Relax, I'm telling you like before, that Vetra is 100% romanceable. They introduced Vetra obviously, because a female turian in team was (and is) a very popular demand in ME community and those same demands always wanted that female turian to also be romanceable. Now, why would even Bioware listen to the community only halfway? I'm absolutely sure she can be romanced by male Ryder (after FemShep, its time for a dude to have a thing with a turian gal). I'm not entirely convinced she will be romanceable by femRyder, but a Sis'mance will be possible perhaps? I would love that. ManShep and Garrus Bro'mance was a great thing in ME1-3. Tell that to all the Dwarfmancers...

IMO, Vetra will be romanceable by male Ryder only. Its not like Bioware does not have a precedent for doing this. Cassandra was only romanceable by male Inquisitor. Aveline marries Donnic. Both are strong women. Bioware also has a history of subverting previous expectations, and a strong, possibly stoic woman who just happens to be gay or bi provides new opportunities the writers can explore.

I've heard people guess that about her, because they think if they're going to try to make these characters stand out from the trilogy companions since Garrus was more of a rebel, sort of Chaotic Good, then it stands to reason that she would be Lawful Good, maybe even Lawful Neutral. I'd be down for Chaotic Neutral. I hope she's not a lawful though... honestly. I like a bad ass turian lady.

And wouldn't Cassandra count, too?

I like the idea of a Lawful Neutral, by-the-book type character. It would be a nice contrast to Garrus.

Just saw a bunch of speculation about her height at the beginning of the thread and was surprised that nobody ventured the reason for it being that turians are just that tall. I think Garrus and the other turians of ME trilogy were *supposed* to be that tall, but they just didn't bother with that modeling for the same reason they didn't bother to make fem turians until the very end. If I remember correctly, one of the books mentions that quarians are a bit shorter than humans on average and yet ingame Tali is the exact same height as a krogan. Seems Bioware is actually modeling aliens according to their real heights now, which assuming sexual dimorphism in turians means the male turians from the ME trilogy would be even taller than she is.

Also, if she is not romanceable by broRyder, she might be enough to turn me temporarily gay.

Wow. I didn't know this. Thanks. I always envisioned Turians as taller (and stronger) than humans. When I saw Vetra's height I was quite pleased (and it is nice to know this was always the intent). And in ME3 when Shepard goes to fetch the Quarians, if you romanced Tali you get a cute little scene of them flirting. What was odd is that they messed with the camera (made Shepard closer to the camera and Tali farther back) to create the illusion that Tali was shorter than Shepard (which was odd since she is actually taller than male Shepard). Apparently that was supposed to be Canon as well?

When playing the original trilogy, I noticed the lack of height differences but ignored it. I figured that the game just couldn't handle it. Glad to see we get tall Turians this time around though.

I wonder how tall a male Ryder will be in comparison to Vetra. We might find out on the 4th, though...

I wonder how tall a male Ryder will be in comparison to Vetra. We might find out on the 4th, though... There is a moment in the Dec 2nd footage where male human NPC and female turian NPC stand next to each other and are basically the same height. So either Vetra is a very tall female turian or human men are noticeably taller on average, than human women (this would seem reasonable).

That could be a fun little quirk to add with FemRyder. I can imagine the Ryder twins growing up with him keeping things out of her reach and quickly learning to punch him in the gut and stuff. Actually, now that I think about it, can paternal twins have a height difference?

Actually, now that I think about it, can paternal twins have a height difference? They absolutely can. Identical twins are when a single zygote splits into 2 embryos while fraternal twins are 2 seperate zygotes that become 2 seperate embryos. Essentially, its a matter of 2 eggs being fertilized instead of 1, which happens to all opposite sex twins but can also happen to some same sex twins. Fraternal twins are the same as any other set of siblings, except that they happen to be born at the same time.

It's safe to bet Vetra will be romanceable. It's too bad Turians aren't playable though, it would have made it more interesting.

There are so few of them (6 or 7?), that it would feel kinda lazy to make only few of them romanceable, UNLESS there would be some reasonable plot reasons (for ex. given squadmate already has an established relationship with other character, but its very unlikely).

Makes sense. I haven't given it much thought because she's the only character because she's the only character I'm interested in having my Ryder romance at the moment. That could change when I get the game and play.

I don't see why every companions needs to be romanceable, or what it would be 'lazy'. It takes the same time to write a romance for a companions or a crew member. Bioware is extending the romance content outside of the squad for years, betwee ME and DAI. While this game is supposed to have the highest number of romances, they never said most will be in the squad. DAI already shown Bioware is willing to have some romances outside the squad and not giving two options (for straight and lesbians) in the squad even when they decided to increase the minimum number of romance for everyone to 2. It'll likely work the same way in Andromeda. I doubt it'll top ME2's 6 romances in the squad. For example, I highly doubt Drack will be a romance option. While I do think Vetra has good chances of being a romance option, basing it on the number of squadmates and Bioware making all of them romanceable doesn't really support it, in my opinion.

I doubt all the squadmates will be romanceable. I expect we will have some "stationary" romances such as Josephine and Cullen from DAI.
