Why am I getting an odd impression I am being subtly manipulated to get it on with Cullen? Because he is great in every way! He's handsome (in most scenes. In Val Royeux the lighting was hideous.) Because flirting with him, he is adorable! *cough* "Hmmm huh" Smile- hand on neck. Because he worries about you before you run out to fight the dragon at haven. "But if you go out there, you'll die!" Deep look--realization- heavy silence-- nod. Because he admits to worrying about you more fully when you arrive at Castle! "When you went out there I.... I'm just promising you, I'll never let it happen again. You have my word." Because he is the only one, regardless of gender/romance, that asks you how you're handling your Quiz Duties! Cass comes mildly close but it's worded differently. In a admiring, how do you be so awesome way. Cullen is more like, "A lot had been going on, and I'm honestly wondering how you are feeling." Because the Chess scene feels like an actual date! you don't get that in any of the other romances. Maybe Sera's roof time? might come close. His hugs-- the way he holds you-the way he kisses you, the way his culmination scene spoke of passion! Because he is only one of two characters who get a major romantic event in Trespasser that is SUPER COOL AND HASN'T BEEN DONE ELSEWHERE. He's tops for fave romance for me, although I know Dorian will give him a run for best vanilla game romance- but Dorian's Trespasser stuff is not as good and I honestly consider Trespasser to be part of the main game. Not to be missed. Like LEgacy is for DA2! And that's enough about Cullen but I lurve him. By the way! I think maybe you like DA2 art as well because that engine is what the entire ME Triology used. I'm a straight man but I am a little ashamed to say that I'm a sucker for Cullen romance

There are multiple degrees of separation from the character, and various ways of self-insertion. On more than one occasion I was playing as a deserving LI of my dashing male protagonist because dashing males were in short supply in this or that game.

He seems like the Liara of ME trilogy, I always thought Shepard and Liara had a connection of some sorts and in DAI it is the same with Cullen and femQuiz Liara was not subtle about the connection. Heck, the girl swooned when she came within three feet of Shepard or looked at him/her for too long. Not to debase the elevated asaari ways about the whole "it's more than sex", but it was pretty much impossible not to take what was thrown at ya. Maybe it's the horns, but Cullen never swooned when he looked at Dusk, or gave her more than the latest update on the recruit training, and that's under duress. That heart in a convo with him came as a complete surprise to me. If I did not know in advance Cullen was a romantic option, I would have never guessed. Unless he only throws longing glances and bits his lip when gals in the 4 to 5.8 feet height range pass a little too close to him on their way to the Chantry.

I started another DAI PT - this time as a female elven rogue archer. I want to try mixing archer skills with the Assassin specialization to see if I can duplicate the kind of rogue archer my Hawke was in DA2. In the CC, I used fylimar's Riya sliders to create the PC though I opted for light skin rather than Riya's olive complexion and I gave her dark brown hair (at least a move away from the blonde hair, emerald eyes look I had been using). The end result, of course, looks a lot different than Riya. Sadly, she lacks Riya's "cuteness" factor. But given my lack of artistic talent, anything that looks better than the Medusa of Greek mythology is acceptable! Also - another fylimar rec - I outfitted her with rogue Raven armor. Combine that outfit with the "Bow of the Dragon" and the end result looks like a barefoot Batgirl! I say it again: she looks great and I'm a bit touched, that someone would use my sliders. I'm more the dark skin/brown eyed type and I think, that DAI finally managed to get dark skin working, it actually looks really great. But you really rock the lighter skin. And the Raven's armor is one of the best armor mods, I've ever seen. I'm so glad, the modder worked out the problems s/he had with that armor crashing the game in Skyhold. Someone said on Nexus, that it even works with Trespasser. BTW: Lyana, the first elf, I finished DAI with, was an archer assassin - it was a fun build and worked well for me.

Riya is at Emprise du Lion. She met a chevalier named Michel and promised him to help him get rid of Imshael, a demon, who is helping the red templars. On their way to Suledin Keep, Riyas group managed to destroy a few more red lyrium veins and fought another of the apostate groups, Cassandra was so worried about. Of course Imshael had no chance against Riyas charme and stonefist (I'm still loughing about the 'Choice Spirit', I swear, even Solas was giggling in the background) Riya had to get in touch with her inner elf in Emprise du Lion - it all looked so elfy there

