deadlydwarf phoray I think, it comes down at how many anti-Sera dexisions you made. Riya had the mages as allies, but did something in Halamshiral, Sera liked (I think, Sera has a crush on Celene, so any outcome, where Celene is alive is good? Not sure anymore) and she allied with the Grey Wardens instead of sending them away (big approval from Sera), so maybe that was the reason, Riya and Sera are on good enough terms, that Sera took the telloff from Riya relatively calm. I think, if one of the other decisions (apart from teh mages) had not been in Seras favor, Riya might have gotten that ugly scene too. deadlydwarf: oddly enough, I never have problems to stay on Vivs good side. SO far, most of my characters were laidback, down-to-earth gals, who acknowledge the dangers of magic without panicking about it. That is normally enough in my playthroughs to get friendly with Viv. I think, if you save all the people in IYHSB (Aidan, Flissa etc.), you get a huge approval boost from Viv. Her first dialogue in Skyhold is far more friendlier My Lavellan with Sera, ugh, they really disliked each other... Haha, I can imagine that friendly Vivienne even more horrible, than unfriendly. Brrr. So far in DA I liked all companions, but this two annoy me. (Despite my Adaar was friend of Sera, and Vivienne was grateful to my Trevelyan and Lavellan – this was one-sided feeling, I liked it. My other characters is rejected her request. They kept also the Circle's books)

She finished some more sidequests in the Hinterlands and made it to Redcliffe, where she met a confused Fiona and a smug magister. Does anyone else love Felix, Alexius son? I so wish, you could save and romance him - I just love that character so much. Some screenies In Redcliffe At the tavern, searching the rooms (and Solas sneaking into the picture again) Helping Felix (and falling instantly in love with him) the Vints make an exit Message received If this were DAO, we had a Felix companion mod already (like that redhead knight from the noble origin or that newer project, where nearly every friend from every origin can be recruited, even Tamlen survives)

What can you say?! DAO is modder heaven! People created (and sometimes even voiced) additional companions. Some created new areas to explore, some expanded on the romances, etc. Inquisition is more like modder purgatory; there's a major limit to what they can do.

After having Revas drink from the Well of Sorrows in the Arbor Wilds, I then had her mop up Red Templars on the Storm Coast and then had her cross Judicael's Crossing to defeat the last Red Templars in Empris de Leon. Then she went to the small altar to call upon Mythal for help against Corypheus. Mythal/Flemeth offered her the services of her Guardian Dragon. Revas now had something to counter Corypheus' Dragon. While in the war table conferring with her advisers, Corypheus finally made his move, opening up yet another breach over the Temple of Sacred Ashes. With her army still in the Arbor Wilds, Revas would have to face him with but three of her companions. The battle was fierce. The Guardian Dragon weakened but did not kill Corypheus' dragon. Once Revas killed the blighted monster, Corypheus was mortally wounded and Revas used her mark to send Corypheus into the Fade the hard way!
Gamer Note: Despite the "Take it slow" trial, I was already at level 18 without having touched the Hissing Wastes and only half done with the Exalted Plains. I also had yet to hunt down most of the dragons. However, the final showdown with Cory is recommended for levels 16-19, so I opted to do this fight now before Cory would be ridiculously overpowered.
At the victory celebration, Revas' strained relations with some of the companions was still apparent. Sera told Revas that "sometimes you could be a sh*t." Cass was generally conciliatory, but said that at times, she felt the coming of Revas was some kind of "cosmic joke," but ultimately agreed that Revas was just what was needed. Always a politician, Vivienne was always polite despite her strained relations with Revas.

Finally managed to disable nearly all my mods and play Riya again. Really, JoH is ten times worse modwise than Trespasser. In Trespasser some mods wont show and I have to see that no formal attire mod remains, but it never gave me that much trouble. In JoH I only kept the mods for Riya - hair, complexion, raven armor. Plus a no spider mod, since they creep me out in DA (I have to replace the spiders in all DA games, which makes DA2 look like The Walking Dead, since it has a lot of spiders and they get replaced by undead) - strangely enough, I don't have arachnophopia and I don't have a problem with spiders in other games. Anyway: Riya and group (her lover IRon Bull and her two best friends Varric and Dorian) went to a fishing hut near that mysterious island. The fisher gave them some warnings about not coming back alive blahblah, but allowed them to use one of his boats. They crossed the sea and meet a spirit, some girl, who waited for Ameridan (for a really loooong time, judging by her bones). She told them something about Ameridans mission and gave them her belongings, including an order from emperor Drakon I. After that, the group got attacked by Hakkonites, which wasn't a big problem (for RIya & Co, the Hakkonites had plenty of problems in the end ), WHen that unpleasent business was over, they crossed the sea again and gave the boat back to the fisherman. His wife was looking for a cousin named Runa, who left a trail of axes (wtf? Avvar are really strange people ). When finding her, she was in the middle of getting attacked, so Riya & Co jumped in to help. As a thank you, Runa included them in her prayers, which was nice for Riya, because she got a raise in her magic, but bad for Iron Bull, because he browned his pants. Nice gimmick: Varrick and IB talked about Tallis, which led to a pretty funny dialogue. Some Screens Riya still looks essentially the same - I'm glad that gorgeaus raven armor is still working - best armor mod, I found so far for DAI (together with the Silent Sister mod for dwarves) Talking to ghosts (she does that a lot in the Frostback Basin) Strange but funny bug - happened when Riya drank a restoration potion (that happened with an unmodded armor too before in my games, so it isn't the raven armor, but a graphic glitch - still hilarious)

