...although, now that I think about it, that scenario would still mean they're dead. 600 years and all. :S Yep, exactly why they would be sad about leaving them. I actually really like this. That is a pretty sad thing to think about: Seeing how the human Ark arrives later, Vetra was probably a teenager when she came to Andromeda. Perhaps in a rebellious phase she took her sister and ran, in the biggest example of 'running away from mom and dad' ever...and now, 600 years later, when her parents are long gone and she's never going to see them again, she realizes it was a mistake. ...damn. |

I don't think she was a teenager, she had a lot of mercenary experience in the milky way. But I could see maybe a rift forming with her not being a 'proper' Turian and running off as you said. |

Right. I'm still confused about the whole 'human ark was late' thing. I'm guessing despite that, Vetra was probably woken up from cryo sleep only a few years before the human ark finally showed up.

No worries, we aren't exactly when the first ships arrived in relation to the Hyperion and when Vetra was woken up. I think a few years sounds about right. |

Maybe I need to go back and watch the latest IGN video again, but -- spoilers from it -- Did they say the turian ark was lost? I think...yeah, "Looking for the turian ark", Kandros says.
Finding Vetra's sister/the turian ark = loyalty mission maybe? Not related to Vetra, other than that, but I'm kind of curious about these conflicting loyalties. MORE related to her...if it doesn't have to do with her sister, I wonder what her loyalty mission could BE. Could it be one of the conflicting ones? Also, dorky space raptors.  aw, hell. |

I was just thinking, what if after Shep beats the Reapers they could send a long distance drone or unmanned spaceship to Andromeda to update them on what happened. The drone with the info and outcome could arrive around the same time as everyone else and thus would impact these holoprograms we see that give info to anyone about a species history and culture.  This one to me almost feels like my headcannon and the holoprogram was updated when the drone was captured that told them the outcome of the Reaper war. The 2 holograms are Garrus and my Femshep. It tells the history of humans and turians. The first contact war and everything after. Garrus is heralded for saving millions of Turians lives with his preparations for the Reapers and telling his Dad. Shepard for being the avatar of humanity and uniting everyone to buy enough time to distract the Reapers for the Destroy ending. After that they permenantly retire and live there lives married together. A symbol that even with rocky beginnings n differences everyone can have a beautiful future together. |

I would guess probably relatively young given how protective she is of her. Maybe teens? Younger sister, protective, mercenary...is it just me, or do I smell dead parents somewhere? Well, dead bodies do tend to cause a stink, so...  I think the main question is why she became a mercenary. The reasonings that came to my mind usually end up requiring that Vetry and sis' parents either being dead, out of the picture, or just straight up bad. Why else would she go to mercenary work if she could have gotten into service like her parents and those before her? |

Well, this also begs the question why an ex merc should have been accepted in the AI at hall, considering we need the best and the brightest and we already have the Krogan as security personnel (more or less).
I mean, with such a “colorful” backstory as Vetra, she must be at least the best damn soldier the hierarchy has ever trained. But still this doesn’t explain why a merc should have been wanted on board, especially considering “proper” Turian protocol and decorum.
I think the Turians had droves of soldiers ready to sacrifice themselves for a chance to be admitted on the AI and bring more glory to the Empire in another galaxy: to see Vetra Nyx be accepted instead of them could have pissed someone off for good.
The only believable explanation I can find is that her sister is the best and brightest selected for the AI: a superb engineer or a peerless scientist called to serve on the Nexus.
Vetra tag along as a collateral and to stay with her sister, maybe for a chance to mend their past.
Pure speculation for now, but I would like something like this in game…
