Hmmm...a 2 meter tall Qunari and a one meter tall dwarf; the mechanics of such a relationship would be....interesting! My deadly_dwarf romanced Josie and even though she's not super tall, she still had to bend over to kiss him! Yeah, I guess, that will be interesting , but I think, they would fit well together characterwise. Obsidian GryphonThat would be interesting. I always liked, how they inserted Lorien in the Babylon 5 storyline and I would love to see something like that in DA. Solas was a bit like first and second Kosh in one person imo

That gets me thinking...where were the humans in the pre-Veil world? The Dalish, at least, remember that there once was Arlathan and that elves were once immortal. None of the human lore and legends seems to cover or hint in any way how humans lived before Solas created the Veil. If I remember correctly, during the foray into the Qunari lyrium mine operation, you at least find evidence that dwarves existed during this period. Living underground was perhaps their only protection from a Veil-less world filled with magic which they lacked. But what of humans and Qunari? I really hope we don't have to wait until 2020 to get answers! lol For that, I think they put JOH in for a reason; how the early *barbarians dealt and lived with a world that had no Veil. If the Veil is lifted, the Avvar are the ones who will survive the best because they have defenses already in place and they've experience in living with spirits / demons. The softer / plusher humans will perish faster because their fears will overwhelm them. Their nightmares will come alive everywhere. Friendly Avvar like Stone-Bear Hold might become refuge points for survivors until the situation can be resolved. Human kingdoms will fall and diminish. If Solas does indeed lift the Veil. * Solas spoke of watching barbarians marching (to war?) while he was in the Fade. I take it to mean humans who had not established present kingdoms / cities. I think the ancient dwarves also formed a mutual understanding with the Titans which is why there're cities within that Titan in Descent. I doubt the ancient Qunari were anything like their present form. IB said they have another name (I forgot what it is). For all we know, the original race were also capable of magic and interact with spirits like the elves. Present qunari could be offshoots of some magic tinkering hence their abhorrence of magic. They rebelled and went south. P.S. Just had a thought. Wouldn't it be a bombshell if Solas say (if there's a chance of a dialogue) lifting the Veil would also offer a chance of eliminating the Blight? POW!

^ * I finished the present PT. Leliana is Divine. Yay! I also got the Cullen cutscene after the Samson trial. I actually don't remember seeing this in a few PTs even though I chose to side with mages. My guess is, it never kicked in, which is odd. I can only surmise that then, my play pattern was different from the current sequence and somehow, it just got lost or something. I also have a slightly different dialogue with Flemeth because in this PT, Morrigan does not have a son. I thought the elven Inq would kneel, the human female Inq did, but she didn't. I might start Trespasser to check out if there's a difference in dialogue from Cass if the Inq visit Cullen first and got married. I usually talk to her first because of her awkward manner in the beginning and funny reaction when she realised Varric's pulled another one on her.

I've finished my second MET run, and picked up my first DA playthrough, playing DA2 from where I left Revel the Rogue outside the Lothering.
I was really surprised by Carver's almost immediate demise, and Aveline joined the party. Mrs. Witch of the Wild looked much cooler in the second instalment.
Overall, I have no idea how the character build system works in DA2, but well, whatever, hopefully on normal difficulty it doesn't matter what I select. Fighting itself is rather boring, with too much sitting back watching auto attacks.
The Kirkwall looks sort of nice, but graphics is still rough around the edges (and the hair, heh, the hair...), but as I grew accustomed to the artstyle, I am rather happy with how Revel looks. I guess, I am just about to run a bunch of sidequests in the city, as Ravel have met the dwarven rogue, Varric, and needs to raise a huge sum of 50 soverens.

Finished Trespasser today. My "canon" Inquisitor run has been fully played through! Only thing I missed was finishing the darned fireworks game. Too annoying, too terribly annoying. I also need to remind myself not to read Sera's journal pre-Darvaraad...her last few lines bring out my inner two-year-old every time and I get a little sniffly.
Now it's on to giving Mass Effect another try! Or maybe going back to Origins and doing an Aeducan run, never gotten that very far and I really wanna try...no! Mass Effect! At least gotta make the attempt!

There are some great moments in DA2, so stick with it. Just use logic for the builds. If you looked at the thread where people voted on what was their favorite DA game, DA2 did surprisingly well. People really liked the companions and the contrast between them. As you'll see, it's a very different game from Origins. And Inquisition is a lot different from DA2. All great in their own way, but very distinct from each other. Have fun!

Now what was the fireworks game about? Somehow, I totally missed that. Right before the final sequence, when it's night at the palace, you can go over towards where Cassandra was hanging out during the day, but take a left instead of a right. There's a bunch of fireworks you can activate and then detonate to do a celebratory show. Depending on how impressive your show is, you get rated on a score up to 100, and will earn bonus Magic and Willpower stats. However, the window for detonating the fireworks to get the best effect is extremely short and unforgiving.

Blackwall and Sera are the only ones ballsy enough to make dick jokes in the Deep Roads.
Sera: Why are dwarves so short but carve their tunnels so tall? Blackwall: They choose to show their stature in other ways... or it's compensation. Sera: Okay, the second obvious reason is funny you answered. You're swinging a giant sword around! Blackwall: That's not compensation. That's a counterweight.

