or more accurately, from Cameron Lee.

*˛˚ღ •˚˚*• ★ *˚♥-(MEA)- .ღ 。~♥~˚ ✰* Quite innovative, in a way.
Have the Initiative Training videos as a way to provide background information, while the game concentrates on the "game". It should be doing that anyway.
I'm just wondering what laughable in-game gear we will be getting, after we successfully pass the "training".
I really like the marketing approach they're using, aside from the heavy involvement of GI. Still, even that is a minor hurdle. The training reward is a specialized Pathfinder helmet; at least for the initial stage. The training program tells you what you'll get once you complete the initial training vid. (You may already know this, but it wasn't clear from your post.) The helmet appears to be of a design we've frequently seen in past videos and images. It will probably be solid gear, until the first "Firepower DLC" pack drops.

New trailer, the Andromeda Initiative website, a butt ton of new information from Game Informer, and ME2 and ME3 being backwards compatible on X-box One? Man. Yeah. I'm, like, bored to DEATH with all this un-excitement. Maybe I should go fire up some ME3 multiplayer on my Xbone to see if I can feel anything, since, you know, I can do that now. Pretty much this.... the more I think about what we got, the more I'm in love with it. I had my initial "But But But the Reapers?" moment due to 2185, but the more I think about it, the more this works better for the story. Let's do this. Oh, and LET'S ALL JUMP BACK INTO N7 MULTIPLAYER ON OUR XBOX ONES!!!!

I'm fortunate that it even worked for me.

Question is will Bioware actually hit their goals stated in their interviews. ME3 already burned a good number of us from trusting Bioware.

ME3 already burned a good number of us from trusting Bioware. 5 years have gone by, there is a huge potential new audience that didn't play the trilogy. As for those that did, I don't see those that were invested enough to care, walking past a new installment, even if post launch.

Exactly: It's been 5 years, let's move on to the next chapter of Mass Effect delights: plus we have BC for the Trilogy now (with Multiplayer rejuvenation!) I have to say, for those of us that like the Trilogy as it is (I love ME3+DLC+IndocTheory), the constant drone of despair over the last half decade about the last 10 minutes of Shepard's adventure really does entangle my quantum gears somewhat XD

Having a low level of confidence should be considered "normal" for those that felt burned.

Honestly I'm a bit underwhelmed by this N7 day. No livestream a few teaser trailers and some tweets is about it. Aside from the reveal of the voice actors. Last years livestream with the devs and their talking about the game plus those cliche videos of people working on the game was more interesting.

Yeah, it was disappointing. And left me really bitter on how expensive the game is now here. DAI/ME3 deluxe was R$129 on release, meanwhile ME:A is going to be R$249, with normal version being R$200. I'm not buying this game unless there is a deep discount.

I got most of details I wanted to know, which scream "Inquisition" as I only suspected until this day. Can't say I'm happy about them, but it was informative enough. Now I only need to know remaining squadies and see a proper gameplay finally. After that I can enter info blackout in peace.

For me it was more ME3 in general, but the ending cemented the deal. I feel it was the moment where the story could've either turned out completely amazing or terrible and it ended up being terrible and it's bad because it affects the rest of the narrative. The entire plot hinges on devices both narratively and lore-wise that turn out to be completely contrived harkening all the way back to ME1. The Reapers had that imposing ominousity throughout all 3 games even before the war. By the end of ME3 they felt like a bad joke to me -- that DOES mean something to my understanding of the entire arc and not just the last 10 minutes. I might as well admit I am one of the followers of Smudboy -- I think he makes excellent if a bit overdone analyses sometimes but his arguments resonate with me and I think he put it best that ME3 wasn't a completely meaningless drivel but the last few hours made it so.
