Finished Proven Guilty it is one of my favourites. Anything with Molly in it is good. Stated "Summer Knight" it is amazing how much of the books I have forgotten. i.postimg.cc/yYCpNRGd/Summer-Knight.jpg

I was so caught up in watching series, that I totally forgot that I pre-ordered new books months ago. The books are volume 1, 2 and 3 of "The Collected Poems By JRR Tolkien", edited by Christina Scull and Wayne G. Hammond, who also had help from Christopher Tolkien. He died several years ago, so that gives you an idea how long Christina and Wayne were working on these books. They are always very precise and thorough. Besides all the poems from earlier publications, it also comes with previously unpublished ones. The box set has 1620 milk white pages. Paper and print quality are OK. It comes with a matching blue marker ribbon. The box itself is not printed. Instead it is covered with printed paper, which is easy to damage. Other than that, I am happy with this new publication. The book was officially released yesterday by HarperCollins. Christina and Wayne mentioned that this would be their last work before they retire. They contributed to many of Tolkien's books. Even if you only bought the Lord of the Rings then you read their work, because they corrected many errors and added many entries to the index of the book. I am not a big fan of poetry, but I mainly bought the books because I wanted to show my respect to Christina and Wayne for their awesome work throughout the years. I also collect Tolkien's work (i.e. his texts and art about the legendarium) and not simply his books. I am not interested in his academic works. And something new from Tolkien is rare these days and probably the last time to see a new unique title.

Reading: A 2017 Dragon Award Nominee for Best Horror Novel! Marco is spiraling out of control.
He knows it. His team knows it. Everyone around him can see that he’s just a bomb waiting to explode.
The only woman who can bring him back from the edge is also the woman who lit his fuse. Ever since the demon Asmodeus tried to murder Marco, Amanda Colt has been hunting down every lead to find the true evil behind the attack. Her investigation uncovers a vampire assassin that Amanda has faced once before - and she lost. Stronger than anything they’ve faced before, the assassin isn’t alone. As Marco flirts with self-destruction and the armies of Hell prepare to descend, they must come together to stop a thousand-year-old assassin that has never failed.
Even worse, they must finally face up to their feelings for each other! And listening to: Before Hr’ent Golramm became a legendary Enforcer for the Peacemaker Guild, he was a mere candidate. Granted, he was a particularly unusual candidate—only six Oogar had ever successfully graduated from the Peacemaker Academy on Ocono, and Hr’ent would be the seventh. Every candidate must pass a commissioning mission in order to graduate, though, and Hr’ent’s is unsolvable.
The Pushtal of Vorrhurna were once one of the Mercenary Guild’s 37 races. After a series of disastrous contracts, the tiger-like aliens lost their status as mercenaries, and the MinSha seized their home world for defaulting on their debt. Eighty years later, the seven Great Clans are but a shadow of their former selves and have resorted to piracy to survive.
For his commissioning mission, Hr’ent and a small team of bounty hunters must find a way to put a stop to their predations. No one in the Union has figured out how to herd cats to this point, but Hr’ent is a particularly unusual Peacemaker candidate, who isn’t afraid to resort to a bit of gunboat diplomacy to get the Pushtal to listen to what he says, once and for all.

I just finished this book, a lesser well known book by Georg Eliot (Mary Ann Evans) It was surprisingly good imo, very long book, only complaint is that it wrapped up a bit too quick at the end. Time to go back to some sci fi novels for a while, I have a trilogy on my kindle ready to start.

Spinoff of the "Full Metal Superhero" series I've been reading: The Wraith is what would happen if Punisher and Batman had a baby raised by John Wick...
How far would you go to see justice done? How far is too far? For Madisun the answer is simple. There are people in this world that need killing, and she's just the woman for the job!
From the bestselling author of the Full Metal Superhero comes an exciting new ongoing series set in the same world as Arsenal.

The Fisherman by John Langan. A horror novel, loving it so far. The writing is quite atmospheric.

On the lost colony planet of Croatoan, the job of the police force is to keep the peace, even if it means turning a blind eye to all varieties of crimes. DCI Lutero Cade knows how to play the game – but when it comes to murder, he is more than willing to rock the boat.
Now, with a serial killer on the loose, Cade knows he’s about to do a whole lot of boat rocking.
But what Cade finds puts him square in the sights of an artificial intelligence that may have its own agenda – and threatens the already shaky foundations of the Five Points, all the way back to the colony’s mysterious origins.

Young women are turning up dead, exsanguinated by a killer who leaves strange and powerful symbols behind, drawn in his victim's blood. Now Alex Lockerby must stop the killer before he can complete his dark ritual and release hell on the city. Murder isn’t uncommon in a big city, but when young women start turning up dead next to mysterious symbols painted in their blood, the police turn to Alex Lockerby to find the killer. Unfortunately, the bloody symbols aren’t any form of magic Alex knows, leaving him precious little to work with and a nagging feeling that he’d better stop this madman before he finishes whatever spell he’s attempting.
Adding to the list of unknown symbols, Alex is called to the murder of a woman who worked with government secrets. She was found with strange coded markings written on a blackboard near her body. To make matters even more confusing, several robberies have been perpetrated by a highly skilled gang of thieves. Among the stolen articles were ingredients used by alchemists. These cases seem random and unconnected, but Alex can’t shake the feeling that they’re part of something bigger.
With a brutal killer on the loose, Alex must figure out an unknown magic, catch a group of professional thieves, and learn what government secrets the murdered woman might have passed on…and to whom. With luck, he might even be able to do it before the blood killer completes his dark ritual, and unleashes hell on the city.

Recently I bought some new pans and some of those are types that I have never used. So I bought some cookbooks to get familiar with those. Four of these books are Dutch, so I won't go into them all, except the one with an English title about meat. Why on earth needs a Dutch cookbook an English title? I have no idea. I bought it because I suspected that some of the other books had some vegetarian recipes in them. And yes, one had both meat and vegetarian recipes. Sigh. That's why I bought that additional cookbook specialized in meat (and thus spend additional money!) to make up for that nonsense. I also spotted a cookbook for Middle-earth dishes. It's called "Recipes from the World of Tolkien", written by Robert Tuesley Anderson. The 176 page hardcover has many lovely color illustrations. The paper and print quality is great, but the pages are glued. That binding is fine, because it matches its price. There are two versions of the book. One for the UK and one for the USA. Since I wanted the recipes using the metric system, I opted for the UK version, but the online store was not clear which version was what. By looking up the ISBN on other online stores I was able to order the correct one. And I was right, the UK version used metric. What bothers me a bit are the art deco fonts and design. I have no idea what that art form has to do with Middle-earth. Of course the book also had little to do with what Tolkien wrote, because the descriptions that he gave were mostly not clear enough to create recipes from, let alone a cookbook. Obviously, it seems that the author of this book thought otherwise. I bought it for fun anyway. For an example: There is a recipe for lembas bread. According to the lore very few elves knew its recipe and were able to give the way bread its magical properties. I rather wished the author mentioned that and didn't publish the recipe for those reasons. Some things need to remain a mystery. I like the book anyway, because the recipes are original and many could have come from that world, if only all of the ingredients were available there. But I think nobody expects the book to be genuine, though. However, I don't dare to look that up on Reddit.
