I just had Codex entry on krogan biotics in my head "Biotics are rare among the krogan, especially since the practice of surgically creating krogan biotics has been discontinued (due to the high mortality rate). Those that exist are viewed with suspicion and fear.". To me it seems that "suspicion and fear" is not the most desirable quality for a mentor role. Well, in case of krogans "fear" part kinda is. Also Shaman on Tuchanka never mentioned being biotic, so I just assumed he isn't. I dunno, Wrex being a biotic didn't seem to negatively affect his ability to rally the Krogan to his side. Although he might have earned their respect as a Battlemaster, since they are regarded as being extremely tough, even for Krogan. Wasn't it stated somewhere that all Battlemasters are vanguards? IMO, Vetra will be romanceable by male Ryder only. Its not like Bioware does not have a precedent for doing this. Cassandra was only romanceable by male Inquisitor. Aveline marries Donnic. Both are strong women. Miranda, Morrigan and Ash too...I never get to have any fun /pout >_> Kimberly Brooks stated in an interview that she regretted not being able to 'romance Jennifer Hale' It's safe to bet Vetra will be romanceable. It's too bad Turians aren't playable though, it would have made it more interesting. I think all squadmates will be romanceable. There are so few of them (6 or 7?), that it would feel kinda lazy to make only few of them romanceable, UNLESS there would be some reasonable plot reasons (for ex. given squadmate already has an established relationship with other character, but its very unlikely). Sadly, that wasn't the case, I know a number of gay dudes who would have jumped at the chance to romance Drack This is really a beautiful thread though I kind of wonder what will happen here if Vetra is a romance for maleRyder only as Garrus was for FemShepard. Hope it's not the case I wouldn't want the female Turianophiles here with a broken heart!  Actually, I belive this is the case  ManRyder on Vetra action only! It was pretty much love at first sight  I still think Cora's going to be straight, Peebee bisexual und Vetra lesbian. Don't get me wrong, but I can't imagine Vetra to be the kind of woman many straight guys are into (of course there are exceptions). But I think Bioware will go the safe route with straight guys. I wish this had been the case seeing as so many straight dudes were shitting on FRyder/Vetra It's just my experience that lesbians are more open about masculine/alternative looking females, whereas male gamers seem to prefer classic beauty. There were, for example, many heterosexual gamers who complained about Cassandra's appearance....that she was too masculine. Whereas lesbian gamers wanted her quite badly. But as I said, I think there are still some straight guys who are open about this, too. I just think that overall, lesbian gamers are "more" open about alternative beauty. I'm not talking about indivduals though. I dunno, I think those guys aren't AS common, it's just that they're the loudest and most irritating, and therefore easier to notice. Personally, for my first male character, I'll probably be more more interested in romancing one of the more conventional characters--Liam, Cora, Peebee--but if Vetra is available and I really grow to like her character? That could change pretty easily. Remember the guy who analysed Cassandra's skull and tried to use her skull shape as proof she was masculine, then there was the guy who hassled David Gaider about her being manly (think they might have been the same person) |

It's interesting how the romance scene is so similar to the Garrus one. They both try to do something nice, then have a sort of breakdown "amidst everything going so wrong, I wanted this one thing to go right", then proceed into adorable head bump(Garrus)/hug (Vetra). And I would have been satisfied if the scene ended there. Also, Vetra romance really feels lacking in content (comparing it to the one other romance I experienced, Suvi). Heck, the person telling me they really hated to see me dying was Peebee, not Vetra...though that is because of when romance lock-in happens, not the fault of romance itself. And did I brag about how I totally called Vetra's character before release? Because I totally called it ("mom" of the squad, pfffft. Gold hearted smuggler more like) Kimberly Brooks stated in an interview that she regretted not being able to 'romance Jennifer Hale' Did she?
