Also, is it really PC players being able to datamine that is the reason why there's no PC tech test? I was under the impression that they're testing performance on lolconsoles to make sure nothing goes wrong. Then again, you'd think because PC builds tend to be very unique, that'd be a perfect reason to have such a thing.

Unlikely. They're probably testing their server infrastructure and general gameplay and for that they don't necessarily need the PC. And given that MEA has been postponed quite a bit my guess'd be they're simply not done with technical QA by the time the beta comes out. Releasing the beta to PC in that state would mean getting flooded with bug reports for things they're already aware of, which is hardly useful.

They're probably not exactly heartbroken to avoid any datamining this way as well, though.

My bet is a somewhat vague announcement in late January containing the dates, with a mid-late February launch. I'm also not completely sold on the idea of there being an NDA, but I guess anything's possible since it is a closed beta.

I am currently finding my huberistic huge N7 and challenge point score a source of burden and embarrassment in lobbies the way I have played since I returned to the game. I would not think of adding botb to my humiliation. The good ole Alt N& banner is where it's at.
