Prepare for a nuclear meltdown if she's revealed as non-romanceable. I can imagine the Mods being like this guy

Well...huh lol. I've always loved the look of Turians and loved Nyreen. Forgive me if I get this wrong, but Nyreen was from the Citadel DLC, right? I recall people saying it had the first female Turian, or something along those lines. I only ever saw screenshots, since I stopped playing ME3 about a month after launch. Nyreen was in the Omega DLC, she was voiced by Sumalee Montano (Arcee in Transformers Prime) The female turian in the Citadel DLC wasn't give a name as far as I'm aware

I talked to a lesbian in the YouTube comments section and she started yelling at me for saying: 'I hope Vetra isn't lesbian.' Mwahaha, we meet again. Funny how easy it is to characterize someone as the "mean lesbian" when you don't provide context, eh? (Pro-tip: don't tell gay women they should be happy with romancing men after repeatedly being told otherwise, and you won't keep pissing off gay women) Anyways, more importantly after being linked here, I hope Vetra is a lesbian really badly. For one, it'd be stupid imo to make every single female squadmate romanceable by men. Do they really think so little of the straight male playerbase that they can't handle not being able to romance a single female squadmate? That they can't handle a female squadmate being a lesbian? And, really, a female turian is the perfect way to do that. There's precedent (Nyreen), so fans can't argue it's "against lore" like I've seen redditors do with the concept of a lesbian asari, and making the turian the lesbian allows men to have their human waifu. We've never had a lesbian squadmate or really any explicitly gay squadmate, and I just really want one, alright? I want gay characters to be important and not relegated to minor NPCs with far less content. Works out for nearly everyone, right? Besides, I'm certain I wouldn't be seeing the same people going on about how "men deserve their own turian" if Vetra weren't a woman.

So far Bioware didn't say anything on way or another to imply she a romance for either or both Ryders. I do think that being straight is the least possible outcome out of the three, and I'll be personally fine if she's lesbian (if her romance arc is interesting I can still play Sara later on), but anything is possible at this point.
In terms of context though, 'not being lesbian' doesn't mean 'not being romanceable by women'; although I don't know what convo you guys had, so I don't know who's at fault.

If she turns out to be a lesbian it won't be the end of the world for me. Also I don't want a human waifu in a sci game with aliens lol.

Was waiting to see you again (sarcasm) I don't think we were having the same conversation. I didn't tell you to be happy with romancing men. At all. My English is not that great so I might've screwed up somewhere. But I never told you to be happy with romancing men. Now that I've said that. Let's get back to talking about Vetra.

That's a bit unfair, don't you think? He never said he believes he is owed that. And we all love Vetra, doesn't matter if you're a woman or a man. What matters is that we would all love to romance her and nobody (well, except for you ) is wishing she would be a romance for their gender only.

Gay women didn't get to romance the first female Quarian LI. I'm not saying I'll blow a gasket if she's bi and not lesbian, but why can't we have a lesbian squadmate for once? Putting under spoilers because it's too long lol No one is "owed" anything, no one said that. I really wanted a Quarian romance (regardless of the gender of said Quarian) as well, but I didn't get one, and now it looks like I won't be getting one in Andromeda either. Am I upset about that? Of course I am. Do I think I'm owed a Quarian romance? No, but maybe that's just me. I still wouldn't think that if we had a female Quarian squadmate on the team. Of course I would want her to be romanceable by Sara, but that wouldn't make me "owed" anything. The writers don't have an obligation to have a diverse cast of characters - they're not even obligated to have romance options in their games. This is their game. You can criticize them for not putting gay squadmates in their game, but that still doesn't mean you (or anyone else) are "owed" anything by the writers, because they never made promises about this stuff. Do they take credit for being a company with good LGBT representation? They do, but we've still never had a gay squadmate. That's important, imo, and should be criticized. But even that doesn't mean we're "owed" anything.
We can have a lesbian squadmate, and it would be great if we did because representation, and I feel you. But hoping Vetra is a lesbian and not bi just because you're salty about not having a gay squadmate on our team for whatever reason - isn't that kinda unfair? If Vetra was bi, that would work out for everyone. If she was a lesbian, male players would once again be left without a Turian romance. A lot of people love Turians, and just like how female players didn't get to romance the first (and so far only) Quarian LI, men didn't get to romance the first Turian LI and hoping that they also won't get to romance the first female Turian LI in this game, imo, is unfair. (Also I want to mention that I'm only replying to what you posted here, I don't know whatever argument you previously had on the topic. Btw sorry if I come off as being mean or rude, wasn't my intention at all.)
Also, of course you "wouldn't be seeing the same people going on about how "men deserve their own turian" if Vetra weren't a woman" because we're talking about straight men getting to romance a Turian like how straight women got to romance a Turian while they couldn't. If Vetra was a male Turian, you would be seeing other people going on about how "men deserve their own Turian," specifically gay men. So, what's your point?

Let us say it will be a huge disappointment but not enough to cancel my order of the game, enough maybe to never order again without seeing who the companions are.

My worry is that actually, that we will not get a gay/lesbian companion. And by this I really do not care who and why or even if I like that character. I dislike Sera but I clap to the havens when it was revealed she was a lesbian companion. Let us say it will be a huge disappointment but not enough to cancel my order of the game, enough maybe to never order again without seeing who the companions are. Wasn't a lesbian squadmate confirmed? Not so far.

Anyways, I want a gay squadmate and I don't think I'm being "unfair" by asking for one. My worry is that actually, that we will not get a gay/lesbian companion. I am too worried we won't get a gay squadmate of any sort. Even if Vetra isn't gay, I'm really hoping for some kind of gay squadmate. I would love it if Liam or Jaal or Drack were gay, since they seem like they'll get a lot of content. Honestly, this is gonna sound dumb but if there's little to no LGBT content at all in this game, then I'm probably not purchasing it. I want important LGBT characters besides Peebee, and wanting gay characters is one reason I got into Bioware games in the first place. If they stagnate or slide backwards in terms of LGBT rep, I'll be super disappointed.

I sincerely doubt there will be no gay romances, it is Bioware we are talking about. Edit: But if they decide they don't want to do it for any reason, say, they decide make most of them bi instead (even if they said they won't go that route) then so be it. It's their creation and as much as we make fun of it, romances are indeed not a major part of the game (despite companions being one of the main draws of Bioware games).

It's just up in the air right now whether we'll have any other LGBT squadmate this game besides Peebee.
