Oh yeah, new Metallica song is pretty rad. Better than their first single I think. This gives me more hope that the new album might be good. That's the first time I liked the whole band in awhile. I always liked James Hetfield. Just something about the last period that never grabbed me.

Not a whole lot of post-metal stuff in here so I'm going to share some Russian Circles. This is off their Memorial album which is stellar. If you dig instrumental stuff with atmosphere and raw production, give it a twirl. bruhhhhh speaking of instrumental post-metal did you ever check out that We Lost The Sea album that I was pimping over on the VSN metal thread a while back? it's legit fucking amazing. Haven't had the chance to listen to the whole thing. Still been meaning to cuz it sounds goooooooooooooood.

^^ That sounds pretty dope. Cause of Death is probably my favorite Obituary album. Their stuff in recent years doesn't even compare to the stuff they made over 20 years ago. This album had awesome artwork too made by the same guy who did a lot of Sepultura's older album covers named Michael Whelan. The cover is pretty eye catching, pun intended

Just enough black metal to be considered metal. Awesome crust/d-beat/black metal and they need to do another album.

I always liked James Hetfield. Just something about the last period that never grabbed me. The cover-art is a mixture of the artist's blood and semen ... and the album is called Load. ... I suspect even Metallica knew that album was a Load of Bloody Wank!

Some Deep Purple/Black Sabbath worship. Check out their first album Leave the Light. Anyone who likes riffs and uptempo NWOBHM or doom will like it.

Fuck yeah! Meshuggah this week. Got it on preorder. Also, if anyone's following Varg Vikernes' (Burzum) youtube channel, he's been dropping a lot of exposition on the early 90's black metal scene and Euronymous in general. It's been great. Below is 1 of about 5 thus far...

I also lost it when he was a guest on an episode of Aqua Teen Hunger Force The Danzig episode was great.. I like some southern rock, and Zakk.. but wasn't sure whether to post any here. I've always liked COC especially. Geddy Lee also pops up in ATHF

Not black metal in the traditional sense, heard it called melodic black and it fits I guess.

Not a huge fan of Finntroll but this song is pretty great. Reminds me a little bit of Nekrogoblikon Speaking of Nekrogoblikon, I got some pics of them when they played here in town about a year ago. They were touring with Butcher Babies (ugh) but it was a great set. The goblin guy made it really hilarious. He went into the crowd and grabbed some girl's beer out of her hand and took a drink from it. Awesome. He also made his way to me and put his arm around my shoulder and both of us started head banging together. Will definitely see them again when the opportunity arrives.

Awesome, I haven't been to a metal concert since I saw Children of Bodom (not a big fan, but hell of a show) open for In Flames when A Sense of Purpose came out and holy shit it was awesome. Too bad Philly isn't closer bc I'm too lazy to drive that far by myself as I'm the only metalhead in my family/friends.