I never felt 'left out', most of the time was more like 'thank the creators/ancestors/deity of choice that I don't have to deal with that noble shit on regular basis, I rather go and deal with darkspawn'. I normally love to play the outsider in most games. Yeah the Landsmeet decisions are pretty neat, but if you like to have both Loghain and Alistair dead, you could recruit Loghain and let him sacrifice himself at the end, AListair gets executed by Anora, all is well Yeah I mean back in 2009 when I first played DAO on my trusty Xbox360 (those were the days) I played an elven mage who obediently went through all the motions and who became a good martyr by sacrificing herself in the end. I think she even had a thing with Alistair, if I remember correctly. Oh well... Those were the days But I never enjoyed it all that much. I think I appreciate DAO a bit more now, although it's still way behind DAI and especially DA2. I played Awakening for the first time last autumn, and it was a disappointment in all aspects, unfortunately. I actually thought about doing as you suggested, but I didn't really want to let either of the men die with any measure of honor And I was tired of Loghain because I recruited him in my last PT Although if I end up playing Origins again at some point, I think I'll probably make Loghain a controversial hero by allowing him to sacrifice himself for the Archdemon. It would conclude his story nicely. Anyhow, I'm happily playing DA2 again and I've really grown to like the default Hawke. I think I'll change her hairstyle once in a while, but her face is really suited for the aggressive style. Her strong chin is really appealing, and that blood smear Now I think I'll just leave before turning this post into unashamed Hawke drooling...

just finished DA2
- sided with the templars - Bethany learned that the clown calling himself Orsino knew about the dirtbag who killed mom, could have been prevented if he reported him - I didn't let Meredith kill my sister. I maybe a heartless Hawke, but family comes first no matter what
When Meredith calls for the Right, Cullen isn't present. Had he been there, he could have over ruled having Meredith step down. Would Meredith fight back? Most likely.
Now to the scene where the 3 mages surrender. I chose the dialogue to hear what Cullen has to say. It was much more dire in Feledon than at present, but a lot of mages were saved. At that point, I would've had Cullen tell Meredith to step down ending any fighting at that point. especially when he tells the other templars to take the 3 mages in custody when the Champion says arrest them. Would Meredith fight back? Yes.
As much as I like Meredith, I believe the only way she could have lived is if a couple of templars were to grab her by the arms before she could grab her sword, then throw her in jail to cool off.
I would be curious how Bartrand got in contact with Meredith to sell the idol. I would also be curious where she got the coin to pay. Maybe being a Knight-Commander pays well. I don't know.

Orsino knew, that Quentin is an apostate, and studied forbidden magic, but didn't know, that he was a serial killer. I never understood why a captive should cooperate with the prison guards? I think Orsino was too loyal. 2. At the moment I think, possible Cullen would have been capable of support Meredith's request for the Right of the Annulment. When she sent it, Cullen still believed her and afraid from the mages. 3. Meredith probably used the financial resources of the Order.

I'm so glad you are researching this ethically and purely theoretically and not actually ripping people apart and performing sadistic blood magic rituals on their still-living bodies!" If you want to claim Orsino was ignorant of what Quentin was up to, then you also need to argue was a complete freaking idiot. And as for why he should cooperate...because it was the right thing to do. Orsino was utterly corrupt. The only irony is that he was innocent of the one thing Meredith thought he was guilty of...but only that.

And I suppose, Orsino didn't know about Emeric's investigate's details. He didn't know about, that Quentin was serial killer, until it was too late. Don't forget: Meredith stopped the investigation, and wrote an apologise letter to Gascard DuPuis. This is the natural consequence of such a system. The oppressed people do not cooperate with their oppressors. The prison-Circles = false sense of security.

Not Anders!
Okay, now I *have* to get that whatever thing Corypheus is, Take 1. I am not going to sleep till I am done killing it. Aww, Anders! Nobody kills Anders... erm... save for Hawke, obviously.

This moment? Interesting scene. The false calling is strong enough to mess up Anders/Justice. (This is why Hawke left Anders in a safe place, when went to the Skyhold.)

Aj, yes. All done. The last battle was so boring, making the team run behind the beams. But Varric cracked me up: "I swear, if he pulls a dragon out of his ass..." I got that vile smile on Larius' lips in the end. OMG, it was foretold! Figure 1. Revel (to something else entirely) We may never know the truth... (and look at that flattering lighting in 'em mysterious prisons!) I felt doubly lonely back in Hawke's Mansion, in his far too well arranged bedroom. The last family scene was sweet. Going to miss ya, Revel! (And, imported that bit into the official Tapestry as well. Just in case.)

Yeah, Cullen is great. Cullen is the like the water of life pitcher from which all female Inquisitors must drink And probably the only advisor/companion in addition to Varric that I really liked in DAI. Others were either unimpressive or just boring/annoying. His romance was terrific, too! I must investigate his romantic content in Trespasser as well. It doesn't hurt either that he is so good-looking. He must have had a few plastic surgeries between DAO and DAI, though... maybe the Templar order paid for the operations to compensate for his traumas first in Ferelden and then in Kirkwall? Cullen is like a small, fearful puppy which must be petted and hugged until they become happy again. I think he's the male/canine counterpart of Merrill. Both are very cute

So roughly a week ago Varrys rode his horse to the Winter Palace and met up with old friends. The scene with Cassandra was sad. Her concern he was going to propose and... ...I want him to so badly. How can she choose destiny and duty over this face? Seriously. (Whoever it was who designed him and posted his slides on reddit thank-you for bringing Varrys to life for me.) This playthrough was the first time I had ever bothered to try to catch the harlequins. What a complete pain in the bum. I sucked big time at trying to sneak up on them and found it easiest to just make a save point on the balcony above the baths and try drop on to their heads. If I never again hear that Orlesian woman whinge about how Fereldens do not like mingling it will be too soon. So this means that in Tesspasser I have at least once: Collected all the dog bones, Righted all the paintings, Found the hallas, cought the harlequins, Exploded those Fireworks, Unlocked the Skin that Stalks, Worked out who Fen'harel was before he tells you... ...Is there any secrets left for me to explore before Varrys starts the Exalted Council in earnest?

