It's not just the krogan (more specifically Wrex) or the salarians (cof, Mordin, cof) that enticed fanboys and fangirls. I'm still upset how Male Shep got to romance a quarian over the course of three games, but FemShep didn't even have the chance to.
Kal Reegar was a wasted opportunity. Especially after you saved his life. That's all I'm saying.

As for all this talk about sex, besides the fact that clearly it is possible without serious negative repercussions the romance could always be one that doesn't have that and instead just focus on the romantic aspect of the relationship.

I mean, it doesn't exactly float my boat, but I don't see the harm if others wanted the option? I don't think they're much weirder than the turians, tbh. At least you wouldn't potentially go into anaphylactic shock while having sex. It could be kind of interesting if Bioware actually acknowledged the improbability of the pairing and made it a unique romance with culture clash issues, alien-style, and not just just a copy-paste of a human/human pairing, like they mostly did with the alien LIs in the past (Garrus, Tali and Thane all get mentions of potential physical issues, somewhat infamously in Garrus's case, but aside from Mordin's warnings there's really nothing very unusual or alien about their romances, which I always thought was a bit of a missed opportunity.)
Anyway, I'll leave any potential Krogan LIs for the more adventurous among us, lol, but I can't say I wouldn't find the idea a little intriguing if done properly.

While I'm not interested in what's under the armor, I think a krogan romance would be something interesting to explore. A case where neither party saw it coming? Because honestly I don't see a krogan viewing a human as a potential mate very easily. I just see a very big, violent lizard that doesn't want to admit to liking the squishy human and squishy human being perpetually confused and/or amused over the odd anger issues around them. Human knowingly or not, teasing them that they're cute when angry. Cue angry krogan going to blow something up. Yeah, that's cheesy as hell and it's a good thing I don't work for Bioware. |D
Potential one night stand by curious parties? Although, this would be my least favorite option, because like I said, not really interested in what's under the armor.
Dunno, but it'd be interesting.
