I started watching Kenichi Mightiest Disciple. I like it. I thought it was alright. Tried getting into it back when Anime Network would show full season on demand but never got past like episode 5. Last new anime I watched was Attack On Titan season 2. By gawd the amount of flashback were ridiculous. It also felt like most of it was filler with how they'd focus on a single scene for a ridiculous amount of time. My favorite parts are coming up in season 3 though. The Clash is about to commence! :amirite: |

I've been watching Boku no Hero Academia (My Hero Academy). The best way to describe would be a combination of early Naruto and One Punch Man.
For a show with a prototypical "I wanna be the very best like no one ever was" shonen plot, it's pretty good. This is mostly due to the characters, who are fun, likable, and more interesting than typical shonen. The presentation also helps as it doesn't take itself too seriously while still being able to explore some deeper emotional topics.
The major complaint I have about it is the amount of repetition and flashbacks used in the episodes to pad things out. I understand this is a common shonen thing and it makes some sense for a weekly, episodic show, but it did get quite old when watching the episodes back to back.

BokuHero is pretty good. It's one of the only anime I've been following this season (I'm kind of burnt out on anime atm), I've also caught up with the manga and boy does it have some really good moments. Started rewatching Outlaw Star. There's so much that went over my head from the censored Toonami version lol. Still holds up pretty damn well. I've been looking for something else that a more serious sci fi action shonen without mechs. Something that might even be more adult oriented with a serious tone like AoT or GANTZ. Any recommendations?