Well, we are snowed under here, so I spent a lot of my day playing DA2.
The resemblance to Baldur's Gate 2 is uncanny, with magic being persecuted, and Gallows reminding me of Spellhold, deep Roads reminiscent of the Underdark. The quests in the city, that is very much like the good old Athkatla, of which there were many, were not a burden so far, as a lot of them allowed for meeting and greeting the companions. So far, the only companion I did not talk to and recruited was Isabella. I already have a competition between Varric, Anders and Merrill for those two slots in the party.
I liked how DA2 reworked Elven faces, and Fenris in particular in the game looks way better than on a 2D portrait (so does Merill). Fenris overall is the most interesting character of the batch because he is voicing the anti-Mage sentiments in a ways that does not make you roll your eyes. It is very hard in this game not to be feel for the mages, as they are obviously as oppressed as the elves, and we are conditioned to root for those oppressed.
I like Merrill less than the new take on Anders, but i am tempted to keep the party human-free... I will probably just rotate Varric and Merril depending on what we are doing.
Very happy with my descision to play a rogue, the animations are great. I love the oriental-inspired stuff.
The biggest concern is the lack of gear for companions, though I read eventually I should be able to upgrade their gear or maybe get something new for them.
Overall, the game is very pleasant, and, certainly far better than the first one imo.

About the gear updates for the companions: check the vendors (I can't remember, which vendors exactly – but worth it, because the vendors have the backpack upgrades too), and always check the chests on the companion's quest places. I never found all character's all upgrades: I'm just too lazy to yheck the wiki while I play, but I hope, I helped somehow. (You right about Fenris, and he will not disappoint – I had no patience for him at first sight, and not found too attractive especially besides Anders, but the second chance did absolutely worth it, I found him interesting.)

Took a break and decided to do some dragon battles. I had a weird glitch with the Exalted Plains dragon. It got stuck in a tight spiral, airborne, at one hit point, able to attack and be hit by missiles, but unable to be killed. I had to hoof it back to camp to heal everyone up. When I got back it was unstuck, at full HP, but able to be killed normally.

Sabrae cleaned Heidrun Thaig of Darkspawn. First time I've done it with the Travel Light trial. Usually I need to use all the potions from all the supply caches, so I was surprised she managed to do it on her first try. (With some sneaky running into covers to revive and heal her companions, but still). She then got promptly killed by the enemies below and I learned that the game had in fact not quick saved after the fight, despite me hammering the button like mad once the fight ended. Luckily auto-save had my back or she'd have been a very irate Inquisitor.

I'm already sighing with impatience; two banters between Solas and Sera. The latter, predictably, made rude farting noises when he spoke in elvan (damn I wished I knew what he said. I doubt he was saying anything rude) and implied he should be using proper words . That fardling shit statement of hers reminds me of an implementation here that wipes out a dialect from common use; every new generation is losing touch and ability to communicate with the elders unless they made an effort to learn it. I switched over to Varric temporarily while I "indoctrinate" myself to try to pretend I didn't hear anything rude or irritating. I made a S&S elf warrior. Dang if the shield doesn't look as if it would topple her over. I got the horn of valor fast as that's the best skill to build up everyone's barriers.

Tried to woo Cass as my Human Rogue. Talked to Solas about stuff - just completed the game on another char and its only the second time doing so. The ending is still fresh in my mind so talking about the orb and Corypheus with Solas is very interesting. I am at Skyhold as of this moment and lvl 15. Currently on the mission Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts. Oh, I also decided to ally with the Qunari via Iron Bull. Can't wait to see the effect that has on the world (hopefully it will be a bigger thing than just a codex later down the road).
Yesterday I tried to play trespasser and got stuck on the Eluvian - infinite loading screen. FML its the first time actually playing Trespasser and I can't even play it! I just want to see how everything ends for once. OFC I've heard that it ends on a cliffhanger with something to do with solas, but never actually seen it.
I guess I am wondering if when I drank from the well of sorrows with my char if since Flemeth died if I actually am still bound to her (or now to solas)
P.S. Don't spoil it for me please.

If you're on PC, Trespasser is fine if it's run vanilla. I have played it a few times that way. However if you're using mods, some of the mods will clash with the DLC. Using the cmd line (for 60 fps) will also cause a failure to bring up the party selection once you use the first eluvian. I was using mods for a recent pass at Trespasser so transit inevitably failed. I managed to get through by forcing a transit but that PT for the DLC is horribly glitched that I did not get cutscenes I should have. I did get the ending though. As far as I can figure, body, hair or eye mods will clash with the DLC. Although the eye mod I used is supposed to be lore friendly and there has been no problems with the main game and the other two DLCs, I removed it and noticed an immediate improvement to game / zone loading; the usual mere seconds instead of almost a minute.

Thanks, will try deleting the mods I have installed. Don't have any cosmetic mods, but I do have some that have to do with specializations. Its been so long since I installed the mods that I have completely forgotten how they work with inquisition Will have to look it up. Also, I saw that if you play with a controller for PC that can mess it up as well. Will have to try both uninstalling mods and playing without a controller.

The march to Skyhold happened. I waited with bated breath - for the white screen of death. It didn't happen. Yay! So which mod is the culprit? The eye texture mod. All the other mods; body, skyhold armor, etc are present. I got a surprise in the Cass - Varric fight. Cass always said : He did bring Hawke. (pause) Go, just go, Varric. (Varric exchanges a look with Inq and leaves but not before he has the last word) But this time, she said : Hawke is with us now, as are you. (Varric, et, etc and leaves) Wait, what did I do different this time??? Does the presence of certain companions in the party affect the dialogues? Was it because I always had Cass and Varric in the party for the old PTs that they build up some rapport that she would say the first example? For the last two PT, Hawke did not stay near the ramparts. For some reason, I found her with the requisition fellow. This time, she's hiding somewhere else ...
