A thread just for Heavy Metal?

Didn't know so many people liked that movie.

The Dillinger Escape Plan are calling it quits after the release of their latest (possibly last) album. They've been hit or miss with me over the years but no one can deny the fact that they have crafted their own unique sound for well over a decade. Talk about technical, DEP are hard to describe but I can only say it's a mix of technical/progressive/jazz/hardcore/metal and everything in between. They are also really famous for their intense and crazy live shows. I just ordered their latest record Dissociation and from what I've heard of from it it's amazing. Farewell DEP, may your last tour be one hell of a grind fest.

I got the new Meshuggah in the mail the other day and opening the case I was pleasantly surprised that the album came with free guitar picks. How sweet is that?


They are pretty thick picks but I guess you need them for 8-string guitars. This is also another reason why I still love buying physical copies of cd's instead of getting all digital music like these young millennial hipsters these days cuz you can't download free picks son   j/k

But now here's an obligatory Meshuggah post:

Crowbar and Goatwhore are playing in town tomorrow night. I'm going to try to catch them depending on how I feel after work (and if the show isn't sold out  )
