deadlydwarfBlackwall locks on the ramparts and Solas locks in the Fade Scene. I think the rampart scene happens regardless of points, so I kinda feel like it's not quite a fair fight if left up to random chance. If you are good points with Solas, and since you sided mages this is probably true, it's literally going to be who you talk to first.... meaning you have a lot of choice there. Cullen is the flirt before he moves to his office-then the flirt at the chess scene(soft lock that blocks others)- then the walk on the rampart for the first kiss. He does NOT require points, but you'd have to go click him two- three times in a row.

Have done two Solasmances in a row. Perhaps should try one of the other romances. (Have already done Josephine and Sera on a number of occasions. Boy does Sera need work and maintenance!) So Sera is the only one who angrily takes note about rivals? I guess having "friends" proves useful! No jealousy among the guys? (Not realistic at all! lol)

Technically, he should also rebuff you. I've never tried to soft lock with another and then flirst with Blackwall to see what he says....hahahahah. He's always been my hit it and quit it guy, so I soft lock him, ignore my intended romance till the breakup, then go date the other person SO FAR. No idea about Iron Bull. I've only romanced Solas/Cullen/Blackwall/Cass.

Any official word on that? I've seen nothing definitive; mostly speculation based on how long it takes BW to come out with sequels. Three years seems to be the magic number but nothing has been announced for 2017. (When was the new Mass Effects game's release date announced?) Dragging it out to 2020 seems a very bad idea. People will have forgotten about the game by then. My guess - and just a guess - is 2018 with an announcement in Fall 2017. No official word but the devs have said, via Twitter (check up the DA Twitter thread), that the DA team is presently split up between two productions; MEA and the secret IP. Those not involved seemed to be in pre-preparation; deciding / planning DA4. So the speculation is that if they show something / make an announcement this year, they're going to need at least three years to do it. Hence, 2020 or later. I also caught something in the Solasmance thread that the devs like this; canon maybe? The artist who did your comic strip - Daphne Hutcheson - is really pretty talented! I looked up her portfolio and saw some DA-theme tarot cards as well: www.behance.net/DKHutcheson

Is the Blackwall romance basically complete when you dump him? Or would there be other scenes? As to Josephine and Sera, Josie is rather easy. Flirt with her whenever given the opportunity and then help her with her family's problems. A nice rated-G romance. (You never do get to find out what she looks like under her "ruffles.") A Josie romance adds a couple lines when you meet her sister at the Winter Palace. My "deadly dwarf" romanced her. Sera is probably the hardest romance given all that girl's negative triggers, especially for elves and mages. (Actually not as difficult for a female Qunari.)

The judgement scene is the scene where the break up happens. if you stay together after judgement, the finished horsie scene is modified slightly and then there are two romance scenes in Trespasser- the catch up one and a very brief other one. Blackwall, Cullen, and Sera are the only ones who get "extra" scenes in Trespasser. Oh... but if you do stay with him, AND keep him a Warden, I've heard something bad happens? But have no personal confirmation. What I read somewhere is that if he's romanced and told to join the Wardens, he dies. I find this odd, because unromanced and in the Wardens he lives. I thought if a Dwarf romanced Sera it was just as good. I actually have two characters lined up for her. One an atheist Carta Queen Dwarf and the other a Dalish appreciating Qunari mage. Jose sounds boring but I've got one planned for her as well.

What I read somewhere is that if he's romanced and told to join the Wardens, he dies. I find this odd, because unromanced and in the Wardens he lives. Word of God - or at least word of his writer - says that he always dies if he joins the Wardens, but you only hear about it if you're in a romance with him, because then you're his next of kin and they send his stuff to you.

So I finally got DAI downloaded again and booted up my cranky elf dude for an evening of Dragon Age fun. Started by flirting with Josie. Got shut down -- gently. Flirted with Cassandra. Disgusted noise. Flirted with Vivienne. Nooooope. So then I decided women are for squares and took my slightly dented elf-ego back to Hinterlands, where I did a lot of random helping, cleared out some mercenaries, closed every fade rift, and got mobbed by bears. Like. Four bears at once. Big bears. It was a bit traumatic.
Then I took off to Storm Coast, where I recruited the Blades of Hessarian, and wandered away following the grey warden trail. I hadn't managed to do that before meeting Stroud in my previous playthroughs, so that was pretty cool. After finishing Storm Coast, I decided to chat with everyone and go to bed.
Turns out I'd managed to get Dorian fond of me, because his quest triggered as soon as I got back. Which was cool, because Dorian is always fun to hang out with. He and Blackwall have been my go-to this round. After returning from getting him to talk to his father, I hit my first flirt option with Dorian... And suddenly my elf's sucking his face. I was rather taken aback, since there'd been no prior flirting. And then I died laughing. On that note, I figured it was time to log out and go to bed.

