I've never understood why they won't let us tweak the defaults, it's obviously not for tech reasons but a design decision...
I don't know much about modding, except that I've heard frostbite is difficult to mod, so I'm not sure if we can look to the modding community for help with this like with previous games.
Could someone ask a dev why they do this? I mean is there a specific reason?

I've never understood why they won't let us tweak the defaults, it's obviously not for tech reasons but a design decision... Is it? I thought to have heard differently. Male Sheppard was a custom head while all the others were made with their generic face creator. Sure, something like colors of the eyes or skin should have been easy to change but i don't know about how easy it would have been to do that for all the other stuff with their implementation they had at the time.

Not being able to customize the default faces is old news, one of the devs mentioned it on twitter. I've seen so many people asking about it that I assumed it was news.

I inconsistently peek in and out of this thread, so I'm a bit out of the loop. But, has anyone asked about the varying aim sensitivity options? I find it very satisfying, and rewarding to consistently land shots while playing on a high sensitivity. You can adjust your aim sensitivity settings, according to Ian.

Being unable to tweak BrewisRyder and RossiRyder is disappointing (may as well start calling them that, at this point), but I'm not surprised.
I suspect this involves some approach to protecting the marketable faces of the game, those of their living models, or both. Whomever they scanned for the "other" faces, you can rest assured they're less well known and marketable than Brewis and Rossi. In terms of MEA, they were born to be edited. They're editing-red shirts.

Will we at least have the chance to use the hair-skin textures of the deafult faces? That what I actually would like to know, since usually BioWare leave the only decent looking hairstyle only for the deafult face, as if they wish to punish those who want their own character...

It's kinda amazing how much misunderstanding there is of how the default faces tend to work in BioWare games.
Faces like Maleshep and the Ryders are unique models that can't be edited because they have their own geometry - they're created from the ground up like a main NPC, such as The Illusive Man. They're simply incompatible with the character creator, because they were created with tools we as players don't have access to. This is old news dating back to the ME1 days - it's purely a technical issue.
But not being a face scan doesn't mean the face is just a CC job - ME3 Femshep and both Hawkes also have custom geometry because they were hand designed to be the game's poster faces, despite not being specifically scanned from or based on any one person. They even had custom hairstyles that weren't from the character creator.
Dragon Age Inquisition's defaults were all created purely with the character creator, hence being able to edit them.
My assumption with Andromeda's other presets from what they said is that they will be editable, but were simply based on real people for reference, no different to trying to create a celebrity or yourself in the CC - having every single one being scanned or at least painstakingly created with their own geometry seems like an unneccesary waste of resources, and would mean they're all uneditable.

Surely? Almost certainly. Despite our companions having hand created faces in Dragon Age Inquisition, you can get incredibly close to them in the CC given how detailed it is. If MEA's is as good or even better, I'd give it a day before we see some 99% accurate default Ryder recreations.

But I don'T like this light blue/grey eyes from Scrott. That is so lame. No Expression. More blue or violet would be more untypical for characters then this meaningless light blue. Shepard had it already. Same here. We had Shep who had dark hair and blue eyes. I was hoping to change Scott back to brown.

Well, I had honestly forgotten about that with Shepard because I was primarily thinking of DA2 when I wrote that. Mods later made it possible to customize even default Hawke so I didn't think it was a tech issue. Also, I could be wrong but I thought all of the presets were scans this time... so shouldn't it be equally difficult to customize those if it is a tech issue this time around? EDIT: I just read Sofajockey's idea of how the facesharing feature might help the situation. That might actually be a good solution for those that want to customize the default Ryders.

My real complaint with MEA's eyes is that they have that monochrome iris, artificial, dead-eye VG look. DAI allowed us to make incredibly lifelike eyes. This was a huge step forward, in my opinion. I'm surprised to see MEA's protagonists with old-school VG dead-eyes. Weird decision, BioWare.
