You never know, it could be a jump ahead a century or two into Andromeda's future when the colonization effort is much better established. Either way, I doubt we'll see a direct continuation of Ryder's story.
So running away instead of trying to fix the problem?
I think they will continue Ryder's story because we have to much holes in the story secondary we can't just back to MW after ending of ME3 and they can't do story before Shepard because the decision already taken what happened before. Maybe other galaxy ?

Yeah moving to yet another galaxy would be ludicrous as well as returning back to the MW because this will mean leaving Andromeda incomplete which is a pity. My ideal solution would be a direct sequel for Ryder's story but leave a in-game decade or so to pass where the colonization starts to develop properly and we have a much more experienced and professional Ryder who control a more trained crew. We can then revisit some old locations and see how they developed considering our actions in the previous game. We see how some of our original team have moved on changed, matured and they could throw a couple of more guys/gals to keep the experience fresh.
The setting for ME:A reverted to bland SF tropes (desert world, jungle world, desert world, snow world, space pirate port, hidden Eden, etc) after an imaginative and interesting opening planet. So anything in future which is made would obviously do well to make it fresh and exciting, whether it's in the Andromeda galaxy or not. I'm thoroughly ambivalent as to whether they torch Andromeda and restart or look to find a way to build on Andromeda. There's no character I'd particularly like to see again, nor would I complain if ones were brought back providing that next time they gave me some sense of investment into them.
Was good to read the EA exec being aware that clear direction would be needed to move ME forward in the future. Here's to them doing it sooner rather than later and getting the right team together to do that in a way which makes as many as possible happy. It's going to be a long wait for the next one sadly.

I agree it will be a while however the one thing we can hold our hats on is Casey Hudson being the new man in charge. I have a feeling sooner or later (probably later) he will want ME to not end on the note is seems to have ended on.
Really hoping by "in a fresh, exciting place" they are still meaning in Andromeda, because I really don't think starting anew yet again is the answer. I hope they realise that there is worth in the stories that were told in Andromeda, and that there just needs some fine tuning going forward, not scrapping it all together and pretending it never happened.
Patrick Söderlund (EA's Executive Vice President) interview with GameReactor
At the very least, we know there is still a Mass Effect team. Overall, that's a positive statement and pretty much confirms the franchise isn't stone cold dead. Although I worry that EA's definition of "relevant" may mean multiplayer. And I doubt that the "fresh, exciting place" is going to be Andromeda.
Still, I'm willing to wait for a while if it means they work out how to do it properly.
Yeah :/... I really hope though that they will consider it to continue it in a sequel.

Patrick Söderlund (EA's Executive Vice President) interview with GameReactor
“Well I think, my personal opinion is, I think that the game… I usually don’t do this, but this is one of those places where I feel like the game got criticised a little bit more than it deserved,” Söderlund said. “I think the game is actually a great game. Yes, we have to acknowledge the fact that there were some things that maybe we could have done better, absolutely, but as a whole, if you go in and you buy the game today with everything that’s in it today, I believe that that’s a game worth buying, personally.”
“So that’s the first thing I’ll say. The [second] thing I’ll say is, for Mass Effect as a franchise, that has such a big fanbase, and you know I’ve seen people saying ‘Oh, EA’s not making another Mass Effect’. I see no reason why we shouldn’t come back to Mass Effect. Why not? It’s a spectacular universe, it’s a loved [series], it has a big fanbase, and it’s a game that has done a lot for EA and for BioWare.
“What we need to be careful though of is, whenever we bring Mass Effect back again, we have to make sure that we bring it back in a really [relevant] way, and in a fresh, exciting place. That’ my job, and that’s Casey’s [Hudson] job, and BioWare and the Mass Effect team’s job, to figure out what that looks like, and that we don’t know yet, but we will.”
I really do not like this line. Most EA games are multiplayer focus, that kind of point the relevance they seek.
And it's possible Casey wants a reboot, mostly because he was not a major player at birth of Andromeda.

I'm actually still in favor of a smaller scale story (Maybe an espionage thriller of some kind?) set in the two year gap after the intro of ME2.
Still, there are threads in Andromeda that I'd like to follow up on.

Hmm... I don't know, but let me play the devil's advocate here...
They noticed people got upset about the decapitation of ME:A (chopping off the story lines and put them in comics and MP while they should have been in a DLC). Now how do you get a crying child silent? Yep - you promise a nice piece of candy "when we are home" if you just keep quiet for now.
So people - Be quiet, and maybe if we get "home" within a year or 5 to 10, you get a nice candy-game. Does that sound nice? Just keep quiet until the "big ones" are finished with Anthem and so on. Then maybe, maybe...
Sorry if I sound overly cynical, but I just lost somewhat confidence in that nice kind of pep-talk. I really hope DA4 will not turn out to be an MMO, but in my eyes the signs are not that positive. Yeah - I should shut up now (maybe I get a candy).

Not being "quiet" is how Mirror's Edge 2 happened and countless other ip's to get their respective sequels that have the same "cult" following.

Sadly.
I don't know what kind of logic.
Give this huge task to make Andromeda to inexperienced team -----> they make subpar game but with a lot of uncovered potential -----> close the studio, don't give them a chance to improve (!?) ------> Shut down Andromeda before it got the chance to fully improve.
Like hello, hi EA - don't you see that stopping Andromeda now will only hurt you in a long run if you decide to make another ME game in the future?
But like whatever right, all of my favorite 2016/17 sequels got put on ice after release so yea (Deus Ex, Mirros Edge and now ME).

Look at it this way: its cheaper then buying $15 for each dlc release... :amirite:
BioWare @bioware Join us tomorrow at 10am PT as we take on the kett: TWITCH
I have every expectation that 'bigger decisions' were made well above Fernando and the multiplayer team's pay grade. If I'm available I'll log in to share a little support with them...
But yes, it could be a little awkward.
