Enslaved's latest album is very good. I read that their keyboardist recently left so I'm not sure what all will change with the band. He also did all the clean singing on their last several albums and thought it was a good match with the music and balanced out the growls from the other vocalist.

Getting more excited about the new Sepultura. They released a new song a while back and it's pretty killer. They were my absolute favourite band in the mid-late 90's  ... now, yeah, not so much - it ain't no Dead Embryonic Cells that's for sure. |

... actually speaking of the mid-90s. I remember picking this up for a couple of quid at Tynemouth market:  Based purely on the Black Metal logo - never even heard of the band at the time. S'alright - the 2nd half of Shairak Rinnummh alone makes it worthwhile. |

They were my absolute favourite band in the mid-late 90's ... now, yeah, not so much - it ain't no Dead Embryonic Cells that's for sure. Their old stuff is classic for sure. Arise is probably my favorite album from that time. Still, even after Max left I really liked the stuff they were putting out afterwards. Wasn't the same as the old stuff but it was different with even more diversity and experimentation. I think they've been getting better with each album they release and they also try to work with a different producer each time which is insane. Now I can't stopping thinking about the Arise album |

Kreator has a new album dropping tomorrow. I'll probably get it since I have always thought they were one of the better speed metal bands out there and I've been kind of slacking on getting more music by them.

Haven't listened to some metal for a while and my brother bought me Hardwired for a Christmas present. Definitely enjoying the opening tracks a lot more then I did with Death Magnetic and Atlas Rise is amazing!! Certainly want to see them when they tour again, havent seen them since the St. Anger tour... but they only played three songs off the album so still a good set!  |