Someone asked Sheryl Chee why he only dies if romanced (which didn't seem to make a whole lot of sense) and she clarified that non-romanced Warden Rainier dies, too, but the Wardens don't bother to tell the Inquisitor about it.

deadlydwarf And here I thought Cullen was easy. Like super easy. He's an advisor, doesn't even have points Prior to Solas, I never did any of the female to male companion/advisor romances, so I don't know; all unknown territory to me. I just know that after having the mages join the Inquisition on favorable terms for the mages, Cullen, IB, and Sera disapproved while Solas & Blackwall approved. What do you mean: "...doesn't even have points?" Is he a sure thing like Josephine? tacsear So, what do you think about Stolen Throne so far? That book is very suprisingly good. I thought it would be good but David Gaider is a true artist that shit is too good so far

With the close in camera for dialogues, the nice amber lighting of the tavern at Skyhold, the ambience is really cosy / alive when there is music playing in the background. Unfortunately, the music doesn't play all the time. The minstrel is kicked into singing when certain events happen. IB is in the party during the trip into the Fade. Boy does he talk alot with Solas. Too bad he doesn't say what frightful fear monsters he saw. I can't keep their chess game in my head (I feel I should have drawn out a chessboard and marked down their moves each time they talk) and it's still not finished. Solas has to think of his next move.

(I can never understand why, even as genuine Warden, he still doesn't get any special GW armor.) Oh well, I think I'll give the BW romance a shot. And I can't imagine not sending him to the GWs as his judgement. We'll see...

I thought it would be good but David Gaider is a true artist that shit is too good so far Stolen Throne is great for setting things up in Origins; you understand Ferelden's history, why people think of Loghain as a hero, and why he's totally opposed to the idea of an alliance with Orlais to fight the Blight. The second Gaider book is The Calling. It also takes place before the Blight though I would strongly recommend against reading it before a first PT of Origins. It has some spoilers that would ruin some of the dramatic surprises that are part of a first PT of Origins. The Calling is especially good before playing the Awakening DLC. It explains certain characters and concepts you will run into. Also more insights into Loghain. There were some things I didn't like in the last third of the book, but still worth a read. The third book, Asunder, is Gaider's best book. Read after DA2 but before Inquisition. It explains the world you encounter at the beginning of Inquisition. Paul Weekes, the current lead writer, wrote the next book: The Masked Empire. It explains Orlais and Orlesian politics and is good for explaining the situation you run into in the second part of Inquisition. It also introduces some characters you will run into as well. There are also Dragon Age comics but I'm not sure where those fit in with respect to the chronology of the games. There's also the anime movie, Dawn of the Seeker, which introduces the character Cassandra Pentaghast. Good to watch before DA2 and especially before Inquisition. They really should have a sticky thread for all the Dragon Age books, comics, etc.

Stolen Throne occupied my life for 2 days now, I was learning coding before the books arrived now they have become my life just when I thought I cannot be obsessed to Dragon Age more

deadlydwarfMy second time of intended hit it and quit it with Backwall- ended up staying with him BECAUSE of the "Stay Thom and redeem yourself" line. It was really great! Then I followed up with something sassy and grr. To be honest, the whole Val Royeuox and judgement thing was great RP drama, so I played through the scenes up to 6 times each to make sure I picked the perfect lines for my character. The epilogue slides were very good and heartwarming, what my gal was accomplishing WITH Thom, not a Warden. It was my favorite play through so far and Mara is my posting avatar. She even rode the Bull then noped out of that before soft locking on the ramparts with Blackwall. Cullen is my #1, but so far, Blackwall is my #2. And the comics go after DA2.... Magekiller may as well be read at the last third of the Inquisition game or even after Inquisition. Contains no major Spoilers but does have characters you may not otherwise know. One of them is a certain Tevinter mage that could? Be a spoiler.

