Sorry to burst what little semblance of a bubble you might of had but they wont be doing cross play with Xbox/PS. I know in the past Sony has touted it's 'policy' on crossplay over MS but that was only because the Japanese companys would go to Sony first, they'd ok it with PC (but not Xbox) and then when they'd go to MS they'd be all 'no, no crossplay with Sony'.

MS has come out publicly awhile ago where they've changed there policy, wanting to allow for cross play with anything that's willing. And Sony still is a big ass road block to that. There's a bunch of games right now just waiting on Sony to decide it's willing to play ball. Keep in mind, at least just for connecting they have to put stuff in to ensure all the platforms don't see each other. It's not the other way around.

Ultimately, we wont see cross play on this, which is a bummer. I'd like to see those walls get taken down as it where. But Sony is gonna have to play ball for once.

Co-op for specific maps and missions a la ME3, but with new features.

I love/hated that damned Mako so much... Those tense moments of pushing up a sheer cliff face, feeling yourself losing speed and traction, willing yourself to just keep going... You know it doesn't do shit, but you're just cranking down on the 'W' key (with way more force than your keyboard could handle) and then...you breathe wrong, or sneeze, or look at it funny and the front tips backwards suddenly and you sit there, slack-jawed as this huge stupid hunk of metal goes tumble-skidding a kilometer down into the basin you just spent 5 minutes crawling out of...

Yes and no. They had some Japanese MMO thing that you could play on PS and also on PC. Well it was on PC, and the company contacted Sony to see if they could crossplay with PS4 before they would be willing to put it on a console. Sony OK'ed it, because it's 'just to PC' and was able to mock MS for more publicity about how there 'for the gamers'. After which that MMO company asked MS if they could do crossplay but that was years ago before the policy change and it was a no-go. Now that there policy change has been around for half a year now, Sony hasn't followed suit so that game still wont end up on Xbox lol.

Anyway besides that, you might be thinking of PS3/4 and PS Vita. Where a lot of games can either be played on both (as separate apps) and when you buy one digitally you get both versions. Or being able to stream the PS4 to the Vita for remote play. Either way it's with in Sonys own network, not outside of it.