I put in my notice a month back and then they told me I need not bother coming in on my last day. Should mean time for Dragon Age, but unless I can restore from Safe Mode, probably ain't gonna happen. :/ Related Dragon Age Comic! I like the dialogue with Fenris

Or is it the game software that's having problems? fylimar Is your version of Inquisition in English or German? The Avvar all have Scandanavian names and accents. (At least the accents are supposed to be Scandinavian.) I guess the idea is to make them like the Vikings. At least that is how I interpret it.

nless I can restore from Safe Mode, probably ain't gonna happen. :/ Hmmm....is the computer on the fritz? Or is it the game software that's having problems? A month ago, my computer wouldn't stop going into restart cycles for almost two weeks. I did a looooooot of stuff to try to fix it. In the middle of that, though, I learned it doesn't like the new Nvidia drivers AT ALL. So, I uninstalled them nearly as soon as I installed them. Nothing I did seemed to work, and I threw up my hands and figured I'd have to send it in. But then, randomly through no efforts of my own, the last two weeks, ZERO issues. The computer ran just fine. Then I got curious and installed the Adromeda trial. It told me to install new drivers- an order I ignored the first time I played. But the second time I played, I was like, Well, why not? This is yet a new version of the driver apparently updated just for adromeda. Oooooo, no. No. Bad idea. And the restart cycles have resumed, regardless of the fact that I "rolled back the drivers" the very next day to the old version. And I've tried 4 times to use a restore point to before I'd even downloaded the trial, and it says all of them fail. More Dragon Age comics.

I guess the idea is to make them like the Vikings. At least that is how I interpret it. My version is english. But even for vikings, making a trail of axes is a bit strange (and not to say a waste of material) ... I'm not sure about the accents. Some of the avvar, I talked to sounded very british. I have to say, that I find the JoH map a tad bit confusing. I'm at the point, where I simply will let my toon fall into the abyss, when I don't find, what I'm looking for, because that normally means, I'm too far above. Normally Riya survives the fall and if not, well ... shit happens Riya has finished the single most annoying quest, I ever encountered in any game 'It remains to be seen'. It took me forever to find this skulls and I had to use a youtube tutorial or else I would be searching still. And after that, I had to find some fade beasts for a burial - nearly as annoying. Since another quest about a rogue inquisition soldier was on the way, I solved that too. It wasn't much fun either. I wish, JoH would present some more exiting quests not those 'follow the trails'- und 'fetch the stuff' kind of quests. So far, it is not as promising as I thought. And I even haven't find the ice wall of the Hakkonites, that avvar leader is talking about (the one from the clan with the bear who tends to run away and get itself into trouble). It's one of the weaker DLCs, I played so far. In terms of DAO DLCs it's more like Golems of Amarant or Siege of Denerim kind of stuff, not Return to Ostargar or Wardens Keep. I'm doubtful, if I will play it again. It has some nice lore things, but too many uninspired fetch quests.

You will find where the Ice Wall is once you capture this one location controlled by the Hakkonites. Also, you do need to win the favor of the Avvar. And yes, that "spirit skull" quest was annoying because you don't know what the bloody thing is supposed to look like!

With Corypheus vanquished, Revas' focus is now on closing the remaining rifts, defeating the Venatori forces still in the Hissing Wastes, and killing dragons that pose a threat to population centers. Aside from Solas, the rest of her companions are still with her. However, relations are strained with some individuals... Trespasser should be interesting!

