Also is Robotech any good? It's 80 something episodes so I must know if it is worth getting into. It's OK, but SDF Macross is much better (and only about half as many episodes). I haven't seen the other shows that went into making up Robotech though, so I can't compare them. Oh, and fuck Harmony Gold. |

My major complaints with S1 is the horrible pacing issues and some of the characters.
Other than that, I enjoyed it. The music was pretty beautiful too. The combat is refreshing: instead of pink clouds resulting from a laser hitting the reactor, it's brutal melee combat.

They are currently wrapping up the mermaid arc, or were...I haven't read it in like a year or so, I forgot to renew my subscription to my manga reader, and just never got around to it, so it could be anywhere with the plot by now. I honestly hope he does end up with someone, harem stuff usually just always end up annoying me, because the MC never gets romantically invested in any of them. |

I was just watching this in the last hour! Is it worth watching? I wanna watch it, but over 900 episodes? Pfft. This anime has easily the best plot, story, lore and characters... it's pure awesomeness! It's a mixture of Epic, Drama, Comedy, Fiction and Tragedies! Luffy is a character that can be described as someone between crazy, chaotic neutral and chaotic good! All his crew are interesting characters with interesting backstories and powers. The Navy is consisted of interesting characters. Fair admirals, corrupt ones, super lawful ones etc. There is dozens of pirate groups and other interesting factions in this series. The animation is not top, but acceptable. Nothing to whine about! Best seasons are season 9 onward. But all the seasons are actually very good. 7/10 and above. Season 3 is easily 9/10. Watch the first 3 seasons (130 episodes I think) and you can decide if you want to watch the rest or not! Reposted here. It could have been a better comment if it wasn't 2 AM! |
