Patrick Weekes @patrickweekes Reminder: I am happy to (sometimes refuse to) answer questions about elves and Qunari, but am not on MEA team. REALLY can't answer for them.
Mark Darrah @biomarkdarrah Oh I may answer. I'll make something up, but I'll try to give an answer I will also try to make it hilariously wrong
Chris Gardiner @chgardiner Mark, how big are the spacey-ships?
Mark Darrah @biomarkdarrah Spacey-ships are, as we all know, made of vacuum (the absence of substance) as a result, they don't have a size.
David Gaider @davidgaider But they have mass! Surely that has some effect?

Yeah, my PC is actually pretty old and needs replacing, but my excess cash isn't that great and I don't want to make a big purchase while still working out the budget of my new situation. I'm probably going to look at my bank balance in a few months and make a decision then.

I build my own. I can the replace certain components, without replacing the whole PC.
For example: I can replace my discreet graphics card for a better one. So far, they last two generations of new GPUs and I buy on the 3rd. Also found that a mainstream card is sufficient for 4-5 years.... as long as you're OK with only HIGH graphic settings., which is good enough to eliminate the barbie style hair in DA:I
For example: I can change my CPU and replace it with a more powerful one.
For example: I can add SSDs or new hard drives...
It's much cheaper that way. Buying a PC from DELL may be cheap but it's designed to be. Same from HP.
I'll need to consult some more techy friends about that. Though I think my old PC being a laptop limits my options.

Mr Vader75 @v4d3r1991 please tell me that we can explore this location more than what we've seen on this gameplay! It's AMAZING!!
Mac Walters @macwalterslives What you saw was just a small glimpse of that level... Which is just one of many areas in the game.

I noticed there are two different cut scenes. The first one shows off the PS4 Pro, with its 4k resolution and HDR graphics. The second one shows the characters up close. However, the latter is at a much lower graphic setting. I suspect this is the actual graphics regular PS4 users will see, capped at 30fps to boot.
I originally thought the characters shown was recorded from actual game play but that is not the case. Real game play footage would show two squad mates per mission not four. In essence, then, the video is just a showcase (as Shinobi mentioned) for the Sony PS4 Pro. Bio also threw a bone to their fans with the second cut scene, confirming the Asari and the male sibling.
Now I wonder if all the Remnant Vaults will be as massive as Walters implies.

Deep customisation, hmm, I think I'll need to start planning my character in advance, to try to avoid 3 hours in cc again like I did in DA:I
It ain't the true RPG experience without 3 hours of customization and 45 minutes of crying while trying to name your character.
I thought I was the only one that did that! Although I have to say that some of the crying was also due to the game crashing before I could make a save, after those 3 hours ...
Inquisitor: Is that innuendo? Sera: No, it's at the front!
Heh, I plan the name and appearance in advance because otherwise I'd be stuck at the cc for looong time. I even did a loose sketch of my first character to get the details down such as facial details like freckles. I also have the color of her hair and skin down.
Oh and keep in mind, we may also have to decide what our character's father looks like, maybe even the sibling too. This is wonderful and terrifying all at once. I hope this is a thing and I fear the result if this is a thing. I want to make the father dignified and I want to the game cry at the sight of him. I'm waging a great battle within myself.
... I'm going to need to have two or three pillows at hand too.
I had kinda guessed there would be siblings and the other sibling would exist in the world, I kinda guessed it would be like the spouse in fallout 4. I didn't guess the N7 guy would be the father. That's an interesting twist. It'll be interesting to see how they both factor into the plot.
About this 4K business... I'm undecided. I have some money in the bank. A few months into my new job, I might through down the money for a gaming PC and monitor that can handle 4K, but I'm very hesitant about the expense.

Higher resolutions demand powerful CPUs and GPUs = very expensive.
Agreed. This can't be overstated.
Regarding all the concern about 30 fps cutscenes ... you really don't want to pay for rendering 60 fps 4K cutscenes, let alone 120 fps for 120Hz monitors. I'm perfectly happy with 30 fps cutscenes in plain old HD. After all, you pay $16 to see a movie at the cinema and that's only 24 fps.
There is also a hidden cost to 4K tvs and monitors. Most content has to be upscaled. Since buying my 4k UHD TV, maybe 1% of the content I've watched on it is native 4k, the rest has been upscaled. My UHD happens to have really good upscaling, so the result is okay. It doesn't look as good as a 1-to-1 monitor, but acceptable. Not all upscalers are that good, though, so definitely do some test content and try upscaling before buying.

You know this is a BioWare game, right? Their only regret will be that they can't do both. (Hmm, unless... )
True that. And don't forget that we have Bethany/Carver as a precedent. Honestly, if someone in the family doesn't die by the end of the first act, I'll be shocked. No bet, Hungr, no bet.
Now what I would put money on is whether there is a major story choice where you have to decide whether sibling or father dies. Shades of Hawke/Warden! Again, I'll be shocked if they don't do this.