And yes, that "spirit skull" quest was annoying because you don't know what the bloody thing is supposed to look like! Exactly - I accidently activated the spirit skull quest by clicking on something, I couldn't really see because of trees and bushes all around. So I looked for something without knowing, how it looks. It was frustrating. The Stonebear clan mage was funny though - I don't know, what he smokes, but I want it The spiders are only insofar a problem, that they are annoying when you are at the river (which is most of the time at the moment for me). You can't make a step without those critters appearing. I use a mod, that makes them invisible (only the red life bar is there, which is enough to hit them), so my BW spider phobia is not the problem here (it would be, if I had to disable that mod with all those spiders though). Maybe if I finish JoH the overall impression will be a bit more positive. I like the interactions with Scout Harding and that scientist. But a bit less fetch quests would be nice - in general, not only in the DLCs. Imo the devolpers don't need to make a game longer by making the maps ridiculous big and filled with some filler quests, no one is bothering with after one playthrough. DAI would be a big game with let's say 20 or 30 % side quests removed. So maybe you are right, the next time, I probably won't do a lot of quests (and I spoiled myslef a bit insofar that I read, that one can get favors with the avvar via war table missions, so next session, Riya will head bac kto Skyhold for some war table time , maybe that means one fetch quest less)

Didn't know, that Sera could be (to quote her) 'such a tit'. I know, she is annoying sometimes, especially if you are an elf, but that dialogue is just ... well, I don't have words. She must be the most single minded companion in the history of DA companions. It would not surprise me, but she comes across as a free spirit at first and then you find out that she is more conservative than most of the chantry people about a lot of topics, not just elves

1. Honestly, I would kick her out. Didn't know, that Sera could be (to quote her) 'such a tit'. I know, she is annoying sometimes, especially if you are an elf, but that dialogue is just ... well, I don't have words. She must be the most single minded companion in the history of DA companions. It would not surprise me, but she comes across as a free spirit at first and then you find out that she is more conservative than most of the chantry people about a lot of topics, not just elves 1. If only I had opted for a training ground on Skyhold instead of a hospital, Revas and Sera could have settled their differences via MMA- or WWF- style! This is what I got from using the "Fair Weather Friends" trial, which doubled the impact of companion negative approval. Without this trial in past PTs, I would end the game with friendly relations with all the companions. I wonder what you would have to do get an equally negative reaction from Sera or Cass without the trial? All that said, I'm glad I used the trial. Conflict makes the companions more interesting!

Conflict makes the companions more interesting! and phorayI admit - my little treehugging heart likes to be on the good side with most companions. I have exeptions: I don't care about approval with Alistair, Morrigan and Oghren in DAO, Merrill and Sebastian in DA2 and Sera and Solas in DAI. But I never got Solas to the point, where I can hit him, because all my characters are kind of curious about things and since you get approval with Solas by simply asking questions, he is always on my good side. I kicked all of the above mentioned DAO companions out at some point (mostly Morrigan) and I managed to get Merrill to really hate me (I took her to all the quests involving blood magic and always decided against the blood magic - was not intentionally, but was fun) and Sebastian always gets the boot in the end. I have a hard time doing that to companions, I actually like (which is mostly the rest ... well... Leliana is a bit in between, but mostly ok). The exeption is Solas - I like him, I just love it, when he gets mad - he is acutally kind of cute when he is getting all puffed up about something (had such a scene with RIya, after she made the wardens allies) Oh and I completely forgot, but I mangaed to loose Isabella and Fenris in my first DA2 playthrough. With Isa, I didn't have enough approval, so she just left with the tome of Koslun and Fenris joined the templars in the end, when I joined the mages, so Ihad to kill him. Isa was kind of fun, because it was so in character for her, but Fenris was really sad.

Otherwise, most of his inclinations usually align with my PC. I love the Merrill character and that wonderful Gaelic accent (American men are suckers for women with non-American accents) but can understand that things may not work out if your Hawke takes a hardline against blood magic. 1. I had both of those situations happen on my first PT. It was sad not having Isabela around in Act 3; I felt a sense of loss every time I would come across an Isabela upgrade which she would obviously not be able to use. As to Fenris, I always favor Sword and Shield warriors over 2-handed warriors, so his loss didn't bother me much. You should try "Fair Weather Friends" on your next PT. You'll almost certainly run across content you've never seen before!

