"I can not endanger your life." Or something similar bullshit. I'm glad, that my Trevelyan went for Cassandra. You see, why I prefer Anders: he wants to share his life, if Hawke wants too. Part of the charm of the franchise is that the companions move on and become movers and shakers in Thedas. His story-line is actually very well done, and you can see that he is going to return to Tevinter eventually and assume his duties almost immediately. So, unlike Alistair, I did not expect the "lived happily ever after" ending. Heh, I will keep bringing it up all the time, but tbh the thing that bothered me the most was that an elf could not remain a mistress and a nice person. Anders was more of a pleasant surprise, tbh, I did not expect the romance outlast the game, despite of Anders need to be attached. I don't truly feel there is a problem with the character development, in fact, it's very well done, but it's sad to start a DLC on that note of saying farewell. At least it was not just implied, and chances are, both Dorian and Fenris reappear in Tevinter setting, since the two of them are notable denizens of the Imperium and have a stake in whatever upheaval is starting in the North. Probably Dorian's romance would be better in DA4... but still I don't understand, why a TREVELYAN wouldn't able to join to him? I can accept, that a qunari not (this is why my second choice was a qunari with him... to have some sense of the story). He simply couldn't take the risk of their relationship... (I don't really want to see Fenris in DA4. 99%, that it would be disappointing. Dorian would be nice.)

I'm thinking for a human noble, maybe it has something to do with family connections? Dorian's father was assassinated, so Dorian didn't want to risk his amatus' life even though they're distantly related. I could be wrong on that.
BUT... looking at the bigger picture, do you honestly think the former Inquisitor can just waltz into Tevinter to openly help Dorian? Not only does he have a big target on his back, because everybody knows him, Tevinter is more of a shark tank than Orlais and their grand game.

Not mentioned, that the Assassins are international: so they could to find him anywhere, not only in Tevinter. Thanks for such protection, very touching, really, but don't need. I think he just not wanted a burden/distraction/scandal(?). He even married a noble woman for his homeland finally?

Or he might be reading something into his partnership with Mae that I'm almost certain isn't there. Edit: Anyway, Weeper Cadash went to talk to Iron Bull today and found Cassandra hitting Bull with a stick... while another Cassandra practiced with her sword directly behind him. That was trippy. Maybe Weeper needs to drink less. (But then he is a dwarf, so maybe he needs to drink more.)

Kinda want to smack that male Dalish gatekeeper. Do not like the Marethari mod.
@domi Merril just told me Hawke is lucky not to have been killed by Flemeth, for most end up hanging in pieces from the trees. Flemeth Adds later that she raised Morrigan to be exactly as she is.
Hawke: "You Keeper didn't tell us you were a mage." Fenris: "It must be hard to get rid of something nobody wants." Ouch, Fenris. That's a cold burn right there. And Anders thinks the Dalish got it pretty sweet, being all nomadic. Interesting I don't recall him ever saying that before. "Isn't the Dalish comraderie you got here warming." Look at you Anders. Love the sarcasm. ^^ Merril does sound a bit unsure when she says, "I know what I'm doing." Ya know, all these ruins on Sundermount have got to be younger than Ancient Elf times. They didnt even need stairs back then...well, built crappy right into a mountain, anyway. -Wow, Flemeth actually says stuff to Isabella. Not very complimentary, but still. -Seb is so handsome with this mod. ^^ Not bald and a nice goatee. -in general, it is soooo nice to get consistent banter again.ME and TW3 were my most recent games, we all know banter is light in those.

Dorian is surrounded by dangerous people, and a lot of them want the Inquisitor dead. Your answer to that is "the life is dangerous," with the implication that there's not much point to trying to make it less so, but a lot of people don't think like that. And some who might feel that way about their own lives think twice about saying that about their loved ones lives. And if the Assassins could find him outside Tevinter, they can't do so as easily, and they have less reason to if the Inquisitor stays out of Tevinter.

The writers wrote Dorian as a witty peacock, whose favorite theme is the fashion, and finally go away (not mentioned his background story...). This is just not my favorite romance. But probably it makes sense to separate them. We'll see.

