This instant PeeBee negativity is mind boggling to me To each their own I suppose. Personally I'm enthusiastic about the info we have so far on her, and Liam is sounding like Kaiden / Jacob 2.0 but I remain open minded nonetheless. Thanks for posting the whole Q&A Lady Sif! Easier than digging through the Reddit thread.

I don't mean that in the sense of specific gameplay mechanics, but more in the desire to broaden the scope and make the world feel bigger, and to give players a wider variety of rewarding activities. That bit in particular scares me, because it screams 'fetch quests'. I hate fetch quests in general but especially the ones that were included in DA:I--if I'm the leader of a giant Inquisition with a mission to save the world why am I the one going out and finding Random Townswoman's lost amulet? Plus, in DA:I the landscapes felt open but ultimately empty and bland. They were pretty to look at but not a whole hell of a lot to do in them. I'm REALLY hoping this doesn't turn out to be just 'DA:I In Space'. Me too, and to add to that, the areas were generally encountering the same mob of enemies over and over and over and over...again! Combat was grindy and repetitive and generally just stale as hell outside of dragon encounters and a few other fights. And I really don't have a problem with them pushing exploration but they need to weave good story telling into and provide me with agency outside of "we're running low on magic space rocks to run the generator..." Piss off, get off your ass and look for your own "insert resource here" and stop wasting my time!

Personally I'm enthusiastic about the info we have so far on her, and Liam is sounding like Kaiden / Jacob 2.0 but I remain open minded nonetheless. Thanks for posting the whole Q&A Lady Sif! Easier than digging through the Reddit thread. I don't understand either. I prefer my squadmates not being mindless followers, and having an actual personality, even if it happens to be one I don't like at first. At least it doesn't leave me indifferent. This is why I find Ashley more interesting than Kaidan. While I disagreed with Anders on every moral principles, he still brought something to the narrative. Same for Jacob, albeit on a smaller scale since his impact on the general narrative was comparatively less important. Still, he was a character I could like to dislike, if it makes sense. I actually found it great that there was one character who moved on after ME2, including romanticaly. Sera, well, I neither liked or disliked her. While I disagreed with her method, I could definitely see where she came from. I didn't use her any more or less than any other squadmates, with Cassandra being the exception (as my Inquisitor was a rogue, I needed a solid, reliable tank first and foremost...) As it is, PeeBee is still too much of an unknown for me to determine how much I will like/like to dislike her. Same for Liam. Judging a character over a five lines general descriptions sounds hasty and shallow, honestly. Characters should be allowed to have their own personality and morality, whether with agree with them or not, otherwise, that's just boring.

Moreover, the fisrt time we saw her in gameplay she was wearing a barely closed jacked in an alien environment, saying things like "off the charts" and rolling over objects with her legs wide open. Last but not least, can't forget this: So I can't really blame people for disliking her. Moreover, she is an Asari that many people don't find attractive. That's like a fish that can't swim! Personally, I don't feel anything for the character, which seems a very reasonable thing if you ask me.

This instant PeeBee negativity is mind boggling to me Hate at first sight I guess. Some people found her ugly in E3 trailer. Then we saw her naked belly while everyone else took hermetic armor to dangerous alien vault for some reason. I don't know about others, but I instantly remembered these breathing mask in vacuum. These things are bad for my immersion apparently. After that we saw bits of her character which had some resemblance of Sera (except "smart" part of course) which isn't brightest BW moment as well.

Easier than digging through the Reddit thread. No problem ! Right now I have a feeling I'm not going to like Peebee. That being said I'm keeping an open mind. We really don't know very much about her yet. She is starting to remind me of Sera from DAI, who I was convinced I was going to hate, but she ended up being one of my favorite companions from the game. Hopefully it's the same for Peebee. I don't think she's ugly though. I think she's very pretty, but everyone has a different opinion of who they think is pretty. I'm just looking forward to learning more about her and Liam. Especially Liam. He sounds like my type of guy.

Personally, I don't feel anything for the character, which seems a very reasonable thing if you ask me. There are plenty of not attractive asari in the trilogy. Not to mention that her face changed a lot from the E3 behind the scene trailer and now. I don't see the problem if someone don't like her appearance (I'm not a fan though she's definitely not ugly or the worse looking asari we saw from ME to now), and have concerns on the little we know about her, but sometimes people went and go overboard.

My first reaction to her is rather unattractive both in terms of the snippets of characterisation we have got as well as looks. Then there's her utterly stupid name. Really wasn't a fan of Sera in DAI either so if she's anything like her i'll likely have little time for her. Keeping my fingers crossed for better news from rest of squad.

Calling her ugly, manly or that it's weird she's not attractive because asari are (while it's not true, at all, for all asari) is a bit overboard, in my opinion. I do hope her real name will be revealed soon and the nickname won't be used often, but I think it's more likely her real name will come up in her dialogues, so she'll be called by most as Peebee.

