Okay, now I'm confused. They could really be a little bit less cryptic. Heart=emotional, no matter if flirting or angry or what? I hope it will be clear whether I start a romance or a fight. It means, as far as I am reading it, the 'heart' options come from the heart and are thus more emotionally based...whatever that emotion is. And they will have an entirely different set of dialog options available when you want to flirt with someone. Exactly what I was trying to say! I really hope this is what they meant!

I think it means instead of being diplomatic, sarcastic or a jerk, you can reply with your heart to situations and of coursed romances are included. Hope this means that we'll be more sympathetic and compassionate rather than complaining/getting over emotional. I admit that it would be nice to get some clarification.

I always found that to be the one option missing that would help form stronger friendships and bonds that does not have to automatically be romantic.

Valy @valyrious Will there be a Mass Effect Andromeda demo, like there was one for ME2 and ME3? And if so, is there a planned date for it? Fernando Melo DiscoBabaloono plans for demo. i guess closest would be something like EA/Origin access though, which has some SP & MP.

Heart option= I am so sorry about your loss, he was a good friend of mine too, and I feel his loss greatly. Flirt option = I am sorry for your loss...we'll bang, ok?

It is just that I don't necessarily connect emotional with friendly/compassionate. Perhaps the heart icon is just meant to indicates the "nice" response. Flynn's answer is still less than helpful in that regard.

We know that the 4 conversation options are (instead of the 2 from past games). It didn't even occur to me that 'heart' could of been confused with flirting but then the flirting icon in DA has been a heart so guess that makes sense. Though it being Professional/Casual and Head/Heart, I just assumed it wouldn't be a pink, frilly bubble love heart like in dragon age, and there would be another one specifically for flirting/romance crap.
Really kinda makes me wonder what the flirt, and or romance icon are this time around. I mean, still might be a 'heart', just more of a bubble valentine heart vs a more ehh, heart-heart, like human heart.

Flynn's answer is still less than helpful in that regard. We know that their dialog options are head/heart/ professional/ casual. So the difference between a head and a heart option is one based in logic or anaylizing a situation where the heart is something more emotional. Whatever the emotion is. I think the emotion will be clearer based on the dialog prompt. IE a heart option saying: "Please help me." Will sound pleading whereas one that is more angier might be in the wheel "I will destroy you!"

Jen G @caravaggio4lyfein me:a, "heart" convo option is separate from the "flirt" option right? Ian S. Frazier @tibermoonCorrect BioFan @biofanofficialI can be flirty without commitment? *evil grin* My time has come. Jen G @caravaggio4lyfeMight be more that "heart" is a "compassionate" tone, not a flirty or romance tone Aaryn Flynn aarynflynn The heart is part of many emotions... I think what he means is that whatever you tell your lover, or wannabe lover, is what they need to hear. Of course, in a loving way, if your lover, but maybe in a flirtacious way if it's your wannabe lover.

Jen G @caravaggio4lyfe TY for answering. So in some situations we'll have 5 options or is it more like the flirt replaces 1? Ian S. Frazier @tibermoonIt's possible to have Flirt + Investigates or Flirt + various Tone options, yup.

Sounds like flirt-mode will affect these 4, as it seems to be not a fifth option on its own. Just don't ask me what professional flirting might be, just the "flirt + investigate" option I hope .

Ray' Yelani. @way_Too_Jocular So, I made a twitter account just to ask this. If I have a black Sara, and a white Scott, would Papa Ryder be mixed? Kinda' odd.. Ian S. Frazier @tibermoonNo. We base the appearance of Alec on whichever twin you choose to play. You can make your sibling look however you want. Ray' Yelani. @way_Too_Jocular Could I play it off to say Scott is totally adopted, and have him a different ethnicity and race from the rest of the family? Ian S. Frazier @tibermoonI suppose you could, yes.

Jen G @caravaggio4lyfein me:a, "heart" convo option is separate from the "flirt" option right? Ian S. Frazier @tibermoonCorrect So, the heart icon in MEA will kinda be like the tear/cry icon in DAI? No, BioWare is going for a ehh. Well, the best way I can think of it is kinda like the DnD alignment system, minus the whole mixing things. That is they kinda overlap but they don't? For instance heart, and casual are more... less measured. Your more open, heart will most likely be used often for aggressive or angry. But could also be used for more passionate. But then you have Professional (opposite to casual) and Head (opposite to heart) which are the more calm analytical (or well, head is I guess?). Anyway the 'cry/tear' from DAI wasn't so much 'heart' as it was crying... literally. It was you being sad and emotional at some event. Heart could be used for sad, but it could also be used for aggression, anger, overjoyed. I'm assuming the little text quip along with the context of wtf is going on is that makes the difference and we're picking more from what side we're reacting from. Which is extremely similar to how Paragon and Renegade worked. It's just split up a bit more. In a lot of ways I kinda view Professional/Head as a more complex variant on Paragon, and Casual/Heart more complex renegade. Though renegade often was used as 'im a big asshole' when you where talking with your crew, doubt 'casual' will be 'im a giant asshole'. Heart might be in a few situations, but then so could Head or Professional this time around as sometimes you need to be casual to the crew instead of Professional where as in ME1-3, Paragon would of been used. So ehh, yeah. Rambling aside it's not the cry/tear im a whiny baby from DAI, and more nuanced. Also, more complex and less defined then ME1-3 from what I can tell? or maybe im just talking outa my ass I dunno.

You just confused the heck outta me. Hahah, yeah I'm not the best at explaining things. To be less babbly about it think of it as an evolution of Mass Effect (shocking, I know) and not Dragon Age Inquisition. Mass Effect gave you 'Shepard' and you where either being professional and persuady with Paragon, or not-that and often assholery as a Renegade (often just more fun too). Right? They where always present. Dragon Age 2 was like 'hey that's a good idea' and went with 3 personalities. The mostly emotionally detached nice guy, the sarcastic loveable asshole, and the just 'im an asshole' variant with 2 emotional icons per personality. Personally, I liked ME and DA2 system of defined direction on the radial (also, Sarcastic Hawke, best Hawke). Dragon Age Inquisition however said screw that noise and went with like 30 icons (ok it was more like 12) and only used them half the time. When it used them it was all over the place, and you never knew what would be 'allowed' or whatever and... well DAI was kinda a mess with that. Anyway, MEA is more like ME except instead of always having 2 options, you always have 4 options. Well, almost always. theres those times when it's a yes/no or whatever when the 4 way makes less sense. ...was that less babbly? I know I said I was going to be less babbly but I usually fail at that... edit: Erm, another point - DAI icons where absurdly specific and always meant that exact thing. Sad, Confused, Surprised, Mad... very specific. ME1-3 and MEA are less specific and more general. But they give you an idea/direction and are always in the same spot and always represented.... yeah.