And speaking of Bangable Elves: want to add two more once imgur stops messing with me Hawke looks younger, that's good, and Sebastian looks better, Fenris not (probably I just used his old design), also Merrill (probably same reason than in Fenris' case). I brought up Default Hawke, changed his eye color, hair, and skin. The mod allowed a real looking scar instead of the weird blood smear in the same spot. So, all in all, just tweaks. Fenris is the same except for hair and clothes as well. I once had a mod that smoothed his skin and decided it made him look like jail bait so took it off. I prefer his swarthy sexiness instead. I like the Merril Mod if I ever have romance with her, she is just... between personality and looks, she just appeared too young for such things. ^^ If I must play uncomfortable on a computer, everyone shall meet my appearance requirements! Mwuahahaha. I wanted to upload the Anders Pic and Isabella with pants. AS well as what this mod did to Keeper Marethari @_@ But I've tried several times over last ten minutes, but Pandora is streaming just fine. So it must be Imgur.

So. Human mage. The choice isn't a choice really. Between mages and templars, why choose the latter?
Got pulled into the past and saw a lot of things. I chose mages before and I always get an itch at the back of my teeth. This is one part where the dialogues / writing should have been more solid. Why can't I ask Fiona / Leliana for more information about the Elder One? It's stupid isn't it? A chance to ask questions of past events, especially the big bad villain, and you can't. Are we pressed for time? No we're not, no one knows we're there. So why can't I spend the next 30 mins pulling all the info from those two?
The devs could have written an alternate path of what had happened before but change it once the time line is reset. The villain could still be named; Corypheus, a Tewinter magister from the past, etc, etc. Heck, they could make up some other stuff for him but once time is reset, nothing is certain any more. The chars could discuss what had been learned but there'll be doubts whether anything would still happen the way it did. The devs could even do some twists if there're opportunities. As it is, they missed the chance to hit a home run.
I brought Solas along this time. One look outside and he said the Veil has been torn down. Lovely, we already know how the world of Thedas would look like once he does the same thing. That begs the question; will he go for a more gentle controlled banishment? Will there be a focal point for the tear? Will he use the same rip in Haven since it's likely to be easier to reopen it from there. If he doesn't, where is the original spot from which he cast the Veil? It couldn't be Tewinter, it has to be somewhere to the south where the original Elvhen Kingdom was.

I frigging love the Fade quest even the dreamers fears quest, and I'm not usually much into this kind of little side-quests. I have to skip the memories part though, because I just can't but everything else In between the fade and the winter palace it's when I do most of the loyalty quests and Before the Dawn, so that's what I'm up to now. I've already done Dorian's, Sera', Varric's, IB's, Cole's, Cassandra's and Cullen's (Solas is the first one I did, much earlier becuause, well... ) I'm just waiting for Leliana's and Vivienne to trigger, but I don't think I'm going to get Blackwall's at any point, and I'm not inclined to go searching for grey warden stuff. To be fair, he's nice and I try to be nice with him too, but I can't care much about him :/, I don't feel like helping Josephine either :/, I just can't symphatize much with her troubles to make her rich family rich again. She's wellcome to use Inquisition resources to do so as far as I'm concerned though, just doesn't need to keep me updated And the only reason I'm helping Vivienne is because, man, seeing someone you love die it's hard, doesn't matter how much we hate each others guts... I did kill a dragon for IB though, because wasn't going to like me otherwise and I want him to leave the Qun. And I usually just kill the easiest one, that for me is the one in Crestwood, but this time I thought I'd use a different approach and kill the one with better loot. Turned out that the one I was most interested in (because of the good constitution amulet for Cassandra) was anyway one of the easiest, the one in the Hinterlands, lucky me!
As for Before the Dawn, yesterday did the emerald graves, and this time I decided to take a little more time and help Fairbanks and the refugees. And today I'm going to emprise du lion and maybe, with any luck, I'll make it to the winter palace too. Also, after going through the fade without having to restock health potions, I made up my mind to finally turn Rub Some Dirt on It on. I wanted to see it how would I manage and so far I barely see the difference. I'm pretty confident that with good armour I could finish a pt with it on, so next time I'm definitely turning it on from the beginning. In this one though, it's more likely that I'll nd up turning it off as soon I as get to a hard fight And, before I finish, some more pictures A wierd family photo in the fade, because fade (don't pay attention to the woman pretending to be Hawke, she may sounds like her, but she's not really her ) And one more just because I love the Ring of Doubt and the emerald graves are so pretty And since I'm already uploading pictures, why would I refrain from posting one with Solas, even if it's older and irrelevant to what I did yesterday? That's right, I wouldn't javeart I always wear the Ring of Doubt too, when I play a mage. Otherwise it goes to Dorian. Only bad thing about it is you are invisible all the time so if you are wearing spiffy armor, no one is going to know. True, but it's worthy, particularly when the background it's pretty Though the truth it's I don't usually wear armour, so I don't have much to loose