Yeah there's a lot of hyperbole flying around because we've got very limited info on a very limited number of characters. I don't think it's a problem that i don't find her attractive, though i'm personally somewhat nervous of a repeat of my companion disappointments of DAI.

Liam is starting to give me some Alistair vibes, or maybe a Human version of Garrus. I need him. Me too!!! My thoughts exactly. Throw in a dash of Dorian and I'm on my knees begging. What I want FOR ONCE from Bioware is a love interests for the ladies (or both sexes, I'm willing to share) is a CHEERFUL love interest. No more moping. No more self-doubt. No more ending the world drama (GTFO Anders and Solas, I swear...). I want an easygoing optimistic guy with a great sense of humor who's sweet but not boring. Shouldn't be that hard to do. Oh, and no more virgin characters. This is getting a bit creepy, Bioware. Just saying.

This interview does not fill me with confidence for cool big alien cities. *sigh* I forgot this was a MAJOR failure of DAI. We got this big world but we only got to see a tiny area of Val Royeaux. Really, Bioware? Assassins Creed came out ages ago but you can't pull this off in 2014?? I remember how utterly disappointed I was that this was all we got aside from Skyhold which was at least a fairly big place.
After Witcher 3 I'm done making excuses for Bioware/EA and presumed budget reasons. It can be done. I've seen it. I want more of it. Do it, Bioware!
We never got to see much of anything aside from the Citadel in the trilogy either. Much rather than driving over sand dunes for miles and miles I want to walk the streets of an alien culture. I want to see the Andromeda equivalent of Illium. And Omega. I want to see rich cities, poor settlements. All kinds of stuff.
The trilogy at least did a good job providing glances at other cultures which then all came together beautifully as something much bigger in our minds. We only got to see a tiny tiny area of Illium but we still got a sense of this place. We got a VIEW. We could easily picture this city. Val Royeaux in comparison didn't have a view of anything. It felt really closed. More like a theater stage than an actual city.
If an open city like in Witcher 3 is too big a hassle to program, then at the very least I want something like the Citadel. Connected sections that give the illusion of it being a big place. I hope the arks and Nexus do the trick.
If all we're going to see is identical small settlements for ten people, I'm going to be very disappointed. Imagine the cookie cutter colonies in the trilogy were all we ever got. Had sad that would have been.
Shit, now I'm worried again. Always flip-flopping between being super excited and thinking it will suck. >_<

Witcher 3 showed if can be done, we can have a huge "open world" map and still have big settlements inside of it. But as you said this is the ME team we are talking about so changes are that they will make some really good colony areas.

Well, she got a stupid name and a stupid face to begin with. Moreover, the fisrt time we saw her in gameplay she was wearing a barely closed jacked in an alien environment, saying things like "off the charts" and rolling over objects with her legs wide open. *snip* So I can't really blame people for disliking her. Moreover, she is an Asari that many people don't find attractive. That's like a fish that can't swim! Personally, I don't feel anything for the character, which seems a very reasonable thing if you ask me. Sure the Asari were supposedly created to fill the 'green space babes' trope, but the lore and culture developed for them over the course of the trilogy changed that. She looks quite different to the Asari we've seen in the trilogy, definitely, but I don't think that's a bad thing - the point of Andromeda is a fresh start with fresh content, right? Give her a chance. Hate at first sight I guess. I've never had an issue with the mid drift shirt jacket thing.. but admittedly I hadn't really considered it in the context of an unfamiliar environment and all. It's hard to say whether it was appropriate or inappropriate given we know little about where they are and what point in the story the tech demo is set. But, I agree it's jarring to see whilst the others are in full armour and helmets. Thanks for responding! Some people love to spread negativity just for the sake of it... In my case i am worried if she is going to be like Sera but for now it's best to wait until Bioware talk a bit more about her. Fair enough to be wary. Sera's reception was and continues to be pretty negative. She's one of my favourites from the Dragon Age series, so I guess that explains my stance. I think PeeBee will surprise us yet, the little snippets they've given us show similarities to Sera - but I trust Bioware to tread new ground here. Looking forward to more info

My main problem with Sera was honestly due to her boiling things down too much and her entire view on the Elven pantheon, so hopefully with a dash of Asari wisdom I'll like PeeBee. Also I'm kind of annoyed with how many people are writing her off because she's 'ugly'. Is her name silly? Yes. But it's about damn time the Asari got to be something more then just the Hot Blue Women race!

Every game there seems to be a character where pre-release it attracts the ire of some fans. For ME2 it was Jack, ME3 Vega. Then the game comes out and those characters become some of the most well-loved. Jack has a huge romance following and Vega is a lot of people's non-Garrus bro.
