This sounds like what we saw and heard in nme teaser (reaper nebula but it kinda looked like scourge too, and we hear a woman saying anomaly across space)
For example, there are aspects of the lore that actually lean towards the Citadel species allying with the Reapers in order to collectively tackle a dark energy anomaly, as opposed to the Reapers remaining as the Big Bad right up until credits roll.
- if he says there is lore to back up a dark energy anomaly that only the Reapers can save us from, it certainly exists.
Imagine if in some way the reapers come back, but not as the enemies but help us from this anomaly which might be the main evil and so deadly that could kill many people (we know there's the scourge).

too bad Chris Hepler wasn't quick / loud enough. Seems like he cared and knew from a story/lore perspective. Would have been a better ending IMO than the ones we were given. This seems so much more level headed insights and honest replies as to what we previously got from Bioware before.

I like the idea that the ending would be based more on a scientific explanation rather than just "space magic". The idea that Chris Hepler gave about targeting materials with a certain atomic number certainly has more base in reason that the Crucible's current function. The Mass Effect series always had strong roots in the science, thanks to all the codex entries. I think quite a few of the plot holes and logic jumps of the ending could have been addressed if we got a meeting during ME3 which actually broke down theories as to how the Crucible operated, rather than the simple "device" description we got. Looking forward to reading more articles about the trilogy and Legendary Edition!

A nice read. Funny thing: I was about to say that I'm currently not THAT interested in interviews and war stories of the writers/actors of the trilogy etc., instead more in hearing what the goal of the remaster team is and what they were able to change to improve mechanics, but the article is actually interesting, because it presents a new ending idea by one of ME3's writers.

Let me hear 'em and I'll try to answer them in a @whatsgood_Games video coming very soon   I should mention: I did *NOT* get to play the games. I just saw a long presentation about what they've been working on. This would be a tough set of games to show in a hands-on event but wouldn't stop me from trying if EA gave me the opportunity

They already had an ending, one I call Hackett's ending. After the coup, he tells Shepard the one's working on the crucible believe it has enough energy to destroy the reapers. That's your ending. Just after Shepard passes out on the Citadel, and the arms to the Citadel are fully opened, the crucible fires the red beam destroying the reapers.