Re:Dorian I have come to a conclusion that a romantic line actually provides the Inquisitor, or at least my Inquisitor, with his huge moral dilemma. Practically, the only way Sin can hope to keep Dorian alive is by continuously building up the power of Inquisition and his status of a religious icon. In this case, as long as he uses his connections to make it understood in Tevinter that the price of Dorian's death is the New Exalted March, by a force that is fanatically devoted to him, Sin, personally, and with the rnthusiastic support of more than one nation eager to pick up the pieces of the Imperium. It is a clear abuse of power, but it is a solid RP reason to be an unyielding warlord.
Dorian, no matter how brilliant he is, does not return to Tevinter to win. He goes there in hopes of strengthening the cause dear to him, fully expecting to be eliminated early on. After all, his savvy father steeped in political game sent him away, and was easily dispatched. Dorian being the last in the direct line has to move fast to secure a junior line he is not disgusted with to inherit Pavus estates, probably in a conflict with his mother, do as much as he can, and, quite realistically, die. If he is lucky, he will accomplish something...
So, if you want to treat the story seriously, and not count on the improbable happy luck, one Inquisitor without the Inquisition, is not going to save them both.
It's unlikely we'll se a romance with him in DA4, because we won't be playing the Inquisitor, and I have not seen yet romances for two different PCs with the same companion.

Actually I think the lore for Sundermount is that it was the site of the last stand the elves made against the Imperium and was an ancient burial ground (for Uthenera?), but the battle still had to have happened after the Veil was created and Arlathan fell.

Finally got back to my Carathir Lavellan playthrough after many weeks away playing Pillars of Eternity! Spent the last couple of days completing Jaws of Hakkon, and now I'm ready to move on to The Descent tomorrow.
I have to admit I turned the difficulty down from Nightmare to Normal, because it turns out that jumping into the high level DLC when you haven't played in weeks is not as easy as I thought it would be. (How does this party set-up even work??? Somehow I have forgotten. But maybe it will be easier from here on out now that everyone is equipped with Tier 4 gear ...)

1. So. Human mage. The choice isn't a choice really. Between mages and templars, why choose the latter? 2.
1. Good question. I can't see a mage Inky going for the Templars under any circumstance. To close a Breach? Magic would seem to be the logical answer. I can also see a human warrior or rogue going to the Templars out of distrust/dislike of mages. For dwarves or non-mage Qunari, if you go to Redcliffe, you see a bunch of mages begging to be rescued; some even want to go back to the Circle. You also know that your enemy, the one who caused the explosion at the conclave, has been playing around with time to get to Fiona first. By contrast, all you know about the Templars is Lord Seeker Lucius seems to have delusions of grandeur. Nothing otherwise sinister. The only Templar who seems to desire rescue is maybe Ser Barris. I would think this would tip the scale to mages for both dwarves and Qunari. 2. Very good questions. You should be able to talk to them or even your imprisoned companions about what they've learned about the Elder One during the past year. It could be that Cory hasn't fully revealed himself to those he wants to conquer or eliminate and Leliana and company wouldn't have much to say beyond "...the Venatori speak of the Elder One, who they say is a god..." Even so, Inky should be able to ask questions even if there are no answers.