I fired up DAI last night. I continued a previous playthrough. I had no idea it was a character at level 3. I will make an effort to finish this playthrough. My Inquisitor, not yet anyways, is a female human mage named Haha. Yes you read correctly. Apparently her parents have a sense of humor, hahaha. Get it? Went to the Hinterlands. Collecting weeds. Killing rams. Fighting mages and templars and mercs. Even closed a couple of rifts. Talk with the Giselle mother. I need to visit the Val something. I don't know. It's some city in Orlais. Too bad I can't charter a plane to take me there. Haha. There it is. I can see why my character would get annoyed with that. I will post screenshots later. I'm not sure what I will do in this playthrough.

After a couple days without any time to play, I finally was able to come back to Kirkwall yesterday, yay! Not a lot to say, except that Hawke has already realized that "helping people and killing people are what [she's] best at" and that I'm ready to go into the Deep Roads, which is one of my favourite moments in the game simple stories about killing monsters and getting rich are cute, we need more of those

Ghost Leandra popping up had me cry a tear. I was just laughing too hard at Bethany's assertion that Malcolm was so proud of Carver and Revel too, his warrior and his... erm... how should we put it? Aha! His Scoundrel. Well, yeah, I suppose if you are a Blood Mage, a ninja and a thug of a son, with a talent for thieving too, is something to be proud of. I've never really bought into everyone being my family. Never warmed up to Leandra, and always felt like they were more like childhood friends or neighbors Revel fell in with. Even more with Blaze, because I certainly did not think sisterly thoughts about Carver. Heh, I am an only child, so it's hard for me to get the whole siblings thing. Oh, well, I guess it's back to the breadth of the Exalted Plains for Sin. Speaking of fathers, I sort of feel for Pavus Senior. He'd only made his peace with Dorian's escape from family bonds and duties, and that he will see his bloodline extinguished, now he has to process a Qunari Super-Inquisitor heretical boyfriend. In for a penny.... Edit: before I forgot, Anders vs Dorian's reaction to Tevinter magister starting the blight... priceless. Ah, Dorian, you are so impeccable, and Anders, you are so very close to a human being, it hurts. My love, heh.

Dealt with arseholes. So many arseholes. Dwarves have zero chill.
"I cannot believe Duncan would offer such an honor."
"You're lucky they didn't execute you on the spot, brand. I would've."
"That offer should've gone to my brother."
"The headsman is already sharpening the axe for you."
"Go to the surface where you belong."
"There's no way you could have won without cheating."
"I can't believe it. A dirty little duster..."
"(Spits)"
"The Wardens may want you, but you're still nothing down here."
"Just the kind of trash a human would pick up."
"You deserve to die for insulting the ancestors."

Sweet?! Man. I guess I just liked Leandra and Warden Carver too much.

Edit: before I forgot, Anders vs Dorian's reaction to Tevinter magister starting the blight... priceless. Ah, Dorian, you are so impeccable, and Anders, you are so very close to a human being, it hurts. My love, heh. Dorian not idealistic, Anders is. And also Anders full of doubts. His whole life about the oppression and freedom. He's Andrastian, but don't want to believe, that the Chantry told the truth about the mages (and he's right, the Chantry lied so much about the mages, but not about everything). He prepares a terrible thing for the mages, and would like to believe it's worth it. He knows the truth, that the mages are dangerous, and not once they abused their power (and so angry because of it), but he needs his illusion. (Anders very human, not everyone notice this.) Dorian saw Tevinter, he hasn't illusion, he knows what corrupt is his homeland, despite he loves this land, and want make better that. He doesn't need illusion.

She definitely looks Mediterranean! Now did you get that from the CC or a mod? Is the Calpernia complexion mod supposed to help with darker skin?

finished Jaws of SmackOn. then did Arbor Wild...nothing to report. Next, Deep Roads because i think the Darkspawn fight ( the one before we hit the gold shitting blue dwarves ) is the best in the whole game, the only one creating a real ambience , shame final boss is dumb as f*** . oh, i just realized, got to go get all that gold on the Frostbite island. $$$$

I have mods in DAO and DA2 that make the darker skin colors work (and put in even darker ones), but in DAI, I don't use such a mod, only what the CC gives me
