Would prefer a MET sidequel (or multi/alternate universe or time travel) as the next NEW game in the series, mainly because it would also allow for all the lore/universe/world/character building to continue, have appearances by fan favourite characters if desired, even if it would be a smaller scale (c-sec officer going after gangs, smuggler/cargo ship just doing their thing, getting involved in something for the right/wrong reasons).

Wouldn't mind a MEA2 either however, as long we get a time jump, new protagonist and much more aliens/hubs and more focus on stories, rather than open world.

As much as I'd love a MET remake (unified powers & weapons, inventory, game play, character creation, graphics & sounds across all games with all DLCs included and possibly some lore corrections) it's not what is rumoured to be coming.

Hope the MET remaster has not only graphics/sound upgrades and small bug fixes, but they bake the DLCs into the main story progression, but allow for players to use an extended Genesis to jump into 2 or 3 if they like.

As for the we don't need a MET remaster, if it's just a slight upgrade-folks:

for point 1, I put this in a different thread and yes would totally love this game, "Hell give me a story of a private investigator on omega, he drives a fast red ship, has a mustache and two war buddy friends, he lives rent free in a estate that he provides security for but is constantly hassled by a short older major domo with a accent. "  A trivia aside John Hillerman(Higgins in magnum pi, was a texan not English, it was said he used the accent so much in the show and other TV appearances to keep up the higgins act that it took him a couple years to drop the accent after the show ended)

Point 2 on the modding for PCs.  I'm not a modder, but I would think if your base is improved it may be even easier to mod it to keep up with current, so better mods may come from it. Also for me on PC, well I just don't run any mods it seems like a pain in the ass to figure out. So I wouldn't mind a better looking ME1. I'm not that focused on graphics though so its not a big deal to me. The core art direction of ME1 was great imo even if it is not 4k bells and whistles stuff.
