My guess is that is a Fiend that is used by the Kett as a war animal, like how some Batarians and Krogan use Varren. As such, they graft the bone armor on them. |

They could have sedated it, grafted the armor on, and then released it on their enemies. The Salarians had a similar plan in mind for the Varren they had in captivity on Sur'Kesh. |

I'm still waiting to see how exactly the whole situation gets handled in-game. I'm not going to assume the sky is falling because something is presented in a way that I don't like, but at the same time it doesn't really make a lot of sense for a character-driven RPG to lock your player character into one background. I agree. I think there are a lot of assumptions being made. This caveat should basically be attached to almost any post made on the BSN  |
