It's a big part as to why I really liked Bioware's RPGs, though, so I'd say it's pretty important. At least for quite a while, they were the only studio that was making decent romance subplots in these kinds of games. Nowadays, everyone's trying to hop on board. Even Bethesda is doing it (poorly).
Idk though, I haven't been as interested in them since Origins anyway.
