Seriously though, they fixed the never-ending reave loop in the MP. It wasn't that bad at all. I liked it actually.
I hope they keep the sound effects exactly as they were. It would be super immersion-breaking for me to have weapon/power sounds changed. It's like giving a character a different voice actor. No-go for me.

Hehe, it's not actually bad now, but in the early days it wouldn't stop looping. Got a touch infuriating after a while.

Lash is all I wish for. Nothing more satisfying than watching an enemy ragdoll into oblivion.

Human Vanguard is almost invincble spamming Nova, yes. Even without the cheater trick (that I don't use). At least on Silver and SP Hardcore. I frequently played the novaguard on Gold matches and could still tank well and mostly died when the chain was broken because Charge wouldn't trigger. But you are fairly squishy there. Need to play more careful. I used Shockwave on Gold a lot. Let others prime and then detonated everything. Too bad few people want to join the novaguard on Gold because of bias. *sigh*

Yeah vanguards are still overrated. I kind of get why people like them, feeling unstoppable with superpowers, but as far as I'm concerned, meh, in both perception and reality.

It's one of those cases where everyone around me wouldn't shut up about it which made me not want to play it at all (and besides, infiltrator master race). When I got into MP I specifically avoided the human classes- my first Vanguard was the asari. Charge was useful as a transport and shield recharge but I didn't jizz all over myself when I used it. When I finally did try a human, it was for some weekly achievement thing back when they were still running, and though I understood the mechanics of chainspamming charge>nova endlessly it still felt kinda boring. The constant screaming the class made didn't help either.

I'm not against the class as a whole though. I can find something to like about the (nonhuman) MP vanguards I've played:

Asari- stasis sniping. Also has nades for bosses. Plus the slide dodge ruled until the teledodge came on the scene.
Krogan- the beefiest melee, until the krolord showed him up. Probably my most used vanguard back in the day.
Phoenix- Smash, lash and charge. Probably used him the closest to a novaguard, the difference being it felt like you had to be more precise/strategic about it.
Slayer- Even more so than above. Plus sword and teleporting, come on!
Volus- lol two shield recharge powers. Plus it's a volus charging
Cabal- I like the poison motif and the notCharge is an interesting change of pace. I'm a bit biased against her though because she has a longer ranger to her teledodge than the Fury. Fury4lyfe!

What powers to we NOT want to see?

I really hated Electric slash I think it was called from the Shadow. Love her sword attack but hated the serial slashers.

That's true. In Me2 if you did it wrong the vanguard charge could be a death sentence

I guess that makes sense.  Though I can see most people then not using grenades or...like me...only using them in limited situations.