She looks very pixie -like. I like her . I'm not very good with that face shape, but you did a great job. If I would go for the first romance available, I would mostly end with Blackwall or Solas, they are the first to make advances, even if I don't flirt with them. I wish, I'll be as organised as you and other players and finish one playthrough before starting another, but I often have 3-4 playthroughs simultaneous, that's why it take me so long to finish one With your multiple simultaneous PTs, you could try all the romance options at one time! (Except for Cass; she doesn't do girls!) I think after recruiting the mages, both Cullen and Sera will quickly come to nothing. The race will be between Solas, Blackwall, and the ever versatile Josephine. I try to visit all the companions after every major adventure and hit every heart. We'll see which one commits first! Cullen is very easy too, but phoray had explained that already. I've romanced Blackwall with Lyana (my rogue, whom I finished the game with), I'm romancing Iron Bull with Riya and will probably romance Cullen with another character. I don't know what to do with my dwarf Lia, she is actually the only one that would be perfect for Solas, but alas - wrong race. Maybe she will go for Jospehine. I'm not so keen for Sera, I kind of like her as a character, but am not interested in the romance. Same with Solas. I probably will at one point make a guy for the Dorian romance

I probably will at one point make a guy for the Dorian romance You do need to make an "elfy" elf to romance Solas! It's a nice romance and good for lore. Probably best with a Dalish elf mage who can appreciate what Solas says about seeing memories in the Fade. She has to be open enough to accept that the Dalish may have gotten some things wrong with respect to preserving the elven culture. It makes for a more touching climax in Trespasser. Unless you have a female Qunari planned, your Lia might be perfect for Sera. She's not an elf and she's not a mage. And the Sera romance is fun if you're willing to dodge a couple of landmines. Josephine is a good fallback position if your desired target becomes unattainable.

Josephine is a good fallback position if your desired target becomes unattainable. I tried with Solas, I really did. I made Riya solely for the Solas romance, but in the Fade it is always 'Hell, no'. So she ended up with Iron Bull, whose romance is surprisingly well written and deep (and I don't even like Qunari that much). My elfs are very elfy usually in that sense, that they like their lore and culture, but they are usually not single minded and open for new things. So yeah, they would probably all fit the profile, but I don't like all the drama in the end. Solas and Sera are bit too much for my taste, he with the drama and huge surprise at the end and she being so iffy about everything. I wont say, that I will never do one of those romances... I have two elven archers just before IHW, I could see one of them (the redhead, I posted a few pages before, Lírel) falling for Mr. Bad Surprise. But at the moment, I like my Bull romance and I'm looking forward to Cullen (which surprises me too, because I hated Cullen in DAO and DA2 with a passion, but he changed a lot for the better in DAI)

My elf mage enjoyed hitting on the poor Cullen and he literally made a run for it! He kind of got even when she returned to save the Circle and he said some rather embarrassing things about her while trapped in the force field.

One of my favorite things about this game: I looooove listening to the mages talk shop. MAGICAL THEORY. MAGICAL ALGORITHMS. AHHHH. Hearing Solas chastise Vivienne for frontloading her barriers, hearing Dorian scandalize Solas with talk of binding spirits, hearing Viv and Dorian debate the merits of Northern and Southern Circles... hnnnng. It's so good.

Approaching the end. There's FO and AW, then final boss fight. I'm still not going to do Trespasser even though I love everything in it.
Thinking of the next PT. I have to redo another elf for Solas because I accidentally deleted the other char. It happened when I was running my nephew through the game and found that I had max out the save slots. I'm likely to do a elven warrior, S&S, since I think a greatsword is over big for an elf. But then I should know looks aren't everything; I have often been misjudged to be weak because I was so scrawny and then I surprised the doubters by doing something they never thought I could do. If I had been born in a farming family, no one would be surprised.
I think I will change the party too. Cass is perma. Likely Sera and Viv; I'll make sure never to do any companion dialogues with them. The former I can't be bothered with, the latter because I don't want her to slyly slip her ass onto the sunburst throne when I don't want to see her there. Their travel banter should be interesting.