You'll almost certainly run across content you've never seen before! Nope, I don't like Alistair. He was tolerable at first, but then I did the romance - he is such a whiner and not a very well written character imo I never played DAA with the character, that romanced Ali, I was just glad, it was over. I know, most ladies love him, but I really don't care for him at all. Luckily there is Zevran, my favorite DA romance in all games (well - if Varric would be available, that could change, but until now, Zevran has nothing to fear). And Merrill - she is funny, but I find her attitude towards all kind of blood magic and demons disturbing. I mean, my Hawke was kind of ok with her using her own blood for restoring that eluvian. She gets, that it is kind of important for Merrill and she promised herself, that she looks after Merrill, so that she didn't overuse it. But Merrill disapproving when you kill Idunna ('the tramp from Darktown' ) or frown upon Tahrone and her tomes is kind of over the top. Idunna and Tahrone did hurt and kill people so they deserved what they got and DAO Merrill would have understood that. I guess, that's my deepest problem with Merrill - she has nothing to do with DAO Merrill. DAO Merrill was a bit like Hermione Granger while DA2 Merrill was on a dangerous path to become Bellatrix Lestrange (I hope, you know Harry Potter - it's the best way, how I can describe it). I love Merrills voice actress Eve Myles though, love the welsh accent (took me a while to realise, that she was Gwen from Torchwood). I always let the Dalish rite for the departed play in full length, because imo Eve Myles is the only voice actor, who really got the Dalish language right - or at least makes it sound like a real language. On the other hand, I always cringe, when Solas speaks elven - the voice actor is really good, but he does nothing for the Dalish language at all. To summarize Merrill: I would have liked, if Merrill would keep her humour, but also a bit of her DAO personality. Since I never play a warrior myself, I'm not so good with their mechanics. Aveline and Fenris manage to stay alive in most fights, that is good enough for me - same with Cass, Blackwall and IB in DAI. They all keep on fighting and I give them better armor and weapons, so we are ok

Isa was kind of fun, because it was so in character for her, but Fenris was really sad. I love Alistair, Morrigan, and Oghren has a redeeming charm in his final speech before the Archdemon. Whereas Wynn really began to irritate me, especially playing a circle hating mage. Leliana is just crazy on a variety of things, I kinda hate her. I've done her personal quest two different ways and I think she's more true to herself when she admits she likes to murder people. It's her default go to resolution to all problems. I also rivaled Merril my second game and I felt like I was kicking a puppy. So, uh... Not going to bother doing that again, although it is rather easier than the friendship path considering those tomes. Sebastian amuses me- I like to rival him, and make him revel in his power hungry sin as he turns his back on the Chantry. Mwuahhahaha. But in the end, he wants you to kill Anders *sigh* and ruins all the fun. The one time I played with him, I was playing sociopath Aggro Male Hawke and killed Anders. The only time Sebastian will ever be pleased by the ending of DA2. And Fenris! I've also accidentally killed Fenris my first PT. But now I'm in lurve with him, so no way is that happening again. The only "I hate the Quiz" scenes I've gotten are from Vivienne. I love Viv hating me! Her scenes are so much better when she is biting you with her sharp words; she's so honest when she's not pretending to be your mom! All it takes is one conversation after allying the mages; argue that circles are not the way! The conversation itself is frustrating, but all the rest is gold. And then you don't have to do a single quest for the woman. ^^ Her quest is pretty dumb anyway. I've gotten close to getting Sera's hate scenes. She just hates you in such a childish way, from your pictures, it makes me laugh. I think rivaling Cassandra leads to an OOC scene for her. She is too strong minded and firm in her resolve to be falling apart like that. Like, geez, Cass. Get it together, it's not that bad. I wish I could get Jose to hate me, that'd be interesting to see how she gets angry at you. But alas, Advisor status. You can kinda get one scene with Leliana where she insults you, but it doesn't stick. Egads, I hate the woman. Maybe I should kill her in Origins, so she's a tragic ghost that fades away in Trespasser. And I've not gotten Solas angry except for the two convos about keeping the Wardens and drinking from the well. He's actually quite easy to please. But I've seen some of his angry scenes on Youtube and I like him losing his composure and saying too much.

fylimar, phoray. deadlydwarf: Leliana fine to me: I like that she is a little bit weird. I don't know which Divine version I like better: the diplomat or the murderer... Morrigan is great. From the beginning at the end. I never found her evil, and seems I was right. Her romance is pretty good, especially when in Inquisition she speak about her love. With Circle mage Wynne's standpoint was unacceptable, but I liked her past, behavior, and humor. Alistair is fine as long as Warden wants to execute Loghain. But I don't have any problem with drunk Alistair. I think, better way to harden him. He will be a good ruler. Loghain is a good teammate, and good "father", I like when he accept his "son" at the coronation ceremony, and also like him in DAI. I like Merrill in DA2, I see funny the contrast between her behavior and his obsession about the Eluvian and interest in the blood magic and spirits/demons. She not too wise, but not a naive, innocent girl. In DAO, DAA and DA2 I like all, included this vengeful choirboy. Who annoy me in DAI is Vivienne and Sera. Sera less, she just a little jerk, she has a chance to grow to a fine, big jerk, but Vivienne too old to change. I never lost Fenris.
