I have a feeling Vetra will be a mostly "by the book" Turian, but will have a rebellious streak and questioning of authority that will develop over the course of the game.
90 percent sure her voice will sound somewhat deep with a "techy" accent.

I'll give her this.
She wins the most serious looking character so far award.

I'd prefer her to be more by-the-book (at first) and have to be convinced of bending the rules on occasion. Would make her a more "traditional" Turian and prevent her coming across as just a distaff counterpart of Garrus. If anything, she'd be more like the Turian version of Aveline from DA2. If Vetra does turn out to rule-abiding, I have a suspicion she'll frequently clash with Peebee, who hates rules in general.

I hope she is a rule breaker. Maybe she grew tired of it. Garrus was about way more then breaking the rules

Really liking the gender-switch this time round for the new characters(Garrus-Vetra, EDI -SAM, female krogan engineer etc.Well ,it was kind of predictable but still. This leaves me with hope for a male Quarian (Who I would looooove to see unmasked, thank u very much!) Anyways, I think I am going to like Vetra.Unless they make here totally unlikable/hard to please or approach no matter what. (Like Sten in DAO, who I personally liked by whatever my character did , he was always cold ) As far as romancing goes, even if she is bi I don't think I will romance her with my FemRyder, unless she is extremely charming.Don't get me wrong ,Turian ladies are beautifully designed but at first glance, she looks like someone my character will be best friends with. I like my romanceable turians ,male hehe wait a female krogan engineer

In terms of her abilities, I'm expecting a soldier with tech-leanings, I guess. In a vacuum, just looking at her model and thinking about what I'd like to see, I'd have said maybe a Cabal biotic? We've had Nyreen, though. We also have PeeBee, and allegedly Cora is a biotic. (How surprising would it be if PeeBee's biotics were minimized in favor of her tech skills?) Vetra looks tough, to me, and the name even sounds no-nonsense. I wouldn't mind if she were simply the best pure soldier of the companions. Where would that leave Drak? In a different thread, I suppose, with a biotic or tech supplement to his skills. He does look like a straight killer, though; so again, my guess is Vetra's a techie-soldier. wait a female krogan engineer I can't quite tell if this is a question. If so, the engineer in question is Nakmor Kesh, Chief Engineer of the Nexus.

Vetra being slightly uptight in terms of personality would make sense if she was a Biotic, because the Cabal do have to work extra-hard if they want to be accepted and trusted by the rest of the Turian military.
What if she was a former member of Blackwatch, the elite Turian special forces group tasked with safeguarding Palaven? Would be harder to explain why she'd leave for Andromeda, but it'd give her a cool backstory and perhaps teach us more about the Turian Hierarchy.

I'm one of the people who believes Drack will be a Shaman, which (if true) makes for quite a few biotics users. I'm expecting Liam to be soldier-y as an ex-cop. Garrus was an infiltrator-type (albeit without cloak), so I am guessing Vetra will not be an infiltrator. So I'm still hopeful Vetra will be an engineer. Sentinel may be less likely since we already seem to have three biotics users and my guess is they'll try to have at least one squaddie from each of the traditional classes. My guesses: Cora: Vanguard or Sentinel Drack: Shaman Adept or Vanguard PeeBee: Adept or Sentinel Vetra: Engineer Liam: Soldier or Infiltrator Andromedan native:Soldier or Infiltrator Companion 7? Explorer?

Cora: Adept [if she's who I think she is, she doesn't look like the toughest person] PeeWee: Sentinel [she's a tech fascinated nerd but it's not an Asari unless it plays with Biotics] Perhaps Drack is Krogan Shaman Vanguard. [note Shaman not Battlemaster. Make him more Biotic than Soldier to differentiate him from Wrex] Vetra seems to have the stereotypical quietness of an engineer. [luckily all Turians are great with rifles] Liam: Soldier [We already experienced starting with a male human sidekick Vanguard in Jacob]
The Synthetic a melee focused infiltrator. [SHADOW STRIKE FTW]
Andromedan some sort of Biotic. A marker of the great powers in Androma

What makes people think that Shaman is a job for a biotic? In ME3MP Krogan adept was shaman. That and the fact that in my mind shaman implies some kind of magic and biotics are space magic (although Eve seemed like she wasn't a biotic and she was a shaman of female clan... )

I just had Codex entry on krogan biotics in my head "Biotics are rare among the krogan, especially since the practice of surgically creating krogan biotics has been discontinued (due to the high mortality rate). Those that exist are viewed with suspicion and fear.". To me it seems that "suspicion and fear" is not the most desirable quality for a mentor role. Well, in case of krogans "fear" part kinda is. Also Shaman on Tuchanka never mentioned being biotic, so I just assumed he isn't.

Shaman is just a quasi-religious figure, and shouldn't carry with it any magical overtones in the Mass Effect setting. Krogan biotics require biotic amps, anyway, so there go any magical overtones.

Although he might have earned their respect as a Battlemaster, since they are regarded as being extremely tough, even for Krogan.

Heh, I was talking with Seracen about this just yesterday, and brought it up in a really long blog entry on the whole gameplay trailer earlier this evening. Excerpting (and editing slightly due to the lack of screenshots) the bit specifically about Vetra: So ... yeah. She's probably the biggest reason I've begun to really look forward to this game, aside from my plans to do a couple of playthroughs for my new gaming channel.

I love all the love being shown here for Vetra! Here are some fanpics of Vetra and female Turians that I hope they take inspiration from and put into the game! Other spicy links: ;O Bayzee Oc Credit to Bayzee on Devart and Asketchbookthing on tumblr! I loved Garrus in ME1-3 and my canon is him and Femshep. Now with Andromeda I think I might make a male Ryder to fall for her!

Hm, if we're at it about good fanart. I suggest you folks check out the stories written by author going by the nickname xeno-sapian. I've went through both stories from this author already: - A Matter of Race and Character - A Matter of Time and Space (sequel)Very nice writting and you gotta admit, the author really devotes him/herself (?) into this story (and belive me this is a loooong story). You can find those stories at xeno-sapian.deviantart.com/ or at www.fanfiction.net/
