Maybe he is one who reflects on the past of the krogan? Wrex was a krogan who focused on the future, from seeing the krogan as having none to giving it his all to grant them one. Grunt was a krogan who focused on the present, not really caring about things other than what was in front of him like his next fight. 

Yes, that would certainly be interesting.  I hope they go for that.

Especially considering how he is considered a grizzly old-timer veteran even by krogan standards. It could be that Drack has been alive for the krogan's entire time of being a spacefaring species. We know krogan can live that long since Patriarch is a veteran of the Rachni Wars. So Drack may have experienced their uprising, the Rachni War, the few centuries the krogan were seen as heroes and a part of galactic society, the Krogan Rebellions, and the time they were looked down upon until modern day. As you said, the perfect source for information for new players as well as Ryder. 

I can see instead of him spouting facts, he can tell war stories like Zaeed did which covers different parts of krogan history. Like for example he can tell a story about "how he landed on some toxic world and stomped a Rachni Queen into muck" and that unlocks the Codex entry for the Rachni and Rachni War.

That is pretty much what I had in mind, no exposition, just let them be their own person and let conversations with them unlock related codex entries. And Zaeed's stories are awesome, I never get tired of them

However, don't take this as me disliking characters that spout exposition, I don't mind them, but it would be much preferable if they were NPCs instead of squadmates...let squadmates be unique and interesting personalities instead of glorified codex entries

I wonder if Drack is gonna end up feeling like the uncle of the group, like Wrex did.

No thanks, sounds like alot of internal bleeding and a shattered pelvis.

I'm hoping that Drack is sort of like a Matriarch Aethyta character; a powerful sage with incredible knowledge and insight who beats the shit out of people in bars and challenges you to drinking competitions. I can't wait to see more of him!
