I don't see why now. It's not a huge convention like E3 or even PAX, and it isn't a day attributed to Bioware or Mass Effect like N7 Day. And if they are so afraid of stepping on the toes of titles like Battlefield 1 or Titanfall 2 a couple months ago, why release stuff now when those two games are even closer? And why talk about other projects when MEA is coming out soon. This just doesn't make any sense.

<<<<<<<<<<(0)>>>>>>>>> Does this imply it's console only or an exclusive? No, I wouldn't read much into that. They've shown off their games at X-Box events before and their games have never been exclusive. At worst, all I could see it being is a timed exclusive (or an early preview on PS, like they did with X-Box). Plus if they were going console exclusive, it would almost certainly be Xbox since Microsoft gets along with EA better than Sony does, like Microsoft supporting EA Play on Xbox while Sony refused to let it on Playstation.

Traditionally, they have been on very good terms with Microsoft, but I can't imagine them going exclusive with anyone. It just doesn't make sense for them. Though back to Sony, they seem to be warming up a little to them lately. eg. EA/Dice is creating a PS VR specific version of SW Battlefront. And I agree that the timing to show off anything from BioWare is strange - especially if it's for the New IP. It seems too soon with everything else going on. Which is why I think Sony threw a pile of money at EA/BioWare to help make a big splash for their new console reveal. Maybe they'll get also get VR-specific version for the Neo, or some exclusive in-game gear, etc..

Although that might make me get PSVR/Neo if there is some kind of VR compatible with Andromeda.

Maybe they'll get also get VR-specific version for the Neo, or some exclusive in-game gear, etc.. Yeah might be VR Related. Keep in mind them doing something for PS VR is because that is it's own platform. Yeah it requires a PS4 or Neo (or whatever comes out later on) but the only way to play anything with it is via the VR shit. So it's not 'really' the same as there isnt much else they could release it on outside of PC. That is, they're not ignoring Xbox by doing it since Xbox has no VR directly. Though when Scorpio comes out next year it'll inevitably support PC-based VR options. So we'll probably start seeing more cross VR stuff at that point. My guess is it's the new IP, or some old IP for VR. And If it's not VR and the new IP, they probably have like you said some PS exclusive items or something. Which brings me to - fuck how Sony handles exclusive DLC. I'd rather they do the month thing but they try to go full exclusive or in Destiny case 1-2 year long exclusives. I know people bitched at MS about it last generation but Sony was doing it too and everytime they did it was 100% exclusive never making it's way. So fuck that, and fuck them for keeping that up. Glad MS dropped the practice entirely.

Well, Sony wants to top Microsoft's Scorpio reveal, so I wouldn't be surprised if they did make it rain on EA. I'm not complaining, since I'm a PS4 player. I just hope they deliver, and all this hype isn't just senseless teasing, or some underwhelming 2 minute slot for yet another VR project.

Just my thoughts. <<<<<<<<<<(0)>>>>>>>>>> No. Andromeda is too soon for VR . Besides, VR gear is bloody expensive, today. If anything, I say Dragon Age 4 is more of a candidate. One wrinkle, why would Michael Gamble and Mac Walters be tweeting about it? Especially if it was Dragon Age 4 related. It would just be weird for them to be excited about something there never involved in. Plus, to my knowledge they would only tweet about Mass Effect things. I don't think they've really talk about Dragon Age, at least in terms of development of the game(s). They say we should expect something. What is that... I don't think any of us (at least not BioWare-related) knows. At this point it might be also nothing *tries to maintain her expectations low* <<<<<<<<<<(0)>>>>>>>>>> Certainly no info about Mass Effect Andromeda. Maybe the new IP. Now this seems more likely new IP info. However, would EA/BioWare want to take away any marketing potential from Andromeda to announce a new IP when Andromeda is so "close" to release? I suppose it could be both. There is a danger with announcing a game to soon to build up the hype up and then wait for so long for the game to come out... it could have a No Man's Sky effect.

Glad MS dropped the practice entirely. <<<<<<<<<<(0)>>>>>>>>>> I'm sure every game studio and publisher is investigating VR. I'm also sure that the current VR tech is limited and better suited for some games and not others. Hardware wise, VR tech is very demanding and very expensive. Early adopters of the tech are few in numbers. Add that up, and what I get is no EA VR game this year or next. There won't be any until the price point for VR gear comes down and the hardware devs overcome the headaches when watching a VR game a longer than 10 min. or so. An official announcement about the new secret IP is more likely. I hope its punk in style. That wall image (from the MTL studio?) alludes to it.
