Wow, people are treating a hit-piece from Kotaku seriously? Interesting... People are reassigned after a game launches...DA:I peeps were reassigned to work on ME:A and TOR after DA:I released. But Kotaku thanks you for your clicks Kotaku has pretty good sources in general. Also, it only confirms a gut feeling I already had. Since the new IP sounds like a lot of microtransactions and kids screaming things about my mom, I'm hoping Cyberpunk will be done before my PC is outdated. Until then, I'm already enjoying the idea of being part of a small community still following the Mass Effect cult for years to come, flaming each other in lore discussions. It's not about Kotaku's sources (this twitter threads have comment about MEA devs moving to Dylan one week before MEA released, I'm not sure why people are surprised). It's about how they are painting it. DAI team was also gutted to work on other projects after it released, as samhain444 pointed out. There is nothing special about it, BioWare is now using Ubisoft "every studio on every game" development approach. And going by the DA twitter thread "production" started after MEA released, so don't expect DA4 until 2020 too. I find it way more worrisome that Motive needs help to finish something that needs to release next November personally (they are making SW Battlefront II campaign). |

The answer, according to people familiar with the studio, is nowhere—at least for the time being. BioWare has put Mass Effect on hiatus and turned Andromeda’s developer, BioWare Montreal, into a support studio, according to four sources close to the company.
That doesn’t mean there will never be another Mass Effect game, of course. It’s unlikely that BioWare will kill the popular sci-fi franchise. But BioWare is letting Mass Effect sit for a while rather than putting staff on Andromeda’s follow-up right away, those sources said.
Last month, a number of BioWare Montreal employees were transferred to the studio EA Motive, also based in Montreal, to work on Star Wars Battlefront II. Those remaining at BioWare Montreal will help support BioWare’s other games including the new intellectual property, code-named Dylan, which we expect the company to announce at E3. BioWare Montreal will also continue to patch and support Andromeda’s multiplayer. Pfffft. "Polarizing?" Where was this guy five years ago? Given the language of these articles I'd almost be tempted to say we'll get maybe one DLC? Whatever's in the works already and then that'll be it.
God this game deserves better than this. I know it wasn't exactly getting 10's accross the board but this honestly feels more like it's down to the backlash from the gaming community rather than any actual solid scores or sales.

Is it too late for them to remove those cheesy headphones on the new casual outfit? I don't mind the outfit itself, its the weird corny headphones that make absolutely no sense. To be fair Bioware never had much clothing sense, even in previous games. Never forget the Inquisitor's pajamas.  Femshep's garbage bag dress from ME3. Nuff fucking said.  |

Oh, let's face it - even if they have plans and things are inching forward they won't breathe a thing. It's almost 3 years after DA was released, and we know that next title is in the works, but the devs officially act as if the project "may or may not happen". DA4. That's what they said about it after DAI ended. ,.-~*´¨¯¨`*·~-.¸-(_MEA_)-,.-~*´¨¯¨`*·~-.¸
Not surprised that Wilson would keep a "stiff upper lip" to fend off investors. Also, I'm hardly surprised at the "put ME on ice" for now, comments.

As far as the big games go, Bethesda has 2 "Skyrim-sized" games coming out before the next ES, and I suspect we'll hear about the first at E3. RDR2 is coming out, God of War, ME: Shadow of War, Last of Us 2, SW BF2... Plus, there's still the possibility of a DA spin-off game before DA4. |

Dragon Age might be 2019, possibly pushed to 2020 now. What am i going to play the next 2 years? AGH! Elex?  Seriously, anyone remember Gothic? Is it (and its sequel) featured in any of the recent top 100 RPGs lists? If not, shame on them. Piranha Bytes' recent games haven't been exactly hot stuff but their open world design is something i've always preferred to the Elder Scrolls of this world... |

This "live" new IP sounds online+MP = not interested. As you say Cyberpunk is around the corner.
The new IP does sound like it's catering to the Destiny crowd, which doesn't really interest me either outside of just being curious what they're going to do with it. Though I wouldn't hold my breath for CP2077 as (at least for now) it's scheduled for June 2019. yeah if it is MP only I'll likely leave it alone too.I'm only really interested in Bioware's SP games |
